You get 2" of crust, a slathering of sauce and half the toppings compared to most pizza chains. That's how they offer them BOGO. Appears they are half price but actually you get half the toppings. Their pizza is basically tasteless. I'll go back for their main dashes. I'll go to Papa John's, Domino's or Pizza Hut for pizza. read more

The Italian wedding cake is disgusting and inauthentic. I honestly never had a worst Italian wedding cake. Also, drizzling the chocolate sauce on is not needed and just wrong. The ravioli vodka sauce is delicious. I wish the ravioli was smaller because the big ones just lead to mouthfuls of filling and no dough. What a gem! I've driven past so many times and thought noting of it. We ordered through bite squad and it was quick, still hot and so delicious! We got the kids pasta and meatball, chicken parm, eggplant parm, minestrone soup and a side salad. It came with 2 huge garlic bread sticks and they were pillowy and amazing. Don't know why but we finally went here with friends. The big surprise was the early menu, selection and really crazy low prices. We all had a good meals including desert plus wine. The dining room is well done, really comfortable and far more upscale than expected. We will be back. Then I'd like to comment on the check and lines added that need explanation. There is a line indicated as Extravaganza that looks like a $6.00 discount but isn't factored into the bill but what the heck is it? Not expected. Then at the end there is a Non-Cash Adjust line, it is less than $2 but no explanation why bill got padded that amount. Is there a charge for using a credit card or splitting a bill and if so be upfront about it? Lastly,a pet peeve, the "helpful" tip calculator which includes the tax in the calculation. I'd never stiff a server but no way in heck am I basing my tip on the taxes collected. So in closing I'm sensitive to these small things that appear in my bill. Just 2 weeks ago, a different restaurant, a "service" charge appeared in the bill, too small to be a forced tip. When we asked the server she was visibly uncomfortable with a lame explanation about the "back of the house". Really good place and could be better with a few tweaks. What was great: The staff are friendly and fun, even an owner walks around to make sure things are good. Pizza: Really good, loves of topping choices. Salads. Top notch, larged size, get one to share. What was not that bad: Wine was offered on menu, and the selections were not huge, but they had a few grapes and happy hour on house wines were not too bad, either. I would suggest a few more bottles of each grape and a few craft beers. The location was in a Publix shopping center, but once inside is quite nice with well done murals and a pleasant seating, waiting and bar areas. I had the Veal Parmigiana and it was pretty tasty. The two biggest complaints were that the "crust" was approached soggy, like it had been fried yesterday and maybe got moist. Definitely not the firm to crispy that I prefer. It was topped with a melted, but not golden baked/broiled cheese. Don't be afraid to make the customer wait for it to be golden brown. Really folks, the cheese should not turn into a long melted string. Brown it, turn it into the delicate tasty thing that only cooked cheese can become. Also with the veal I picked fettucine as the accompaniment. Very pleasing overall Ihope they learn to brown up the cheese. read more

I have recently visited this spot several times over the last few weeks. I like to visit a place a few times before writing a review to make sure they are consistent with service and food. I can I love the atmosphere here. The wall art is beautiful and the décor is lovely. The host and hostesses are always warm and friendly. once seated the fresh bread is so good. I could eat nothing else and be happy with the bread. My go-to is usually a lunch special like soup or salad. On my most recent visit, I got spaghetti with meat sauce. My special came with a salad or soup so I went with soup as their salad is pretty simply a little lettuce and few tomatoes. I can do that at home. I chose Pasta Fagioli which was more of a white bean soup. It did not have any pasta in it mainly white beans and a few tomatoes. I was not impressed. I have had their Minestrone soup which is amazing. My spaghetti was cook well and the sauce had a great flavor but was a little watery not hearty like most sauces are but it was flavorful so I was ok with it. Overall each time I have gone food has been good. Nothing to fancy like I said my salad was lettuce and a few cherry tomatoes, the soup was a hit and miss and pasta good. As for service that wasn't so good. Each time we go our waitresses seems to forget we're at their table. We rarely see them and our drinks go unfilled and we can rarely get them to come by to bring us anything from napkins to cheese. If the food and prices were not so good I would not return as service is not so good. Overall if you don't mind being ignored by your wait staff I say give the food a try it's pretty awesome. read more

Idk why but for some reason I was thirsty and was slurping down waters left and right but she kept up flawlessly!!! I never went without a drink! When you arrive you get complimentary bread- SO YUM YUM YUMMY! We got like 700 loaves and Abby gladly brought it to us. They have this dressing and it's really really really good! My husband got a personal pizza and I got a Stromboli. The Stromboli comes with mozzarella and ricotta cheese. I ordered it with pepperoni and bacon. When I ordered she told me about the ricotta and wanted to be sure I wanted the ricotta..I thought this was nice bc I didn't want it but she went the extra mile to make sure I was happy. Pomodoro Cafe is popular, however I would consider it a hidden gem just based on location. In north Gainesville, near Santa Fe College, this Italian restaurant serves up delicious meals. They have great daily deals, the best of which is the daily BOGO on pastas and sandwiches. They also have a great early bird special before 7pm called Extravaganza, which comes with an entree, salad, bread and balsamic reduction, and a dessert. The bread and balsamic reduction are so good, I could eat just for a meal (which you can absolutely do, as it is $1 per loaf with sauce). We got the open face calzone and the Al Forno Express combo. For $1 more you can get a tossed salad. The lunch calzone comes with the soup of the day and the house bread. You also get your two favorite add on picks with the lunch calzone. The soup of the day was the seafood soup and it was very good. The calzone was also very good. The Al Forno Express is cheese ravioli, gnocchi, ziti (all meatless) and very good. The beers were on the pricey side so we opted to not partake. Dinner came with salad or soup, I choose salad with raspberry vinaigrette dressing that was fresh and tasty. My dinner was lasagna which I liked, sauce was homemade and had lots of meat in it. We had some appetizer little slices of bread with cheese and other toppings. Very good and recommend. All the food and the desserts in the front showcase all looked delicious. Pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this place. It's a bit of a drive (especially because I live on the other side of town) but I would say it was worth it. Atmosphere: cozy but romantic, makes you feel as if you're eating in some small restaurant in Italy. As soon as you walk in, you are just blown away by the smell of fresh pizza, bread, and pasta. Service: 5/5 our waiter was attentive, offered recommendations, and still made us feel like we were being taken care of even though it was clear that he was in charge of a lot of other tables. Price: 4/5 sometimes they offer a BOGO carry out deal for their pizzas and entrees which I think is awesome. Their appetizers are reasonably priced at around $8-$10 and their entrees (pasta dishes) are about $14. Food: 4/5 their fresh baked bread was fluffy, warm, with some light garlic and salt on top. It comes with this balsamic vinegar dipping sauce that I was hesitant about at first bc it was so thick but you have to try the bread with it. The flavors just mesh so well together. We ordered the calamari which was a steal because that in itself was so huge you could just eat it as an entree. Not only does it come with calamari but with shrimp and zucchini as well. It's given with marinara sauce. The calamari pieces were huge and so tender and soft. The breading wasn't ridiculously thick either which I liked. For our entree, you get either a soup or salad. Their house salad comes with the same balsamic dressing as the bread. I got the potato soup which wasn't flavored as much as I would've liked. I could taste the celery a lot and being a non celery fan, I didn't enjoy the soup as much as I wanted to. For the entree we got the pork shank that's cooked in a tomato base with a lemon cheese like risotto. The risotto was so creamy and delicious, I would have just eaten that. For our second entree we got a seafood + chicken pasta dish that comes in a garlic lemon cream sauce which I personally enjoyed a lot. Overall, this is a place I would come back to. read more
