I am appalled how bad my pool maintenance has been.I pay $150 dollars a month and live out of state so I relied on "Pool Troopers!" to maintain the 3 basic C's of my pool condition. circulation cleaning and chemicals. absolutely appalled. the chlorine is so high it's unhealthy to swim it a simple dip test showed. the water is super hard (I had them empty and replace only less than a year and I paid for that too) the pool vacuum I have doesn't work anymore and I wasn't informed. I live out of state and rely on these people to be honourable and do the work while I am honourable and paying every month. my pool is dirty and hasn't been brushed and green algae on the sides starting to form. complete Scam! I am working with my Amex to refund and pursuing legal avenues to recuperate my thousands lost with this unethical business. Shame on you! read more

Had appt scheduled for Friday last week. No show. No call. I called and they said I was scheduled for Monday. Very unprofessional. IF they even show up on Monday..... not sure I trust they won't be some people they picked on on a street corner to "service" their customers. EDIT: Update. It's a SCAM. Spoke to the owner this morning who said they called me on Friday to THEN schedule a time for Monday. Claimed "it's not an exact science. We CALLLLLED you on Friday...... to actually "schedule" an appointment." It is an exact science, it's called a CALENDAR! Previously, in order to book my "appointment" for Friday, I had to give my credit card information. I guess nowadays businesses are charging us for their gift from them to return our calls and schedule actual appointments. Absolute disgrace! Should be ashamed. I paid money, for what I THOUGHT was an appointment for them to show up on Friday, give me a diagnosis based on a pool chemical test of what chemicals my pool needed as well as an estimate. Our pool ended up turning green due to poor upkeep by the company which they were being paid for and they ended up saying the pool needed to he drained. Scheduled an appointment for the pool to be drained not only were they 2 hours late they couldn't find the clean out drain and said they would need to jackhammer the gravel( eye roll by me). Stood on our fountain feature, put tabs in our float basket braking the float system, dumped granular all over our tile - had to sweep up so our dogs wouldn't eat it, dumped salt into our chlorine pool and wouldn't acknowledge their mistake. Terrible service, ended up having to replace my pool pump due to cleaning being so poor. After ending service they incorrectly charged me for the month they agreed to refund due to all of the issues and sent debt collectors to collect. It was nearly impossible to get in contact with the company to resolve the issue, constantly being transferred to a voicemail that never returned calls. The only way I was able to resolve was calling multiple times a day and asking to be directly connected to billing. Pool Troopers only supplied chemical service, as my son was home to do the cleaning while we were out of town. Regularly, we would get emails with pictures of our green pool, saying they were working on it. At one point, we were told we needed to change the sand in the filter, which we did, but the pool remained green. When we got home in late October, the supervisor said the water was beyond fixing and we needed to drain the pool (32000 gallons) and refill it. Do you think they should they be paid for a whole summer of a green pool? I thought not and refused to pay the last invoice; so they turned me over to a collection agency. The pump was running almost 24/7 and we had the sand replaced in the filter as they requested. My son brushed down the sides almost daily, so we did participate in the maintenance. read more

Pool Troopers recently moved to the Tempe Phoenix area and took over our service from our existing pool company. The service was a weekly service for our pool chemicals. The company never showed up weekly. Our pool consistently would turn green/yellow. The only way we could get someone to come out was by us reaching out on their online chat message begging for somebody to come to fix our pool. Currently, our pool is dark green. After 3 weeks of trying to chat with their customer service to get somebody out, we now have to drain our pool, power wash it to remove the algae, and refill out. The worst part....its summertime in Phoenix AZ and our kids have yet to be able to enjoy our pool. We've asked them to kindly refund our service since our pool was unswimmable and they never showed up, but no refund in sight. I strongly recommend you do not use this company. Kept putting us off... hardly ever came when expected. Then we're loud and obnoxious at early morning times as my bedroom window lines up with the backyard! We came home from vacation on May 20 to a green pool. Come to find out the last time Pool Troopers had visited our pool was May 3rd. We got no help when we called the office in Florida. We were told we would get a call from management within 48 hours. A week later we had still heard nothing. We started adding our own chemicals to try to rectify the problem. Finally on May 31 a tech comes to service our pool. He sees how bad the pool looks and says he will put in a report to his supervisor. We finally get an email on June 1 telling us they will make it right and a call from Patrick saying the same thing. Now it is June 6 and my pool is still a mess. This company is a waste of your time and money!! They didnt show up at my house for over a month without any notification. When my pool turned green I had tried diligently for over 3 weeks to get our problems solved. They finally sent someone over AFTER I had to shock and clean myself. I was using PoolChlor for over 15 years and never once had a problem with my pool. When they got bought by Pool Troopers, I was a little nervous. Rightfully so, because after a few months after the buyout, they seemed to just stop showing up. They left no proof of a visit, the water turned yellow with algae, no chlorine tabs in the float, and even after calling them and giving them a chance to make things right, they still didn't show. But they sure kept on billing me. I've been having to buy my own chemicals just to fight the algae. I'm so disappointed that I cancelled my service and hired someone else. I understand supply chain and staffing are issues for many companies right now, but they didn't even try or at the very least keep me informed. I do hope they can turn things around. read more

Pool Troopers bought out a local pool servicing company which I was neutral about. Since the transition to Pool Troopers, service, communication and competence has dropped. Techs came out and said they performed their pool cleaning and verified all systems were working. This was false, as the pump was out of commission and I had put in a service call about it. Two techs came out and said the pool pump was fine but it was not getting power. Electrician came out and said no, pump is getting power, it's just not working. Prices remained the same and the service level decreased. Customer service can't access any historical information about the account from former company or even previous work done. Avoid. EDIT: The reply from the business is partially correct. The most recent tech on 12/21 did confirm my electrician's statement that the pump was bad. I was on a work call (tech did not call ahead to establish a convenient time to come by) and was unable to follow up with tech. When tech put back the breaker box, he left the wires to pump, outside outlet, and pool light unconnected to breaker. The 2 prior Pool Troopers technicians who came to check out the pump were the ones who were unable to detect power to the pump, something the electrician and the final tech could detect. I received the information about the warranty after calling Pool Troopers after the holiday, 2 weeks after the tech was at the house. They did not supply at the time of the visit (as I was on a work call). read more

When Leslie's Pool claimed they couldn't order a part to fix my vacuum. Will not only picked up the part he fixed my vacuum himself. My pool is an essential part of my well being and they always make sure it is running like a dream even if they have to make an extra trip to double check everything is working as it should. Doesn't even deserve 1 star. Scheduled cleanings are not consistent and pool techs typically don't complete full service (i.e., vacuum, brush, empty baskets). Supervisors are just as unreliable. Have had a green pool for the majority of the last two months. One quick visit from a supervisor to throw chemicals in was all I got. Customer service reps are always nice but are powerless for any service recovery. I would except proactive outreach if a scheduled cleaning can't happen. Maybe an offering of a credit for services paid, yet not delivered. Nothing. Outside of simply canceling the service, there is no way to escalate customer service issues. One recent situation that elevated my frustration... I was scheduled for a bi-weekly cleaning on 5/19. No email, no call, no show. Called the office and they said it was recorded as completed, but there was no official documentation of it (no picture or notes). The rep told me she would elevate it to the supervisors board. That was at least 6 business days ago. I have called in multiple times to ask about my next cleaning. The response is "I'll send a message to the supervisor" or "I'm on the supervisor's board". Now it is Friday before a hot, holiday weekend and I have a green pool. I've worked with Pool Troopers for 4+ years and never had a problem until the past 3-4 months. It has gotten really bad. I'm not sure how many pools they service in the PHX area but the fact that I haven't been able to get anyone to come clean my pool in almost 30 days....I am not accepting "staff shortages" as a valid excuse. read more

I strongly encourage you to shop local for your next pool service company and avoid (Fla. based) Pool Troopers. Pool Troopers AZ has earned my mistrust and disrespect. I not only cannot recommend them but I am compelled to share of my experience with technician deceit. I received an email stating the pool could not be serviced due to a dog being present and, the dog was at another person's home at the time. It was a physical impossibility, the tech blatantly lied. We are original customers from Splish Splash Pools and since the buy-out have been unsatisfied with inconsistent service and ineffective communication. Despite best efforts to resolve any misunderstandings, some techs would give notice while others just showed up. Pool Troopers will not give service appointments. Some techs would go in with our (friendly) dog outside, while others wouldn't. So we never really knew who was coming when and often didn't get weekly service. Finally I was able to speak to a supervisor, Matt, who reviewed our account and noted we were flagged with a "hostile dog" and a "no text messaging" notice. Neither of which was true so Matt made the appropriate changes. Fast forward and the incorrect number was texted while the tech refused service due to a (non existent) dog being present. I cannot trust Pool Troopers' technicians to follow (supervisor) account instructions, while blatantly lying to avoid service (while charging). Our account is subsequently cancelled and I strongly recommend you look elsewhere when shopping for a pool service company. read more

We have been with pool troopers for almost 2 years now and have been more than satisfied with their service. Will and his staff go above and beyond in all aspects. Versus pushing new equipment when not needed they always work on getting the longest life out of our older equipment. Our pool is very well cleaned and maintained, but should chemicals get out of balance they have always responded to get them back in line as soon as possible. The cleaning never consisted more than throwing a chemical in the pool and half the time they didn't even come into the lanai and sent a picture of someone else's pool saying it was yours that they serviced. After months of horrible service I called to cancel service and they continue to bill me. If I could give no stars, I would. We tried working with this company after they bought out the local company we had been using. The service was okay until about April/May when suddenly our pool began looking cloudy and just not great. They came out, got rid of the fog but within 2 days our pool started to fill with algae. They never showed back up, ever. My husband called and we were told they would send someone out ASAP. 3 weeks and nobody ever showed up to our house and our entire pool turned green. Because of their failure to communicate, or get out as promised, we had to pay out of pocket to have the entire pool drained and acid washed, paying extra because of how bad it was. This business should be ashamed of themselves and should not be in business. I got a response 2 days ago after a review left on google 4 weeks ago with a sad excuse for an apology. Never had any problems when Splish Splash owned the company now that Pool Troopers took over nothing but a big mess! We had to be out of town for a couple of months, not to worry for they had a key to get into our locked gate. Week 1 received a text "couldn't service "gate was locked" we text back "you have a key". Week 2, they texted they couldn't get in, gate was locked". I called them and said you have a key, why aren't you using it, supervisor said we'll check into it. 3rd week got a text gate was locked, I test (not a very nice text) and ask what their problem was are they new workers and you forgot to tell them your company has a KEY! This went on for 6 weeks until we came home early. by then pool was so green and our of control. A guy come we, we had to let him in NO KEY! told him what has been going on he called the office while here & sent them a picture of our green pool. He said "yes they have your key I'll make sure to bring it next week. Well once again no friggin KEY we had to let them in. I said where's your key? well he hew hawed around then finally said it was lost. One week they even told us the key didn't work. they had the original key mine was a copy and mine worked just fine. Please do not use this company, they don't care, lie and try to turn it around and put the blame on you. Mean while we are buying chemicals (shock and clarifier) all the pool guys are doing are putting in chlorine tablets and call it good. We have been out twice a day cleaning sweeping etc for the past 2 weeks and finally its starting to get better. They haven't done or offered a thing! I would stay clear of this company! Pool Troopers took over for our pool company that we used for about 10yrs and had NO ISSUES with our former company. We have had nothing but issues with Pool Troopers, let's see... - Pool turned green twice, apparently, the tech was doing nothing when he came out (I was told this by regional manager). Finally, had a supervisor come from FL to fix the pool (after our pool was green over a week) they were short staffed. - 2nd time pool turned green about 2 weeks after the FL Supervisor came out. Waited again over a week for someone to come out. Finally, regional manager came out and serviced our pool. Told him my husband spent over $250 in chemicals to pick up where this company slacked so we didn't have to drain our pool from it turning green. He said to send him the receipt and we would be compensated or credited on our acct. I think only a month has been credited, we just got charged today for this month!! Texted regional manager weeks ago, no response. Let me state there was also a month between services (we should have bi-weekly service). Just sent another message to customer service this morning and decided to post on Yelp hoping to get some type of closure to this issue. We have been more than patient, but we have had it. Not a good company. Did not come to service the pool on the days they were scheduled to come. Kept changing the days without telling me, just showed up on random days. Sometimes I wasn't home because I had no idea they were coming and they couldn't service the pool (we have a dog that needs to be put in the house when they come) They said they would come back and never did. This happened multiple times. Our pool turned green, called them, the lady I spoke with said she would have a supervisor call me right away and have someone come out. I've been using pool troopers now for almost two years to service our pool. They are extremely professional and show up the same day every two weeks like clock work. Will, the supervisor is amazing and even came out to install our new cartridge filter. For the price and use of their salt water chlorine generator these guys cant be beat! When we switched over from chlorine to using their salt generator we immediately felt a big difference. No more harsh chlorine smell and burning eyes, our skin even feels better!
