Here's my updated and response: Rebuttal to Dr. Dutson: Dr. Dutson, I am absolutely a former patient of your practice, and I stand by every word of my review. It's disappointing to see you respond not by addressing the concerns I raised, but by questioning whether I was ever a patient at all. That's not only false--it's a deflection from the real issue: I paid for new designer frames and was given used/demo ones from your display wall. I wasn't even provided the proper designer case they normally come with, just a generic one that didn't fit properly. That is not acceptable, and it certainly isn't ethical. You claim to have searched your patient database but couldn't verify me--yet somehow you sent me a private message on Yelp with direct contact info. That doesn't align. You also claim I would have responded if I were a real patient. I did not respond because I already attempted to contact your office directly before ever posting a review, and I was ignored. Only after leaving honest public feedback did I receive any acknowledgment. This pattern of dismissing concerns and redirecting the narrative is exactly what motivated me to leave a review. My intent was not to harm your business, but to protect future patients from the experience I had. That is the purpose of reviews. I had a great experience with this practice yesterday. Very high tech, provided me with a lot of information about my aging eyes and vision care. Lovely country-feel, relaxed office, pleasant staff, no waiting. I am grateful for the care and information given for me to improve my vision and protect my eyes. read more

Fort mill vision is great! I'm new to the area and was able to get an appointment pretty quickly. The Optometrist technician made sure I knew that I could get the Opto Map (?) of my eye, which is an extra fee, or I could get my eyes dilated with no upcharge. I have not had someone explain all that to me before. ALL the staff were so pleasant and kind- the front desk, the optician, Dr Dutton and his assistants (I'm sure the other two optometrists are great , too, I just haven't met them.) I got some fabulous frames from the trunk show (which had snacks and prizes!). When I first picked them up with my new lens, they were very wonky. They ended up sending them back to the designer, and I got new ones which fit perfectly, though the optician is thee to help if you need fit adjustments (which I did for my sunglasses). Took my 7 year old son and he had a great experience, too. read more

Came across this optometry practice on Yelp. I was able to quickly schedule an appointment online for the following day, and received confirmation in the morning. My visit was very streamlined, I was in and out in about ~50 mins, and the staff and receptionist were kind and helpful. Only recommendation I have, and it's extremely minor, is it would be very helpful to allow customers to fill out new customer paperwork online ahead of the appointment. Would save time for both the practice and customer. Great experience overall, and will be back! read more

The staff was exceptional. From the front desk to nurses to doctor. Everyone treated my wife great. She was glowing when she came home. How have I missed this hidden jem the past two years I've been here!! I will admit the office was a little hard to find my first visit, it's tucked down a little hill near the new RiverView Elementary school. GPS lead me to believe I was there before I actually arrived but there is a sign visible from the road just keep your eye out for it. Dr. Thomas and the ENTRIE staff at Fort Mill Vision Center are amazing! Everyone was extremely friendly, courteous and welcoming from the time I set foot in the practice until the moment I left. Dr. Thomas saw both myself and my almost 12 year old who wears contacts. Dr. Thomas was very patient and thorough during both of our exams. The eye glass selection for women seemed pretty nice, I can't say I paid a great deal of attention because both myself and my daughter were there for contacts. I'll be back to bring my son, as well as, my husband, for their annual exams. :) read more

UPDATE: I returned to FMVC today to pick up my glasses. The woman who helped adjust my frames was great and things went smoothly. Since Dr. Dutson has reached out to me here, I asked to see him and he made time for me right away. Today, we were on the same page about my problems and what could be causing them. I came away with some answers and tools to help my vision. I was very pleased with my second visit. I will return to Fort Mill Vision and Dr. Dutson. Upgraded from 3 to 5 stars. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I visited Fort Mill Vision Center last Thursday as a new patient. The practice is clean and has a lot of the modern equipment that makes going to the eye doctor easier. That said, I was not happy with Dr. Dutson. He dismissed my concerns about eye exhaustion from screen time until I told him it was for work then magically he could help. Also, I asked him if any of my medications, which I listed on their form, could cause vision problems, and he said, "I don't know, maybe." I enjoyed picking from their selection of stylish frames, and the women helping me were super friendly and knowledgeable. One even brought a pair of frames from the back that she thought would work well. However, their glasses take 7-10 business days to come in, which, in this world of 48 hour places, is a ridiculously long period of time. I will probably return to the practice. read more

I absolutely love FMVC! They have the sweetest staff and are always extremely helpful. I just recently received new glasses after having been without for a couple years. Well the glasses I currently have started to fit loosely and I called them up and I went the same day and got the issue fixed! I couldn't recommend a better eye care facility for the Fort Mill area. read more

They were friendly enough, but the reason for my 3 star review is bc first my husband went to them and there was a major delay on his contact lenses which they horribly communicated with him. Then I went and they told me a week for my glasses to come in.. my appointment was on the 12th, so on the 20th I called them and they said they weren't in yet, that it was 7-10 business days and they would call me... well now it's the 31st and I call again, and they tell me that they have had my glasses since the 18th... One time is understandable but. Ow it just seems they have terrible customer service and office communication. read more

I lucked into finding this place. My 1 year old pretty severely scratched my cornea on a Wed night. Before going to the ER (it was like 6:30) I called Fort Mill eye and there was a number to call if you needed to see a doctor immediately. So I took a chance and called. Dr Dutson answered and said he would meet me at the office in 30 minutes. Which he did! He was incredibly understanding and kind. (I felt bad taking away from his personal time!). He must have known what rx I would need because before I was even there he had already called multiple pharmacies to confirm they were open and had the drops of would need. He was great, thorough yet in and out in 30 minutes. I'm still under his care for my eye but he fit me in the following 2 days to check on my eye. He was very thorough when he examined me and made sure I understood what he was doing and what my home care should consist of. He even had my husband take a look the first night and updated him each time. This is the kind of care you only hope to find in your doctors! read more

I had the same eye doctor for 15+ years; even when I moved to Rock Hill, I drove 2 hours home just to go to MY doctor. Unfortunately my doctor passed a few years ago and I was frantically searching for someone who could replace him and work with my "high maintenance" eyes. Fort Mill Vision was just the place. I have had wonderful experiences with the doctors, the techs, the front desk ladies. Everyone is friendly and willing to help however they can--whether it's eye-related or insurance-related. Drs. Dutson and Long know their field and have always been able to answer any and all of my questions. They go above and beyond to ensure correct prescriptions and fit of my contacts, including trial-and-error attempts to determine which brand is best suited for my eye issues. Quick to offer knowledgeable suggestions, I trust their recommendations without reservation. As long as I live in the area, this will be my go-to office; if I relocate, this may continue to be my go-to office. You can't always find great medical professionals, but these are high caliber optometrists that my husband and I both see regularly. read more

Great doctors and super friendly staff. My son came home with a note from school that he needed his eyes checked ASAP. They were great in getting us a quick appointment (not a month later like some other places we called) and were very accommodating to our schedule. The doctor was very patient with our very anxious and nervous son and we were able to get him the glasses that he needed quickly. read more
