They fixed my heater the same day I called. The tech was nice and worked quickly. I will use them again.

These guys have CONSISTENTLY recommended extra charges, repairs, replacement for our units that were unnecessary. Once we were able to research and repair our a/c unit ourselves for less than $100 they they quoted over $500. Most recently, the tech gave a $2500 quote to repair our furnace unit but immediately said it wasn't worth it and set up for us to get quotes for them to replace it (those quotes were from $10-22k). After getting a second opinion (different company), it was repaired DURING the service call for $125! This tech said the unit was in great condition and simply needed the snow cleared from the intake pipe. The second tech assured us that we should get another 5-10 years from our furnace after Summer's has tried to get us to replace it consistently the last 2 years. This was the last straw and I cancelled the contract with Summer's

Every time the furnace…read moreswitched on, the enducer motor made a noticeable clicking noise as it drew in air through the roof jack. I was worried that the bearings were bad, so after 3.5 months of listening to it, I called to ask about possibly having bad bearings. Kirby sent out an employee to check it out. They replaced the enducer motor part, and it continued making the same noise. They replaced that one, and the noise continued. Robert Kirby came out and listened, and thought it might be the roof jack causing some air obstruction, so they replaced the roof jack. That made no difference. They wanted to charge me around $395 and I talked them down to the price back in October of around $345. This was before it was installed. To make a long story short, the enducer was replaced at least 2 times. There was no change in the noise. Over 3.5 months, they'd made 5-7 trips out to figure out the problem. Robert came out twice, one day with Steve, the rep from their supplier R.E. Mitchel Co., and they took the motor part apart and looked at it. Robert told me that Steve said that was the motor Nordine used in all sizes of their furnaces, and there was nothing they would do about it. I'd brought up possibly insulating it during the meeting. Robert knew what to use. They sent out an employee to insulate it, and it cut the noise in half. I wish they had a deeper understanding of the Nordine furnace up front. That's why I gave them 4 stars. They tried to figure it out and fix it. I would not have bought it had I known. The flange on the new roof jack leaves an inch of space with the slope of the roof. The gap has been stuffed full of silicone and will probably draw attention during an inspection when I sell the mobile home. I'm unsure if the motor bearings are being strained and will eventually give out. I've ended up spending 3.5 months with this problem on my mind. I have a furnace that has a defective or strained enducer motor. I appreciate that Robert promised me a free '26 fall inspection and '27 spring inspection to check on the motor. Although I wish we didn't have to worry about it. I was billed for the roof jack even though it was not the source of the problem. I told Eileen I'd split the cost with them. Her compromise has me paying $50 more than my half. I'm dissatisfied with that, as it was installed as a result of their misdiagnosis in the first place. Kirby Heating & Air was recommended to me by a friend who has retired from owning a commercial heating/air company. Kirby is a good company with a very qualified staff. I'm not happy with how my furnace purchase finally turned out, but I am grateful for the effort they made trying to make it right. Use Kirby Heating, but do not buy a Nordine product.

They have an uncommon sense of customer care in a humanitarian sense that's sadly lacking today. Background: We got hit by the perfect storm: very cold weather sets in, evening, weekend. And now let's add I'm home convalescing from Covid all of a sudden, my heat pump decides to die. No problem I call my 24/7 contract tech AIRTRON. They tell me since there's a Covid case in my home they will not respond, PERIOD! I have to wait a minimum of 10 days. I sadly start pleading, saying I've been a loyal monthly paying sap for over 2 years, that I promise to remain indoors, that the heat pump is outside, that since it's iced it's an outside problem, that I will do everything by phone. That if the problem is inside then I understand, but if it's outside please come and inspect. Nope! They've hired the perfect quasi sociopathic phone operator. She says, "No,..." sending chills down my spine, and most professionally distant and void of any human emotion, "Ok, call us back in 10 days, I'm only following direction from my manager BYE! Click!" I then call my neighbor who grew up here and knows everyone, he says, oh no problem call Buddy Hart and his son Schuyler at HCI HEATING AND COOLING. They're local folks. They'll take care of you and are human beings. They are the best. I call Buddy at HCI. I tell my problem. I tell him I had family member test positive for COVID, was fully vaccinated, feeling okay, just headache. But will stay locked indoors. Please come and help. Buddy doesn't hesitate and says, " No problem be right there don't worry. We'll get you up and running again." Schuyler Hart from HCI comes right away, diagnoses problem and has us back up in operation. Thank You HCI for going way above the call of duty. God bless you all.

They are very friendly and the technicians are very professional however. We used them to do electrical wiring for our basement, it was two new breakers to install three light switches and a dozen led light boxes, just under 7k. They were supposed to do plumbing of a bathroom sewage pump, valve for a softener to drain, and shower install with a rough out for a sink, 9k. They miss-scheduled the appointment for plumbing and instead of just saying oops let's fix that they spent their time telling me I scheduled Monday and Tuesday and it's a two day appointment so that's why I am receiving multiple reminders for my appointment on Monday and Tuesday to start, despite my repeating it is Tuesday and Wednesday because I would not be home on Monday as I told the tech who did the estimate. The electrical part they would not take payment for until they finished the job despite my request to pay as they go. Since it requires the plumbing team to finish first they said they would come back when their plumbers finished, still daily texts and calls to schedule the final electrical which according to their tech couldn't be done until the plumbing THEY were scheduled to do. Their AI based system is terrible. Their work is quality and their human customer service team is frustrating but friendly. We canceled the plumbing and now will cancel the finish work for electric as well. Too expensive to justify these annoyances in my opinion. We were convinced to buy their service plan for our ac and electric, not sure what that really gives us but we won't be using it now anyway. I'd caution anyone from using them without a few estimates first.

We live in an old house, so it sadly came with the territory and we had to hire their services for repairs that were beyond our skill level. Our trust with them came to a screeching halt when the time came that I needed to speak with management. We've had an almost 3-year HVAC issue, where five different technicians kept doing leak searches (and charged us for all of them) with no offers for long-term solutions. After my initial call to hopefully address this, it took about a week for them to send me a text offering the minimum possible resolution without even speaking to me. Conveniently, the call-back number they sent didn't work, either. It just goes to show that their management doesn't have the professionalism or courage to have actual conversations with loyal customers. They all hide behind the veil of their customer experience team who unfortunately don't make the decisions. I've never been so relieved to move on from a company whose leadership doesn't value their members.
