I was walking around looking for a Pizzeria... and found this Italian restaurant... I read the reviews on Yelp, and decided to give them a try.
Upon arrival i discovered that they are not a Pizzeria, but an upclass Italian restaurant. You get the choice of a 3 or 5 course dinner. As i have not had a high quality Italian meal in weeks, i decided to have a go at it.
First. The staff were extremely attentive, pleasant and helpfull. I decided to go with a glass of sparkling white wine. As soon as the wine had been poured, a member of the staff replaced it, as she had correctly noticed that the wine was slightly flat! Well spotted! :)
Secondly: The meal was of a very high quality. One of the highlights for me was the Risotto, The texture was perfect, Even though they did not serve the classic take on Risotto. Their composition was very good. I was also served octopus, this is something I have never found pleasant before. But they had managed to bring out some great flavours, and I ate it all... The dessert was a delicious lemon pie with a scoop of ice-cream, this was a great end to a great meal.
Third. The atmosphere was very nice, a simple and small restaurant. The entrance is not easy to spot, as there was some scaffolding placed up against the wallls. But the entrance door is on the corner, just keep your eyes open.
Note! When you decide to visit Famo, make sure you have not eaten for some days... they serve you a lot of food... and the food is too good, to leave any leftovers on the plates. read more
