Dishes 3-5" away from my head where they sat me.
Jonathan R.

Few culinary options are as situationally rewarding and hearty as a good plate of pasta. Here, I was hoping for that satisfaction that comes from that magical combination of ground beef with pasta--when prepared properly. Upon entering the restaurant, I was promptly ushered to an undesirable table, despite a sea of vacant tables present. Plates, napkins worker personal items, and more were stored inches from my head. All manner of loud crashing sounds came from the kitchen. The adventure started with me asking for a water and the waiter declaring that they would charge 10-70 cr for such and couldn't serve tap water. So I declined any drinks here. Second attempt was met with the same outcome. The pasta was not homemade, but store bought. The meat sauce had kind of a different, heavy taste to it, one I can't quite describe. While it was acceptable, hardly amongst the better I've sampled. The restaurant at 6:30pm remained empty. They didn't know what crushed red peppers are upon requesting such. My credulity is stretched as if you don't know what these are yet claim to serve pasta as they do(?), something is wrong in Denmark (pun intended). This is a tourist oriented restaurant and just isn't worthy of the high star level its reviews reflect. Overall an unpleasant experience.

BEST meal i had in copenhagen!!! wanted to go to the round tower and ended up here for a quick lunch. it was a little after noon on a wednesday, but the restaurant was almost empty. cute place. service was fast and food came out quick. pizzas were some of the best i've ever had and the spaghetti bolognese was delicious too. definitely put this one on your list!

Decent Italian restaurant with efficient and friendly service. Located downtown with indoor and outdoor seating, this place serves Italian classics in a homestyle manner.

I've been to La Perla a couple of times in the last two weeks after discovering this hidden gem near the metro station-Kongens Nytorv stop. Nothing pretentious about it. You can view images from The Godfather and of Pavarotti on the walls while enjoying your Pasta/Pizza combo. Service can be slow if they are busy but the friendly staff and owner more than make up for it. No worries as I'm taking my time enjoying made from scratch Italian anyway. We've tried the Pesto Pasta with chicken, Seafood Diavolo Pasta, Pancetta and Seafood Pizza-all excellent! Haven't had dessert but from viewing the sweets along with the smiles at other tables -next time

Excellent Italian food. A bit off the main drag, small place. Great selection of dishes and wines. I got the spaghetti marinara with seafood. Lots of random shellfish thrown in, but really tasty. Nice staff, really authentic feeling.

Delicious food, great service, cozy atmosphere. I ordered the spinach ravioli with truffle mushroom sauce, incredible! Also, the table next to us was celebrating a birthday and they turned on a loud birthday song and brought out a ice cream sundae with a giant sparkler in it! So so fun! I would absolutely come back again!

Perfect spaghetti carbonara

The Italian comfort food place you know you'll come back to. I'm so happy I found this place, tucked away in a side street behind the Round Tower. After a disastrous customer service experience at WokShop, I found myself craving some down-to-earth, honest comfort food, like a big plate of steaming pasta. My friend and I had heard about La Perla, and decided to give it a go. When we got there, it was nearly empty, but it was a weeknight and more diners came later. My friend had a pizza, while I chose the bowlful of cream, starch, and cheese that is spaghetti carbonara. It's like a hug in a bowl! Both were delicious, the pizza has a lovely thin crust and the toppings were fresh and yum. Portions were huge, but it wasn't a problem to pack the rest up in a doggy bag - lunch, sorted! Prices are more than fair, and I know that I'll be back here before long.

Pizza with ham al parma, artichokes, and gorgonzola

Food and service was good. Menu was large and had classic Italian place dishes on it. We had been eating gluten free and vegan all week, so my dad and I took advantage of my mom and sister staying at home. This has the top ratings on yelp for the area, so we decided to try it. There is nothing special about this place; either food quality or ambiance. If I lived in Copenhagen, I would add this to my rotation of restaurants, but I wouldn't recommend it to fellow travelers. We had the pasta al salmone, which was cooked to am dente perfection. We had a pizza with ham al parma, gorgonzola, and artichokes. It was a little salty, but we got everything we wanted in one bite. Crust was good, but I'm partial to my thick crust/deep dish. Certainly does the job if you're looking for comfort food.

Good pasta and pizza in a quaint setting complete with checkered table cloths and large black and white posters of famous Italians slurping spaghetti! In the intro of their menu they claim to be the 'first Spaghetteria' in Copenhagen too! The menu is concise but the pizza flavours are definitely more up to date than their pastas. We shared a pizza with rocket and Parmesan and cherry tomatoes to start with. The pizza was nice enough with a crispy base but it wasn't really memorable - no secret special sauce in afraid. The pastas tasted great, we chose spaghetti marinara - mussels, shrimps and prawns in tomato sauce and three of us went for the spaghetti diavolo - shrimps and prawns in chilli oil. Great portions but it was just mediocre pasta dishes. Who still serves frozen shrimp?! The prawns were a bit tasteless and would've been better if it was cooked IN the chilli oil! All in all a pleasant experience but I wouldn't bother coming here again.

Amazing experience! Went there for early dinner on a Saturday as a group of 4. Place with very nice Italian decorations (many pictures of famous Italian celebrities, table cloths and all around decoration looks like from an Italian movie from the sixties or seventies). Staff all Italians and loved hearing them talking because it actually made us feel like in Italy. Food delicious! For starters we got vitello tonato, bruschetta and salmon with rucola. All was very good. As main course we got two kinds of pastas and two Pizza capricciosa. Again great food. All in all the experience was amazing, and it is a definitely worth a visit restaurant. Total recommend.

A delicious tagliatelle with tomato sauce

Yum yum YUM! I was craving good Italian food because I was having withdrawal symptoms from my Italy trip, and this restaurant did not disappoint! My friend and I came here on a whim one Friday evening around 7, and had to wait about 35 minutes for a table; not a problem - we just went around the corner to Studenterhuset (Student House) for a drink! When we came back, we were seated immediately. My friend ordered the La Perla pizza, and I ordered the tagliatelle with a tomato pesto sauce, both of which were *delicious* and quite large servings! The pizza had a sweeter sauce and a good portion of seafood, and my pasta was perfectly cooked, had the right amount of sauce, and enough meat. Both of us were stuffed by the end, but persevered to polish off our food because we didn't want to waste a single bite! This wasn't the BEST Italian food I'd ever had, but it definitely hit the spot and is likely one of the best places in Copenhagen for taste, quality and price point; would recommend!!

Pizza is amazing! The lunch deal gives you a large pizza for a discounted rate. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area.

When I saw how packed it was I knew it must live up to the hype but I was super disappointed with the experience. I was sat and served bread and upon my 3rd bite of bread I noticed it super tasted like perfume or soap. Hmmmm that's odd I tried another piece and the same thing, I spit it out. In that moment I lost trust, before my main dish even arrived. When the carbonara did arrive , to my extreme disappointment it literally had no flavor what so ever. Not one seasoning was added to this dish. I only ate about 3 bites and asked for the check. The server asked if i wanted something else but at this point i just wanted to go home. They charged me in full. I walked home in disappointment on my last night in this beautiful city filled with great food. The end.

When we arrived early there were quite a few open seats and staff had no problem seating us. We could've sat outdoors and listened to a guitarist but opted for inside. The decor was rustic and almost every inch of the wall was covered with something. Even the ceilings were painted. Service was quite good. Attentive and fast. Our section of the restaurant was quiet. However, I felt a little sorry for one server as the couple behind us kept complaining through most of their meal and eventually had to moved due to sounds they kept hearing through the wall. We didn't hear anything. Bread service was included and each slice was soft and helped us finish off the remaining bit of sauces from our pasta. My salmon pasta was quite generous with the amount of salmon chunks. The sauce was distinct creamy tomato and mixed well with the al dente pasta. My SO's mushroom tagliatelle had a nice mix of mushrooms and rich flavor. Dinner was quite filling and we couldn't fit in dessert. Would come back again should we be back in Copenhagen.

This place was aggressively overhyped, to me. Easily my least favorite meal of my trip to…read moreCopenhagen, but the viral spaghetti/butter/caviar dish is worth a visit. Did a late-ish dinner on a Sunday, with a reservation and as a solo diner, they seated me at the bar. Service was friendly, but also felt like they were kind of rushing me through everything, when I wanted a casual, leisurely meal. I wanted some advice on what to order (I knew I wanted the spaghetti with butter and caviar but not sure what else) and I felt a bit pressured to order more than what I was really hungry for/wanted. Spoiler alert: it was, in fact, far too much food. Highlights: The sourdough foccacia with whipped ricotta and honey is as very tasty and very filling. The spaghetti/caviar dish generally lived up to the hype, but was a bit heavy for me. The portion sizes here, generally are pretty decently sized, and make sense for sharing with another person. The Low Points: Rushed, service overall. I felt pressured to order very quickly. Food came very quickly. Drinks were almost a little slow, despite sitting at the bar. The pacing was just off overall. Too much food - should have ordered less (that's on me), but also I felt pressured to order things I wasn't sure I really wanted. The halibut crudo was okay - good flavor but just seemed heavy-handed on the cuts and textures. The monkfish + fusilloni is one of five least-liked dishes of 2025, very close to the top. The monkfish was so overcooked and chewy it was inedible altogether and the whole dish just felt very bland. At the end of the meal they tacked on an automatic service charge, which I'd never seen before in Copenhagen (maybe this is becoming more common, but I didn't see this at any of the restaurants of my trip.) Overall, pretty underwhelming meal and I'd be hesitant to go back. The price vs quality of the food + experience just didn't deliver for me. I liked the spaghetti butter caviar dish but also felt like I could make something like that at home. If you're trying to prioritize where to eat in Copenhagen and only have a few meals to choose from, this is skippable to me.

Cantina is an Italian restaurant located in central Copenhagen's Indre By district that serves a variety of dishes, including wood-fired pizzas and pasta. The pizza variety is great: salami picante with honey and mozzarella, white with ricotta and mozzarella and the classic Margherita. Their cocktails have great options too, from Elderflower, Aperol Spritz to Gin and Tonic. The pasta selections offer linguini with vongole, Spaghetti, Ravioli. I wanted a Danish beer to start thus ordered the Snub Juice IPA; citrus all the way. It knocked my socks off. I savored every sip! I opted for the Margherita Pizza which offers a generous "personal pizza " size. Their pizza tasted delicious, we are talking Brooklyn-Copenhagen style! It is not to be missed! I loved the charred crust, the mozzarella was gooey and yummy with nice pieces of basil. Lastly, the sauce was light not overwhelming. Every bite was a knockout! For dessert I opted for the Caramel Gelato; one scoop of heaven in a glass ( see pics). It was a nice way of topping off the meal. Fredericka, my waitress was great; super accommodating, personable and professional. The vibe here is my vibe: combo of low key/ chilling/ crack open the champagne and eat and be merry! The bar is also a nice looking bar.. a bar I could easily spend a lot of time at. A million taks ( thank you in Danish).
