Had both the gelato and the traditional tiramisu here. Both were great. When ordering take away, the servers ask when you will eat the the tiramisu (which at first seemed odd) but they later explained why. They will give you a non refrigerated one if it will be eaten within 40 min. If not, they will give one that was in the fridge. I got the latter and ate it the next morning! My family split an original and strawberry. The ladyfinger:mascarpone ratio definitely skews more mascarpone, but it's delicious regardless. I came here with intentions of getting the tiramisu, but walked out with tiramisu and gelato. It was my last day in Italy, so why the hell not. Pompi had a good selection of both fruit and chocolate gelatos. The lemon gelato I ordered turned out to be more like a sorbet, while the dark chocolate gelato was dense and rich. Absolute treat. I was also able to try my friend's mango and mint chip gelato and both were equally delicious. I had to wait a bit post gelato before I dug into my box of classic tiramisu. I am a very big fan of tiramisù, and I heard that Pompi offers up some of the best in Roma. I stopped in after lunch and bought a large container of the classic flavor for only four euros. Very easy location, touristic and famous place, close to Spanish steps. Every knows and suggests Pompi if you are going to Rome:) The place is in the narrow street with full of cafes and restaurants. To-go is the only option. Many kinds of tiramisu (strawberry, blackberry etc.) are available. I tasted tiramisu since it is the traditional and suggested one. Very usual taste. Price was 4 eur which is cheap for Rome. Actually I will not prefer to eat tiramisu once more. The best thing was to eat while sitting on the Spanish steps and feel the atmosphere. I will try any other dessert for the next time. The inner place needs to be renewed. And it would be nice if there is a place to sit outside. Stopped in after finding this place listed as one of the best tiramisu places in Rome. The place is very "cool" inside for lack of a better term - dark colored walls, music, definitely a higher end feel. The employees are well dressed and able to answer questions if you have them. We opted to try the original and hazelnut tiramisu. Very convenient, each is already packed individually in these little cute boxes. They even have a little spoon inside so you can eat on the go. There isn't any room to eat inside or outside, so that is a bummer. They do sell other treats like pastries and gelato, which looked delicious, but we just couldn't eat anymore after the tiramisu (and we had plans to check out a cannoli place afterwards). We both liked the original better than the hazelnut, but definitely liked the crunch the hazelnuts in the other one. Definitely share if you can, I felt like I was buzzing for a solid hour after eating one, in fact it was a bit difficult to finish because of the sweetness. But it was definitely a cute shop and worth checking out. They had other flavors as well like strawberry, banana, and chocolate, but I suspect sticking with the original is the way to go. 4€ a piece, it won't break the bank and makes for a nice afternoon stop! Stopped into Pompi while I was in Rome because I heard from a friend that the tiramisu is amazing. For 4 Euro I got a tiramisu that was big enough for two. But it was so delicious that I ate the whole thing myself! I went with the classic tiramisu, but there were many different flavors. This Pompi location is right next to the Spanish Steps, so it is very convenient for tourists to go to. Pompi also has other desserts that looked tasty as well. read more

For about 4 euro you get a ginormous serving of tiramisu and they have several flavors. I went with the original and it's really too much for one person, but it's delicious! Be warned that the tiramisu does come out of the fridge, so I don't think it's actually made here or anything. I'm not sure why this place is so hyped up. I went with the Fragola (strawberry) Tiramisu because I love berries and the picture showed fresh strawberries on top. Perhaps other flavors are better. The cake was soggy and the strawberries were also soggy. The place was empty when we came in and there was no signage directing us. We first went to the dessert counter only to rudely be told that the rules are to pay at the cashier first. There are no signs explaining this. There usually are several kinds, most of them permanent (classic, hazelnut, strawberry...) and 1 or 2 seasonal (pina colada during 2015 summer) - so everybody can find something they like (and if they don't, Pompi also sells gelati). But. IT SOOOO LOOKS LIKE FROZEN TIRAMISUS. I mean, the expiry date is in 3 to 4 MONTHS. And it is served in cardboard boxes that scream "just out of the plant". It came to my attention that tiramisu originated in Rome, so of course I had to go find the best tiramisu in the city. The internet seemed to agree that Pompi has the best tiramisu, so I came by to try it. It comes in a box with a wrapped plastic spoon, and the tiramisu is indeed quite tasty. There's too much cream and too little cake for my liking, but the cake is very very very moist and delicious, and the cream is quite creamy and smooth though a bit too sweet. I really wish there were more cake! The tiramisu is also quite big; it can definitely be shared among two or three people! Location is very convenient, right by the Spagna metro stop and the Spanish Steps. Definitely stop by if you're a fan of tiramisu; for €4 for the box, it's not too expensive. Other than stuff you'd buy at local trattoria's, i.e. Trattoria Vecchia Roma, this stuff is fantastico! One order is large enough for two people. Usually not a trimusu fan but when in Italy, you need to eat trimusu because it's nothing like back home in the US. Trust me, it's that good. To start, this review is for the gelato, not the tiramisu. Perhaps next time I will try the tiramisu that this place is known for. Unlike most other gelato places, the man behind the counter only gave me one scoop of pistachio instead of letting me choose two flavors (I got the small). Good to Great! Walked a majority of the day to find the "best tiramisu" in Rome. It was a quaint little cafe. The classic tiramisu was very good but be prepared that it is in a box. Most likely manufactured and not made freshly. But it was still very good. The reviews on the staff are pretty much spot on. Not very personable or friendly. They handed me my box of tiramisu and I looked around for a spoon for a couple of minutes and then I asked if I could have a spoon. Without looking at me they shared "it's in the box". Perhaps another way to provide that information up front would have been more helpful and a little better customer experience.
