Early the next morning, I had a message from Adam B. Once I got to work, I returned the call and quickly described my issue and what I believed it to be. The first available appointment wasn't until Monday (it wasn't urgent, so I wasn't worried about going the weekend). I got my timeframe. I had a couple other appointments that day, so I ended up taking the day off so I could easily be available. I immediately liked that they told me who would be arriving - AND that was who arrived. I also liked that they use a customer portal that allows you to have some security if you pay online or to review your records. Christian arrived (there was one other person with him). It took him a couple minutes to diagnose the issue he believed it to be, and it took him not a lot longer to determine that diagnosis correct. He quoted the price, I agreed, and he got to work. After finishing the work, he determined the original issue I'd believed it to be wasn't quite needing to be addressed (but will be in the near future). We discussed options, including ways I could save a bit. Christian was personable and explained things in a way I could understand. The issue was likely caused by me, but he managed to avoid using the word "idiot" at any point. The repair was done in a timely manner. The price ended up being a bit lower than quoted. I appreciated his honesty as he very easily could have pointed me toward a repair not needing done yet. It also became obvious the last person I'd used had really only done half the job. Everything has worked beautifully since Christian finished. There are likely a couple more projects I'll tackle in the near future, and I won't hesitate to return to Grateful Plumber. The housecall was $59, but that was credited toward the repair once I decided to have them do the work. Friendly employees. Good follow-through. Fair pricing. Quality work. Problem solved. That's 5-star for me and another winner for Yelp's project feature.

We have had sewage going into our sump system since Jordan and Sara from Summers plumbing repaired a drain in our basement. This was a very large repair ($5000.00) that included jack hammering the concrete basement floor from the drain to sump. While in there Summers' technicians connected the wrong pipe to our sump basin and we have had a steady flow of sewage in there and having the sump pump constantly running and a very unhealthy environment for my family. We had to leave the home and were not able to return until the sewage source was rectified. On 9/23/2026 we received a letter from the Montgomery County Health Department stating they took a sample of the sump discharge and found greater than 2419.6 of e.coli in their sample. They collected another sample and got the same results. This prompted my call to Summers plumbing. On 9/28/2026 their technician John came to our house and we went into the basement first and he saw the 4" PVC pipe in the sump that his company installed in March 2026 flowing sewage. Every time the sump pump would empty the pit, that pipe would continue to flow and refill the pit with sewage. He disregarded this fact and went to the septic tank and diagnosed that the main pipe from the house to septic tank was separating 10' from the septic tank and that was causing the flow into our house. He also told me that we needed to disconnect the pipe that exited to the street. He said that the cost would be $10,000.00. Myself and my wife asked him if that would fix the problem of the sewage coming into the house. He said that: "It will 100% take care of our problem and he would come back after the repair and clean the sewage soot built up in our sump pit". The next day 9/29/2026 the excavation crew came to my house and replaced the pipe from the house to septic tank, and removed the pipe to the street and dug a pit for the discharge. I watched as they dug up the pipe and not one spot was wet or muddy, leading me to seriously doubt that this was necessary or was the problem. I gave them a check for $9000.00 and held the rest until the sump pit was cleaned. On 9/30/2026 John came to my door and the first thing he asked was for the other check which I already had made out. He went downstairs and using a wet vac and paper towels he cleaned the pit. When he showed me the pit, he had to evacuate the water that was still coming in. We have a good security system and caught him on the side of our house emptying the wet vac contents (sewage soot) onto our side lawn and. cleaning his vacuum with our side spicket. This is not only very unprofessional but very unhealthy for my family. I have the video of this happening. I called Summers the next day because the smell was still very bad and the sump pit kept filling up. The fumes and gasses were so bad that I had to open the windows, put a rag under our basement door and wear an automotive painter's mask if I needed to go downstairs. On 10/3/26 another Summers tech, Mike, came to our house to diagnose where the smell was coming from. He was able to get a camera line through the pipe that Jordan and Sara hooked up and told me that it ran to the septic tank and he would have to come back with specialized equipment to be able to locate exactly where the pipe went. I called the office in Brownsburg and spoke with Kory (general manager) and told him we were out of town and I was willing to drive over an hour to let him and David into the house to run the specialized equipment. They ran the special camera and found that the pipe putting sewage into our sump was indeed the same pipe that Jordan and Sara hooked into our sump pit in March. At first Kory said that the pipe was full of roots and they would have to charge me more to dig it up and cap it. I told him that the pipe was hooked up by your company I was not paying to dig and cap it. After a while he finally agreed to dig it up. I waisted pretty much a full day and drive over an hour each way on Monday to try to get this matter taken care of. on 10/8/26 the excavation crew arrived and dug up the side of my house by where the sun pit is and I was told they kept the pipe that Jorge and Sarah tapped into in March. I was told that the pipe was capped off. Kory told me that that pipe went to a perimeter drain. Makes no sense because of the amount of sewage and flow through that pipe. It has not rained here in over a month. That repair fixed 0% of my problem. I told him I wanted we paid to have it repaired and refund on $179 for prepaid maintenance package. The problem was caused back in March by his company. He flat out said no way. I wrote a letter to the VP of operations. I called the location after not recreceiving a call back I was told I couldn't speak to him.
