Also, why would competing markets have the same hours/days? Granted, I am from a bigger southern city which has all the various markets on different hours/days. For instance, the 2 biggest ones: one on Saturday, one on Sunday. Various smaller ones in different neighborhoods during the week. This is also ideal for the vendors. Yes, I may be spoiled ... But as a market aficionado I am bummed to have zero reason to drive across town to visit two on the same day. Alas.

The merchandise has a good variety, and their prices are competitive with most other retail grocers. If you ask for something, you can bet that they will go out of their way to fill that request. I was blown away and incredibly appreciative of such great service. For a gift basket of 3 cheeses, sausage, beef sticks, crackers, jelly, and a cutting board and knife, it was only $65! They also threw in a couple of chocolates and a handwritten card to make it special :) Everything (I'm told) was super tasty, with the Habanero Ghost Pepper cheese being a favorite. All three were very good and was impressed. The brisket was probably my favorite. It had a good bark, was very moist, great flavor, and perfect tenderness. They are in the processes of fixing up the slow ride bar and I think they will have a great place once it is done. I look forward to this being a great place to stop by for good BBQ in Lawrence.
