This food was so good! First time here. My wife told me she used to come as a kid and hadn't been In a while. We came for fried yuca and left full off a good Cuban sandwich, chicken bowl plus the yuca. The best part was the sauces. The cilantro garlic and pineapple salsa were amazing. The other sauces were good too but those were our favorites. Best of all, the staff was incredibly nice and patient with us as I had never been and had some questions. I always get a bite to eat at this place. The Last order ( BOTH) was so horrible. The Rice barely cooked. Chicken- ( This has happened a long time ago too but I did not call but just dumped it ) I don't know what to say. I always did a take out order. Make sure you have plenty of time to wait. They don't seem to care if the line is out the door, they just take their time and are not in any hurry to make the line move faster. The condiment bar runs out of stuff all the time, again, they seem to not really care. Whatever is happening to this chain is not good. I've been so pleased with the Pantry items offered by Pollo Tropical during this pandemic. Today I ordered a bunch. Chicken skewer pack, steak skewer pack, whole marinated chicken, pan of rice, pan of black beans plus yummy sauces. The store is clean and everyone wore masks. The prices are a great value. Best chicken! Lots of leftover veggies after making the kabobs. I highly recommend. The manager is friendly and helped me bring my food to my car. read more

Stopped here last night after dropping my son off at the nearby Boy Scout camp. The service was VERY quick. A counter employee cheerfully greeted me as I entered the queue. My order was immediately taken and my food delivered in less than 5 minutes after entering the restaurant. That's great but my Chicken TropiChop was bland. It tasted like it had no seasoning. I've eaten in a number of South American chicken ("pollo") restaurant up and down the east coast, and this place doesn't deserve the name. Their chicken pieces are well enough cooked but quite small. Black beans are runny and completely missing the most basic ingredient, cumin. Their prize chicken sandwich is small on the chicken and large on the bread. Their "bread rolls" taste like supermarket parkerhouse. In general, the food is tasteless and boring. Look elsewhere. read more

I can certainly understand why the ratings are so low, raw chicken isn't on anybody's agenda. Not only did they serve me raw chicken they threw it back on the grill which browned the skin but didn't cook the meat and I know this because I carry a meat thermometer. chicken needs to be cooked to 180° internal temperature. They also would not refund my money because I ordered through the app (which sucks is much is everything else here) and now I have to disputes the charge with my credit card company. Lousy service raw chicken a recipe for disaster. The fact that they did not care that they were serving raw chicken came shining through, so I would not eat here and less you want a visit from the food poisoning fairy. The food is awesome when it is not burned to jerky. Half of my college life was tropichops which are delicious little bowls of rice, meat and veggies. Eating inside is better than togo because of all the wonderful sauces. Other winners are the maduros and the rolls.
