I needed to find a local place to bring my visiting in-laws that had a decent menu and wouldn't break the bank. Located on a street corner off the main Islands Brygge road is Ponte Vecchio. I frequently walk past this place and there is always a steady amount of customers inside, so I decided to give it a try. Fortunately, Ponte Vecchio didn't disappoint.
It looks small from the outside but extends further within the building. The restaurant is very cozy, very hygge and provides a nice relaxing atmosphere. The menu wasn't extensive but had something for everyone's tastes. For dinner, their prices are very reasonable in comparison to any dinner price in CPH. They also have a nice wine list and top shelf liquors if you want something from the bar.
The food was good. My party had the Lasagna alla Bolognese, Rigatoni con filetto e tartufo, Saltimbocca alla Sorrentina, and I had the Risotto ai funghi porcini. Everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy their food and the portions were the perfect amount. I thought the risotto could've been a little more flavorful but I still enjoyed the meal.
There was only 1 person who was running the front of the house. She was seating people, taking orders, bringing out food, clearing tables, etc but she still maintained a very friendly and cordial demeanor. (There were also only 4 other parties in the restaurant at the time, so it wasn't super packed).
Ponte Vecchio is a solid local Italian restaurant in the Islands Brygge neighborhood. Worth a visit if you're ever in the area. read more
