This was our first time at Pola's and we had a great experience. The food was very fresh and delicious. We tried the aguachile, camarón tostada, and pescado tostada, and everything was full of flavor and very fresh. The micheladas were so good, and we loved that they keep the beer on ice so it stays super cold when you pour it. That small detail makes a big difference. The service was very nice and everyone was friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Professor KW, for the recommendation. It was spot on!

This is hands down the best place for fish tacos and fresh seafood mixes. This place had an almost perfect sore for a reason. The food was so good, I ate here twice in one week! The first time I ate here, I got a shrimp taco, fish, taco, and a side of ceviche, and the ceviche brought me back for a second visit because of how fresh and delicious it was. I came with my friend on Friday, and the guy that helped us, walked us through the menu and was really patient with us, as everything sounded good. I ended up getting the tostadas mixtas aguachiles style, and if you add the mayo as the base, it is truly a 10/10 The restaurant is pretty spacious, and the music was perfect. I will definitely be back!

Their tacos Dorados de Camarón (Golden/Fried Shrimp Tacos) with cheese plate is super yummy and served with a bit of raw shrimp salad on the side. Service is excellent and El Jefe is very friendly! Love the family style ambiance and cleanness of this restaurant. Price is about $30 per person including drinks!

We love Pola's! Stopped by on the way home to get a shrimp ceviche and it was amazing yet again! Their prices have increased (like everywhere else) but you definitely should go! Quality food costs more and this is definitely the best quality ceviche you can get

Came by around 5:45pm on a Friday and had a great experience. Friendly service from the start. You walk up to order at the counter and there is seating inside. The fish was fresh with a crispy batter. After we sat down they brought out limes, mayo, and hot sauce, which was a nice touch since some places are switching to lemons now. The tostada was served nice and cold, which I appreciated. We ordered 3 fish tacos, 1 shrimp taco, a tostada mixta, a fruit punch Jarrito, and a Mineragua. Everything hit the spot. They also have a self serve water station and sell beer, but I skipped alcohol this time. It looks like a family running the place and everyone was super friendly. I'm impressed and will definitely be coming back.

Been coming here for years, not often but enough. I think almost all the times I've been there the owner has been there. This time it was about 3 or 4 young lady's and a young man. I ordered the regular molcajete, fish taco and 1/2 dozen oysters. The girl who took my order was not very nice. She was having a conversation with another one of the girls. Taco was not worth it. Didn't even get any salsa for it for $7., oysters just came with lime no crackers or tapatio/tabasco $15, then the molcajete? $30 3 tostadas, sm mayo and sm chili. No crackers or extra chili. Ok, I gave them a $3 tip for to go. Most people I know don't leave any. Sad, that around 6 on a Saturday, there was only one table taken with 2 people. Cute spot. They now serve beer. Something needs to change. It has potential to be busy with a waiting list.

This place is chefs kiss! It's a small restaurant but there is plenty of seating. Everyone working here is super friendly. The food is always fresh and tastes amazing. Anything from here is great, but I highly recommend the shrimp tacos with their hot sauce. The shrimp is lightly battered and so flavorful!

The food here is tasty. $3.50 for a fish taco is pricy but this one is worth it. Tasty and good size. This was my favorite thing here. Bad review for the campechana. $16.50 and its more filler than anything. For $16 I would expect to get way more shrimp and octopus than what's in here. Service here is very nice, everyone smiling. Pretty spacious and clean inside. read more

I've been a customer at Pola's since they first opened. Felt I needed to leave a review for those people who are considering trying this place. Not sure what the bad reviews are all about but this is hands down one of the best Mariscos in the area! Environment is very welcoming, food is phenomenal, and they serve chelas! Food is always fresh. Aguachiles is my personal favorite but you won't be disappointed ordering anything off their menu, especially the secret menu. Highly recommended! Becky, listen to me. You dont have to go to Cancun to get that shrimp Cocktail that you always talk about during brunch with Drea and Susan. They're fake friends BTW. Pola's has the freshest, highest quality Ceviche and Cocktails this side of Pomona, Becky, okay? And we all know that you pretend to be a baller with that rank receptionist job at the reality company, but at Pola's, you dont have to front, the prices are Actually really good, okay? And OMG, it's not called "tHaT cHiLi cUcUmBeR sHrImP tHiNg" Back-aye, okay?! It's called Aguachiles! SMH. And yes, it's really good. Cruising by our favorite spot from our trip to Vegas couldn't bypass this place had to have my favorite aguachiles & shrimp tacos & per management request tried the new aguachiles nachos they were delicious i seriously dislike onions & oh man let me tell you this new item ONION's & all did not disappoint wiped the plate clean, highly recommend dish. AMAZING Ceviche!! This was our first time here and we are definitely coming back. All the reviews about friendly atmosphere and good food are on point. We got the Polas mix and couldn't believe the fresh flavor explosion. It's a good portion if you are interested in splitting and then adding a fish taco. The fish taco has the perfect batter mix, not overbearing, so you can taste the fish which is flakey and flavorful with the blue corn tortilla. I highly recommend this place! read more

Came to location from yelp recommendation as I was wanting a shrimp.cocktail, upon recommendation my husband ordered the Pola's mix NO ONION. I do recommend eating here the only reason for the 4 stars is that the No ONION order came with what seemed like a double serving of onions. My husband tried to eat his meal but could not. This place doesn't disappoint! Great little joint with BIG flavor. I called in an order after 6pm when they were already closed and guess what happened? The owner gladly took my order and made sure it was done right! Amazing to say the least. I ordered the ENPEPINADA, which is from secret menu. Comes with two pepinos stuffed with jumbo Shrimp, jaiva, pulpo with a bomb sauce. I also ordered a ceviche de camarón. You must try it! I always say what is good food with horrible service? Crap. Not this place. Great mariscos and AMAZING service! I gave up on Islas Marias and gave my business to Polas and I'm so happy I did. The most fresh, and best tasting food all around. I've tried just about half of everything on the menu and OMG! Nothing disappoints. Everything is delicious. Wife and I drive 45min-1hr depending on traffic to eat her often. My mouth is watering thinking about this spot. Not only is the food amazing, but the service is fantastic! It's a smaller place but they will take their time to explain anything and make sure everything is perfect. read more

This place was such a disappointment!!! Overly priced for shitty bland half assed food. Literally diced tomatoes and onions no flavor at all on their ceviche not even salt and the lemon tasted like bitter bottled lemon juice not even fresh. DISGUSTING!!! The others ordered cocktails no Clamato just bitter bottled lemon juice it was so so so gross. No effort into the food they are putting out. I kid you not our container of ceviche had maybe 12 pieces of diced shrimp rest was diced tomatoes. HORRIBLE. One star is too high. read more

They also prepaid for drinks from the bar so folks could order from a bartender. Only a few dishes were ordered (since there was other food from an outside catering vendor) and I only got to try it after it was cold so I can't give a wholistic review on the food they serve, but I really liked the leaf wrapped beef with Banh Hoi (vermicelli sheet) and the mango salad! My one complaint is the women's bathroom. Two (out of 3) of the stalls can't lock so the girls had to help each other hold the doors closed. However, it was mostly clean and had toilet paper in stock. +They offer takeout containers for leftovers from the party. +Very kind and accommodating staff. They cleared some tables to create more space on the dance floor. +Parking is plentiful.

The $45 menu is extensive, featuring a wide variety of Vietnamese dishes such as escargot (ốc), pho, and bò né (Vietnamese sizzling beef steak), among many others. We ordered escargot with tamarind sauce, oysters with cheese, a lobster special, rau muống (water spinach) with garlic, glass noodles, and a ribeye steak. This isn't a typical buffet--each dish is cooked to order. It took about 15 minutes since there were only two chefs, but the wait was absolutely worth it. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and served piping hot. The lobster was a whole lobster with claws, and the ribeye was a generous cut served sizzling at the table. The portions are large, and our server kindly warned us ahead of time--we're glad we listened! The owner was friendly, and the service was attentive throughout our meal. My wife and I loved this place and will definitely be coming back. It's great to have quality Vietnamese food nearby without having to travel all the way to OC.

One thing not noted on the menu is that shrimp isn't peeled, but they can peel them for an extra $6. And each order comes in pound increments. No half a pound offered. Your table is also covered with paper so you can eat the seafood boil from there. They provide bibs and gloves for no charge. Ultimately, we enjoyed our meals. Everything was flavorful and, unlike some other seafood boil spots, it didn't leave us feeling like we had heartburn afterward. There's a little sink for you to clean your hands at, which is nice since you dont have to wait for the restroom to empty. The service is what was a bit off. Like we asked for 3 Cajun fry boats but only received 2. Drinks were mixed up, and the clam chowder didn't arrive until about 20 minutes after our seafood bags had already been delivered. If you want ranch for your fries, they charge 60 cents for a small container. For drink refills, they bring a pitcher, but it's the kind typically used for measuring ounces. The server also tended to reach across one end of the table to grab empty cups or pass out food. Since I was seated at the end, it felt awkward having to help pass things down, especially since there were other access points to reach people in our party. We left around 920pm. I only mention it because we were the last group there, and we all noticed the heater seemed to have been turned on. Restaurant sign says open til 10pm on Sat. but we saw them turn off their open sign when we went outside. Needless to say, service could have been better.

Went to this place since it was recommended by a friend at work. First impression was the cleanliness of the location it was super clean. The cashier taking my order was very approachable the service was great. Once the food arrived about 10 min after ordering it was chow time! I forgot to take a picture but I had a ceviche de Camarón it was amazing all ingredients tasted fresh pricing is extremely reasonable best mariscos in town!! I highly recommend it. So we where out at big bear this saturday and we was looking on yelp for good food while on the freeway and we found this spot great mariscos i swear thank u janette for the help great costumer service very polite they are very clean yes the wear mask and gloves and sanitize everything the only thing i did not like was the boss came out and started arguing and being rude to his employee in the make line but everything else food service was great read more
