I wanted to do the capacitor replacements myself, and they let me know what I needed to do to accomplish those tasks. I'd say 90% of my HVAC tune-ups do not give me the actual spec vs out-of-spec notes for wear & tear items like capacitors. Bryan H&C is the ONLY one to spend the 2 mins letting me know some pointers, since I wanted to DIY the repair. If you hire them, know that It's a small shop. Be flexible on time and scheduling.

The furnace tech diagnosed the furnace as needing at least a new control board and couldn't be sure other parts weren't bad. The furnace was full of ice. Based on the price of the potential repairs, it made more sense to replace the furnace. The installers arrived first thing the next morning and we had heat around lunch time. Everyone from Chapman was clean, courteous and did great work. It wasn't cheap for any of this, but we feel that the prices were reasonable, especially since we were 100% done the very next day.

The previous owners had "maintenance" contract setup so we decided to continue it the last 5 years…read more Each time the techs come I am uncomfortable with the pressure they put on and the general sketchy feel I get from the techs (never the same one twice - they seem to have high turnover). These guys have CONSISTENTLY recommended extra charges, repairs, replacement for our units that were unnecessary. Once we were able to research and repair our a/c unit ourselves for less than $100 they they quoted over $500. Most recently, the tech gave a $2500 quote to repair our furnace unit but immediately said it wasn't worth it and set up for us to get quotes for them to replace it (those quotes were from $10-22k). After getting a second opinion (different company), it was repaired DURING the service call for $125! This tech said the unit was in great condition and simply needed the snow cleared from the intake pipe. The second tech assured us that we should get another 5-10 years from our furnace after Summer's has tried to get us to replace it consistently the last 2 years. This was the last straw and I cancelled the contract with Summer's
