After a quick google search, I found Sunflower Orchard and was glad it wasn't too far of a drive. When we arrived, I will admit I was a bit disappointed by the size of the trees. I was hoping for large trees that the kids would have to climb up to get. The disappointment was short-lived because as soon as I tasted their fuji apple I was so excited to try other varieties. We grabbed a couple bags and went to explore their orchard and discovered some new varieties. Our favorites were the ultragold and winecrisp. There was a candy crisp that the kids also liked. There is a reason things are marked down so cheap; preparing a dinner for that evening - go for it. Stocking up for the week - think twice. My favorite bargains are when avocados are 4 / $1 or flats of bananas are $3. A great way to overindulge on some tasty guacamole (get the seasoning next door) or a cheap healthy treat for the office staff. If I lived in the neighborhood, I'd visit daily and knock down my grocery bill by 75%.

It is worth noting a couple of things: the admission price covers a great deal of the activities inside but not everything, so check the website for exclusions. Further, the food prices felt like we were inside an amusement park. For reference, a turkey leg cost $16, which nearly matched the cost of a turkey leg in Los Angeles' Disney California Adventure Park's price (~$16.50).

Well this time I watched and immediately put my blinker on and made the exit (it's hidden by trees right as you come around the corner). It's a medium smaller sized store with some produce and cider and cider donuts! The donuts are by the cash register in brown paper bags and sold by half dozen bags for just under $5 with tax. They are really good! I'm used to the ones in Louisburg south of Overland Park, but these are softer and more fluffy cake cider donuts covered in more cinnamon and sugar. They are worth the stop! I saw they have cider ice cream too, but didn't try it.
