I am writing this complaint because we were grossly overcharged for unneeded repairs to our home on…read more9/29/2026 by Summers plumbing in Brownsburg Indiana and do not want anyone else to go through this. We have had sewage going into our sump system since Jordan and Sara from Summers plumbing repaired a drain in our basement. This was a very large repair ($5000.00) that included jack hammering the concrete basement floor from the drain to sump. While in there Summers' technicians connected the wrong pipe to our sump basin and we have had a steady flow of sewage in there and having the sump pump constantly running and a very unhealthy environment for my family. We had to leave the home and were not able to return until the sewage source was rectified. On 9/23/2026 we received a letter from the Montgomery County Health Department stating they took a sample of the sump discharge and found greater than 2419.6 of e.coli in their sample. They collected another sample and got the same results. This prompted my call to Summers plumbing. On 9/28/2026 their technician John came to our house and we went into the basement first and he saw the 4" PVC pipe in the sump that his company installed in March 2026 flowing sewage. Every time the sump pump would empty the pit, that pipe would continue to flow and refill the pit with sewage. He disregarded this fact and went to the septic tank and diagnosed that the main pipe from the house to septic tank was separating 10' from the septic tank and that was causing the flow into our house. He also told me that we needed to disconnect the pipe that exited to the street. He said that the cost would be $10,000.00. Myself and my wife asked him if that would fix the problem of the sewage coming into the house. He said that: "It will 100% take care of our problem and he would come back after the repair and clean the sewage soot built up in our sump pit". The next day 9/29/2026 the excavation crew came to my house and replaced the pipe from the house to septic tank, and removed the pipe to the street and dug a pit for the discharge. I watched as they dug up the pipe and not one spot was wet or muddy, leading me to seriously doubt that this was necessary or was the problem. I gave them a check for $9000.00 and held the rest until the sump pit was cleaned. On 9/30/2026 John came to my door and the first thing he asked was for the other check which I already had made out. He went downstairs and using a wet vac and paper towels he cleaned the pit. When he showed me the pit, he had to evacuate the water that was still coming in. We have a good security system and caught him on the side of our house emptying the wet vac contents (sewage soot) onto our side lawn and. cleaning his vacuum with our side spicket. This is not only very unprofessional but very unhealthy for my family. I have the video of this happening. I called Summers the next day because the smell was still very bad and the sump pit kept filling up. The fumes and gasses were so bad that I had to open the windows, put a rag under our basement door and wear an automotive painter's mask if I needed to go downstairs. On 10/3/26 another Summers tech, Mike, came to our house to diagnose where the smell was coming from. He was able to get a camera line through the pipe that Jordan and Sara hooked up and told me that it ran to the septic tank and he would have to come back with specialized equipment to be able to locate exactly where the pipe went. I called the office in Brownsburg and spoke with Kory (general manager) and told him we were out of town and I was willing to drive over an hour to let him and David into the house to run the specialized equipment. They ran the special camera and found that the pipe putting sewage into our sump was indeed the same pipe that Jordan and Sara hooked into our sump pit in March. At first Kory said that the pipe was full of roots and they would have to charge me more to dig it up and cap it. I told him that the pipe was hooked up by your company I was not paying to dig and cap it. After a while he finally agreed to dig it up. I waisted pretty much a full day and drive over an hour each way on Monday to try to get this matter taken care of. on 10/8/26 the excavation crew arrived and dug up the side of my house by where the sun pit is and I was told they kept the pipe that Jorge and Sarah tapped into in March. I was told that the pipe was capped off. Kory told me that that pipe went to a perimeter drain. Makes no sense because of the amount of sewage and flow through that pipe. It has not rained here in over a month. That repair fixed 0% of my problem. I told him I wanted we paid to have it repaired and refund on $179 for prepaid maintenance package. The problem was caused back in March by his company. He flat out said no way. I wrote a letter to the VP of operations. I called the location after not recreceiving a call back I was told I couldn't speak to him.

Every time the furnace…read moreswitched on, the enducer motor made a noticeable clicking noise as it drew in air through the roof jack. I was worried that the bearings were bad, so after 3.5 months of listening to it, I called to ask about possibly having bad bearings. Kirby sent out an employee to check it out. They replaced the enducer motor part, and it continued making the same noise. They replaced that one, and the noise continued. Robert Kirby came out and listened, and thought it might be the roof jack causing some air obstruction, so they replaced the roof jack. That made no difference. They wanted to charge me around $395 and I talked them down to the price back in October of around $345. This was before it was installed. To make a long story short, the enducer was replaced at least 2 times. There was no change in the noise. Over 3.5 months, they'd made 5-7 trips out to figure out the problem. Robert came out twice, one day with Steve, the rep from their supplier R.E. Mitchel Co., and they took the motor part apart and looked at it. Robert told me that Steve said that was the motor Nordine used in all sizes of their furnaces, and there was nothing they would do about it. I'd brought up possibly insulating it during the meeting. Robert knew what to use. They sent out an employee to insulate it, and it cut the noise in half. I wish they had a deeper understanding of the Nordine furnace up front. That's why I gave them 4 stars. They tried to figure it out and fix it. I would not have bought it had I known. The flange on the new roof jack leaves an inch of space with the slope of the roof. The gap has been stuffed full of silicone and will probably draw attention during an inspection when I sell the mobile home. I'm unsure if the motor bearings are being strained and will eventually give out. I've ended up spending 3.5 months with this problem on my mind. I have a furnace that has a defective or strained enducer motor. I appreciate that Robert promised me a free '26 fall inspection and '27 spring inspection to check on the motor. Although I wish we didn't have to worry about it. I was billed for the roof jack even though it was not the source of the problem. I told Eileen I'd split the cost with them. Her compromise has me paying $50 more than my half. I'm dissatisfied with that, as it was installed as a result of their misdiagnosis in the first place. Kirby Heating & Air was recommended to me by a friend who has retired from owning a commercial heating/air company. Kirby is a good company with a very qualified staff. I'm not happy with how my furnace purchase finally turned out, but I am grateful for the effort they made trying to make it right. Use Kirby Heating, but do not buy a Nordine product.

They have an uncommon sense of customer care in a humanitarian sense that's sadly lacking today. Background: We got hit by the perfect storm: very cold weather sets in, evening, weekend. And now let's add I'm home convalescing from Covid all of a sudden, my heat pump decides to die. No problem I call my 24/7 contract tech AIRTRON. They tell me since there's a Covid case in my home they will not respond, PERIOD! I have to wait a minimum of 10 days. I sadly start pleading, saying I've been a loyal monthly paying sap for over 2 years, that I promise to remain indoors, that the heat pump is outside, that since it's iced it's an outside problem, that I will do everything by phone. That if the problem is inside then I understand, but if it's outside please come and inspect. Nope! They've hired the perfect quasi sociopathic phone operator. She says, "No,..." sending chills down my spine, and most professionally distant and void of any human emotion, "Ok, call us back in 10 days, I'm only following direction from my manager BYE! Click!" I then call my neighbor who grew up here and knows everyone, he says, oh no problem call Buddy Hart and his son Schuyler at HCI HEATING AND COOLING. They're local folks. They'll take care of you and are human beings. They are the best. I call Buddy at HCI. I tell my problem. I tell him I had family member test positive for COVID, was fully vaccinated, feeling okay, just headache. But will stay locked indoors. Please come and help. Buddy doesn't hesitate and says, " No problem be right there don't worry. We'll get you up and running again." Schuyler Hart from HCI comes right away, diagnoses problem and has us back up in operation. Thank You HCI for going way above the call of duty. God bless you all.

They are very friendly and the technicians are very professional however. We used them to do electrical wiring for our basement, it was two new breakers to install three light switches and a dozen led light boxes, just under 7k. They were supposed to do plumbing of a bathroom sewage pump, valve for a softener to drain, and shower install with a rough out for a sink, 9k. They miss-scheduled the appointment for plumbing and instead of just saying oops let's fix that they spent their time telling me I scheduled Monday and Tuesday and it's a two day appointment so that's why I am receiving multiple reminders for my appointment on Monday and Tuesday to start, despite my repeating it is Tuesday and Wednesday because I would not be home on Monday as I told the tech who did the estimate. The electrical part they would not take payment for until they finished the job despite my request to pay as they go. Since it requires the plumbing team to finish first they said they would come back when their plumbers finished, still daily texts and calls to schedule the final electrical which according to their tech couldn't be done until the plumbing THEY were scheduled to do. Their AI based system is terrible. Their work is quality and their human customer service team is frustrating but friendly. We canceled the plumbing and now will cancel the finish work for electric as well. Too expensive to justify these annoyances in my opinion. We were convinced to buy their service plan for our ac and electric, not sure what that really gives us but we won't be using it now anyway. I'd caution anyone from using them without a few estimates first.

The water was gushing in... The response from this company? "Memberships no longer cover priority service. We can come out next week..." What was once a five star review is now a one star and a serious question of if they should rebrand to the Peterman Pyramid?
