After seeing decent reviews, I decided to try Caribbean Eatz Restaurant and Grill. I ordered the Jerk Chicken with Rice and Peas. Service was quick and efficient. I noticed online that they offer mac and cheese and wanted to add it to my order, but I was told it would not be ready for a while. Since it was already past lunch time, that was a little surprising. One thing they do well is portion size. The serving was very generous and easily enough for more than one meal. They are not shy with the oxtail gravy, and that gravy was rich and flavorful. The rice and peas were also solid, well cooked and nicely balanced. Where the experience fell short was the jerk chicken. Authentic jerk should have bold seasoning, depth, heat, and that unmistakable smoky flavor from proper preparation. This tasted more like baked chicken with minimal seasoning. It lacked the spice profile and complexity that defines true jerk. For a dish that is meant to be the highlight, it simply did not deliver. Overall, the portions and sides show promise, but when you are craving authentic Jamaican jerk, flavor is everything. That signature kick and seasoning just were not there. They took my order immediately and prepared everything under 5mins. I really enjoyed their perfectly cooked fluffy peas and rice. Thank you for such an amazing experience. The only reason I gave it four stars was due to the chicken being slightly warm and cool. Everything else was perfectly made.

CGRT is an NYC-style spot, the physical appearance and food quality is very authentic in that aspect. For me, the hardest part about living in Florida has finding good food spots, so CGRT gets a thumbs up in my book. The first few times I've visited CGRT, I've ordered the gyro (combo) over rice plate and the curry chicken with roti. Both are excellent. I'm not a big fan of curry chicken but theirs is one of the best I've had. The roti was very soft and tasty. The last time I visited CGRT, I ordered the jerk flavored wings with vegetable lo mein. That was really good! I honestly didn't expect much but the quantity and flavor of the food was really good. It's a spicy meal so prepare yourself, but it not over-the-top so don't worry. I'm willing to bet everything else on the menu is really good as well. I just wish they had a better drink selection. There is never more than one or two selections, which I just don't understand. Otherwise, hit up CGRT if you haven't already. You won't be disappointed.

Terrible Customer Service & Repeated Disrespect…read more Unfortunately, after multiple experiences here, I can no longer recommend or support this establishment. Being that Deltona does not have many Caribbean restaurants, my mother has continued trying to support this small business despite several issues with incorrect or incomplete orders over time. The biggest issue is not even always the food, it's the customer service from the man working the counter. Every single time we've had to address a missing item or incorrect order, he has been rude, dismissive, and disrespectful instead of trying to resolve the issue professionally. Today was the final straw. My mother waited over an hour for 3 orders, only to realize that part of the food she already paid for was missing. She then had to drive back to the restaurant to get the missing items. When I explained that it was unfair for her to wait an additional 25 minutes after already spending over an hour there, the employee immediately became defensive, cut us off while speaking, raised his voice, and was once again extremely disrespectful. At this point, this is no longer an isolated incident. This has become a consistent pattern every time there is an issue with an order. Customers should not be treated poorly simply for asking for the food they paid for or trying to correct a mistake. I truly wanted to support this business, but repeated bad experiences and unacceptable customer service have made that impossible. I will no longer be recommending this restaurant to anyone.

I was getting together with some friends and we ordered from Negril. Luckily, a couple of my friends are Jamaican and they helped steer me to some new faves! Food I'd highly recommend: - Brown stew chicken meal with rice and peas, fried plantain, and stewed cabbage. This dish is rich and has the potential for leftovers if you're not starving. For the uninitiated, Jamaican rice and peas consist of red kidney beans and rice that's cooked in broth, coconut milk, and tons of aromatic spices. This isn't your white rice and green peas type of situation. I could have eaten this rice on its own, but add in the brown stew sauce and WOW. Also, I love the cabbage side because it adds a vinegary note that offsets the rich stew. Note: The chicken is cut up and includes bones. - Coco bread: This is a Jamaican style bun baked with coconut milk. It's especially good when paired with a patty in the middle (yes, the coco bread around the patty! Carb heaven!). - Festival: Jamaican festival is a sweet fried dough made with cornmeal, flour, sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and milk aka a dumpling. Yes this is as good as it sounds- especially for soaking up brown stew gravy! I was BLOWN away to see an entire veggie section of the menu (for online ordering) featuring soya veggie chunks (a soy based option with the consistency of chicken). That's a HUGE deal for those of us with vegetarians in the family. Overall, delicious Jamaican food that I'll definitely order again!

The dishes were delicious and the place was clean and well maintained. However, during my visit today, I witnessed something that made me uncomfortable. The manager her name sounded like Aslenis or Arianis was questioning a customer about discounts and the price he paid. She leaned over his table in a way that felt confrontational and, honestly, came across as harassment. The customer handled it calmly and said he didn't want to argue, but she responded with a smirk, which made the situation feel even more awkward. I also noticed her speaking to other employees in a way that felt more bossy than respectful. Aside from that experience, the food really is great though a bit on the expensive side. I just hope management takes a closer look at how situations like this are handled, because it affects the overall atmosphere. Responding to the owner: I heard when the dude said I showed my ID. Either way the way she approached him wasn't professional. If the issues is about a discount then it shouldn't have been applied in the first place. She is quite rude. Thank you for clarifying the situation was just unpleasant to experience while trying to eat.

From the first bite, the flavors hit perfectly. The meats were seasoned and cooked just right, layered with fresh toppings that brought balance and texture to every mouthful. There's a richness to it, but it never feels overwhelming--just straight-up satisfying comfort food done right. Now, I'll be honest--the bread was slightly on the soggy side. But here's the thing... it didn't take away from the experience. If anything, it soaked up all that flavor, and once you leaned into it, it worked. Every bite still delivered. Pairing it with a Coco Rico? That was the move. The coconut sweetness cut through the savory flavors of the sandwich perfectly--it's one of those combinations you don't realize you need until you try it. Even though I ordered pickup, the experience still stood out. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and gave off that genuine "you're family here" vibe that you can't fake. 10/10--absolutely recommend. This is the kind of spot you come back too an enjoy great food
