I gave it a try and it was good for what it's suppose to be, but again, not my vibe on a normal occasion. Cannot wait to eat here again! This is truly the most flavorful food, I've had while in Denmark and i highly recommend when visiting or a cute date night or friends catching up!

John was amazing and helped us navigate through the menu. Although we wanted to do the 4 course tasting menu, everything on the a la carte menu looked delicious. Veggies were good too Linguine with seafood - delicious with lots of seafood. I especially loved the lobster Lasagna - delicious and there was nothing left on the plate Bolognese - delicious. The place is hard to find, no signs or lights mark the restaurants presence. But nonetheless, it is a buzzing local gem. Don't count on getting a seat without a booked table. The menu is fixed so you dont know what you get - fair but this put the chef in a position where he/she needs to please all with the 8 courses. 7 fish dishes is not ok - especially when your sister restaurant is 100% fish - then you dont also expect this to be 100% fish. we even asked before we started, "is everything fish" - No the risotto is not fish (but it was, it was Clearly made on fish stock and had dried fish eggs sprinkled on top) We asked to have the Oister switched for one of our 5 guests (allergy) to something NOT fish, since she was not a big fan of fish, and she got a sardin. IF we had know it was 100% fish, then 3 of the 5 would still have had a good time, 1 dislike fish and 1 dont eat fish. But well we were here, had ordered a table - and the menu was not all fish when i Asked while doing the booking. And since the waiter said the Risotto (pretty filling main course) was NOT fish we thought... well ok no on will go hungry. 3 things that make me reward you with 1 start, witch i Normally only give if i leave the place is this: 1) 100% fish on a fixed 8 course menu is a really stupid choice. 2) when you have a fixed menu it must be perfect, and the risotto had the consistency of a soupe, this is not how risotto is supposed to be 3) the coffee for the desert in a clearly Italian themed restaurant was thin and tastless (No espressos, even though you have 10+ espresso machines on display in the kitchen ?)

We would have loved to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful evening, but Europe has not gotten the message about smoking not being good for you. They sit at restaurants and smoke like chimneys. We sat indoors to avoid the smoke and it was fine. They bring you a basket of bread ~ delicious ~ we had a salad and stuffed ravioli. While dining, I noticed a woman outside eating a very delicious looking dish with a creamy sauce, not a red sauce. However, this was some of the best ravioli we had ever eaten. We enjoyed our dinner so much, we returned 2 nights later with friends. They, too, were shocked at the high level of delicious Italian food in Copenhagen. The second night I did order the pasta with a creamy mushroom sauce and thoroughly enjoyed it. Yeah, I read the negative reviews. With doors and windows open wouldn't you expect bugs to be flying about? We had no issues with friendliness and service. Even the restaurants in America start to clean and close down as tables are vacated, what's the big deal with that?

Like completely out of this world sophisticated and damn tasty. The menu offerings are very limited, but this is a good sign. How can that be you ask? They do a few things and do them to perfection. The house specialty is the risotto, which my friend had. Since his dish has scallops, I did not partake in sampling but according to him it was among the top five risottos he had ever had. They had an Argentine ribeye as a special, and I was "this" close to ordering it but for some reason my eyes kept focusing on the cannelloni. So I went against my instinct and went with the cannelloni. So how good was it? Like OMFG! Great! This dish is very light, but each bite was absolutely delectable. The root vegetables (wish I knew what those little suckers were) complemented the cannelloni like they were made for each other. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/ristorante-retro-gusto-københavn?select=twPY2kP5Jpxr__i4nq1XnA#twPY2kP5Jpxr__i4nq1XnA .
