I love the online book hold system--so convenient: 1. sign in using your library card number and your passcode, 2. look up the book you're interested in, 3. it'll tell you if any copies are available 4. Request hold, then you'll get an email when it's ready for pickup. 5. Go in during business hours and pick up the book! 6. Staff at the library are friendly and helpful too! Of course browsing in person is best, but when you're busy then this is a good alternative (especially when friends are recommending books to you). Picked up a book today and it was a breeze. Took 7 minutes from parking to picking up to leaving for home. :) read more

Lovely walk from Downtown Pomona, and can't wait to see the new park open and have the fountain up and running again! Great staff, always a delight and front desk staff especially, always helpful and polite, and just love the book recommendations every time I go! A staff that reads is a good employee indeed :) Looks like it will be a good summer here at the library!! read more

Front desk staff is really rude. I was trying to ask for help with printing. Young girl with bandana and curly hair is rude and passive aggressive. I'd rather pay more money at the UPS store than have an interaction with her again. read more

Today I was at the library and there was this very rude woman with curly hair and a bandana. I've been here multiple times and used to study here after my Masters classes. Not sure what happened to polite customer service here... read more

Kind of on the old and dingy side. The website says they have a free scanner. This is false. They don't have any scanner at all and will instead walk you through how to do it on your own phone at the reference desk. read more

This library has been remolded a little bit. The last time I was here, they had extra new books and magazines. New computers and all. Library is large with lots of resources. They are located right by their Courthouse and Police Station. Its nicely clean now. Staff are nice and professional. Library has changed a lot since back than when I lived by here. read more

nice and friendly staff. my kids enjoy it they even have free books up front that I enjoy read more

Still love this library. It has gone through some changes over time though. Unfortunately there hours are cut. (1-7 pm monday through thursday) and there are wayyy more homeless people sitting around outside and inside, although they dont really bother me. Large variety of books but some of then are torn and falling apart. They need to retire those already:( I usually go to the kids section( 2 boys under 5) and they love it here. The have homework help and games on the computer for them. One last down side is that they dont have much a selection of baby books. Overall i will always love this library just because it has an original feel of what a library is. read more

What can I say? MY DAUGHTER AND I LOVE THIS PLACE! We have been coming to this location for now 2 years, and we have became regulars every week. The Children's Center or Youth Center is great. The selection of books (such as picture books, easy reader, chapter books, and reference books) are all in great condition and well organized. Crystal who works in that section is AMAZING!! She is beyond friendly, kind, helpful and very knowledgeable on books that children would love. She does story time for the smaller children and she's always the one in charge of special events! Now talking about special events. Have you taken your child to the library in the summer? Wow are you missing out! Not only is there a summer reading program that will help the children improve with reading, but there are small prizes for the kids who complete their log! They also have special performers that entertain the kiddos once a week for a couple hours. Throughout the school year there other events that are fun and worth the time. For example Dr. Seuss's birthday celebration. (The one thing that could better within time of the amount of children's DVDs that are available for a week loan, THEY ACCEPT MOVIE DONATIONS!) There's tutoring and computers available all year round. In the other sections of the library there's a big inventory of adult reads too. There's a book store inside the facility that has used books for sale for low prices. Also one a month there is a book sale in the parking lot were they sell books for 10 cents! All kinds of books... Children's books, nonfiction, fiction, resource books, school books, etc. The sale takes place every second Saturday of the month from 12-2pm! Now the cherry on top for me are the ladies in the front desk, they are sensational! They are so kind and welcoming it feels like we are at home when we walk in! What a great place to be in, considering the location and people who linger around. The Pomona Library is the silver lining of the city, and it is much appreciated by my daughter and myself. Thank you everyone there who have helped me and given me advice to help better my daughter's love of reading and excellence towards school! read more

Pomona Public Library - Libraries Near Me - Pomona, California

I love libraries. I'm thankful this place is here. I had to work on a project but the university was closed, so the library provided a warm dry place to plug in a laptop and get work done. Will definitely be back to check it out more. read more

I love this library. I grew up falling in love with reading here. My mom and I used to walk with my wagon and I would pile books into it so I can take them all home. :) It's sad how many homeless are here in the surrounding area. It gets awkward. Can't even go inside without being asked for spare change. It's actually the main reason why I don't visit as often anymore... read more

I wandered into Pomona off the interstate recently and and spent a day recovering from a conference where I binged on a lot of new information and incidentally slept almost not at all. I was impressed with the library, which felt welcoming, unlike many I have encountered. Notably, if you don't live in LA County you can use the computers anyway on a one-time basis for a dollar, and yes, the library does seem to be doing an excellent job of providing an oasis of knowledge to the local children. One small disappointment, not really anyone's fault -- there was a gorgeous flowering tree out front and nobody seemed to know what it was. Sure, I have been in bigger libraries, but this isn't the library of Congress, yo, it's a community library which seems to serve its community very well. read more

This library is absolutely horrible. It's surrounded by homeless vagabonds. I've been harassed several times just when looking to rent a book. The selection is terrible. They only offer old ancient books in English with a small selection in Spanish and Chinese. The automatic check-out machine is broken beyond repair, there is no selection of DVD's, or video games. It opens at 1p.m. so if you wake up at 6am you will have to wait for 7 hours to check out a book. This library desperately needs investors. I don't mean thousands of dollars either. They need a fundraiser to raise at least one million dollars. I mean this library really needs investors too. I've lived in this city for almost a year and only 40% of people in this city are even literate. read more

Lots of internet pc's here no wait list. A city library you need to be a resident to access it. This is a rather large library with a large children's area/section, with child friendly internet as well. Printing will cost here and you need to load a printer card up with funds. They have slightly unusual hours so you may want to call in advance and check the hours (909) 620-2043. read more

Great library. I love using their computers there to talk to friends. As a matter of a fact, that's how I met my young black girlfriend. I also recently made a friend named Luke. He seems like a nice boy who dreams of being a model. I'ma meet him this Saturday at his Riverside house. So yeah, great library. I recommend going there to talk to friends and read books. read more

This library is the hub of the community and has been for well over 100 years. I have used this library for almost all my life and it has provided many hours of reading pleasure, resource utilization for my schooling, and many hours of relaxation and quiet. Now it is threatened. Hard to believe that a gem such as this is in jeopardy. I invite everyone to come enjoy YOUR library as I (and many others) have done for many years! read more

The Pomona Public Library is a safe haven and a repository for knowledge. Over the years, I grew to recognize the faces who served the library. I spent countless hours sitting in the stacks reading about my culture, world cultures, geography, biographies, art, and poetry. I was thrilled to check out books by the bundles. The library was where I found inspiration to be a journalist through Journalist Nellie Bly and have an interest in politics because of reading the biography of the Second First Lady of the United States Abigail Adams. Meanwhile, they even had books in language for my mom to check out. The Friends of the Library hosted a book scholarship contest then which I earned and it helped me pay for books in college. Studying subject matter that mattered broadened my horizons before I went to university and still does to this day. It's where I go to check out reference books for my art students and where I continue my publicly funded continuing education without the ridiculous tuition hike. read more

Had a couple of hours to kill between appointments in Pomona so I figured why not go to the library. Well because the main library is closed on Friday and Saturday. I get budget cuts but you would be hard pressed to find two days when the library is more likely to be in use. Sad. read more
