We were just at Poki Poki the other day and I saw an advertisement for a chicken teriyaki bowl, which looked really good so I figured I would stop in and grab it today. The staff there is very helpful and friendly. I got a small build a bowl with shrimp ceviche, kimchi, cabbage, roasted red pepper, and jalapeño sauce as like a salad dressing. I decided to change it up and get the crispy salmon strips.. couple problems with the appetizer number one they use the same sweet-and-sour sauce to use for the chicken dumplings and I thought they originally used a different sauce but anyways it didn't go and they tasted just a little too fishy for my liking. As for the chicken teriyaki bowl, there is a good amount of rice and veggies. The chicken was a bit dry and I next time get extra teriyaki sauce.. I'm sorry about the same. It's a kid review but you know I'm a seafood lover, but anything that's fishy to me just doesn't cut it and it looked good. It looked great actually as a matter of fact.. Hoping next time is better.

Shared building with a few other options. Was craving pokè, and although I was skeptical, because we're in the desert here.. I was impressed. Built my own bowl (ultimate) and got the ahi nachos appetizer; both very tasty, and with delicious sauces. Only issue (Very Minor) the poke bowl comes with a pretty hefty serving of rice - could have been a better toppings/base split.

In town for an archery tournament with my son. He had never had a Poke bowl so we were driving by and saw this one and stopped by. Very unique even interesting decor. Hipster type place to an old fellow like me. Orders are taken at the counter and they make it right then. Very friendly folks Poke bowls come in three sizes. We got the middle size and it was plenty for each of us. Delicious food and fun atmosphere. Parking lot in rear.

Alright! It's about time I review Poke Poke! First off I've been coming to this restaurant since it originated near the university area.... Years and years and years, I'm a fan. Now I bought a house less than a mile from this location on Comanche and Wyoming. We come here a few times a month, always order the same thing because that's my jam. After visiting Hawaii, I can't get enough raw salmon and tuna! Make me a poke bowl and you'll have yourself a new regular. If you're not feeling poke, or raw fish, they offer tacos and taco bowls which is great, because there's always that one friend that won't do sushi . I've never tried the taco bowls, but let's be real, they are probably amazing. There's a little bar area where you can snag a local beer, OR they have a bombtastic tiki lounge part of the restaurant that'll make you a tiki drink.... THESE DRINKS ARE GREAT! They'll put you right in da island vibe! I'm a fan and I'm here to stay, so come get a bowl and enjoy this atmosphere.

This is definitely a down to earth place if you want to hang out with friends and family or just want to go study with the vibe of still feeling social. They have seating downstairs and upstairs. The menu is very extensive and you can also built your own. They have many options for desserts and we got the Oreo cheesecake and it did not disappoint! The staff was super friendly and helpful with the menu. The food was delicious and prepared or cooked to perfection depending with the dish we ordered. I have to say I finished my entire bowl and I usually have left overs but it was too good to take left overs home! Definitely will be returning again with a much bigger appetite! One of my favorite lunch pick ups, Poki Poki is always a quick and fresh lunch option relatively close to my house. I always do a build your own bowl and have for years. Kind of figured out what my personal preferences with lots of trial and error. I usually do a large bowl so I can make it into two meals but it definitely needs to be a lunch and dinner same day kind of thing. I go for the white rice base, and then a variety of meat offerings, including shrimp and salmon. You can actually request that they do a specific amount of each meet. So for a large bowl you get 5 ounces and you can request one of shrimp two of salmon and two of tuna for example. And then always request for extra sauce on the rice just because I like it saucy. I do crab meat and edamame as my toppings. Then I also add cucumber, masago, and seaweed as well. Sometimes the top it off with a little spicy mayo, but again they have so many offerings and you can customize it just about however you want. They also have a dessert offering which includes some really yummy cheesecakes, and other items. I haven't gone to sit and hang out in a really long time but they've added a lot to the space over the last couple years. I believe they also do alcoholic beverages and such. I will know the prices have gone up over the years, but I understand your food is really expensive especially here in New Mexico.

Good food, great decor. I'd say it's beach food but there's no water (or sand and that's good!). Yeah I've had my share of good fish tacos but usually not paired with a carnitas one so yeah, hey, it's NM good... Staff friendly and helpful, "how hot on a scale of 1 to 10?" They made good suggestions and the bartender even brought me a coke while I was in line, very cool! I'd give it 5 stars but the side of guac was a little pricey for such a small scoop. Ok, it get's a 5 cause I was just being cheap... . Love the murals. Need larger selection of beer! Great Sunday afternoon snack. Kudos to the staff! read more

I would give this restaurant a zero if possible. I had Southwestern Chicken Egg rolls. I sat down at the bar, and one of the servers came over and said they were undercooked. She said it wouldn't hurt me if I wanted to eat them, but she had put in an order for new ones. Really- how Gross is that! My husband got 3 of the Banana Crusted Fish Tacos and he got food poisoning. He was sick for 2 days. We filed a complaint with the department of health. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed the food once I deciphered what I wanted to order. I do wish there were sauce options that are less spicy. A few "simple" sauces would be a nice option (BBQ?). Maybe I missed it and they actually do have sauces like that? The menu was a little overwhelming but as I mentioned I loved my dish once all was said and done. The atmosphere was okay. Very small space and not easy to fit a large group in there. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Couldn't ask for better service. I would certainly go back for more but maybe not as a larger group. read more

I crave Poki Poki almost constantly! Such delicious flavors melded together. Poki Poki has a great upstairs space for chitchat (downstairs is kinda loud). They don't have many non-raw fish options, but all their meats are so delicious anyway. I highly recommend this place if you're okay with raw fish (or even if you're not-- try it!). read more

Newly opened location. Very cool setup and excellent food. Had the 'Boss Bowl', which was outstanding. Interesting combination of different types of food - southwest, Hawaiian and Asian. Throw in a very cool indoor/outdoor bar that serves beer by the bottle and sangria on tap and you have a fun setup. Good place to hang out with friends and have a good time. The only drawback is that the parking is limited, especially during the week. read more

My teenage daughter introduced me to this place and I'm addicted!! Great food, fast and always filling and delicious. I love when they are trying out new recipes because they share samples with you at checkout. Their menu can be intimidating for first timers but they are helpful and you really can't go wrong. Bring a non-sushi eater along, they can enjoy delicious meat tacos! My favorite part is that they have vegetarian alternatives, I could live off of the fresh bowl with tofu! Try it and don't be surprised if you fall in love. Don't forget to have a local beer with your meal and enjoy the urban art in their small but cozy space. This is in my top 5 local places to frequent, no question. read more

This was our first visit to Poki Poki. The food was fantastic. My boyfriend and shared The Poke Bowl (ultimate size). Every item in the bowl was at the peak of freshness. The tuna was generously proportioned. The seaweed salad was clean and crisp, not slimy as some seaweeds salad get, sometimes. I'm not a fan on pickled cabbage, but theirs was well-balanced. The young lady behind the counter was friendly and prepared a beautiful dish. I would have given them 5 stars but the guy working the bar located in the same room as you order around 5:30 yesterday (8/18) had an attitude. He felt the need to correct how my bf says pecan when he asked about the pecan beer. Depending on what part of the country you're from it's "pee-can" or "pe-cahn". Both are correct. If you're in the service industry there's no need for that kind of condescension, especially when both pronunciations are correct and oh, we're getting ready to hand money to you. It may sound like a petty reason to deduct a star but, it's my review and this "bartender's" attitude was unappreciated. Anyway, we definitely will be back. read more

The food to me was ok, but didn't have a lot of flavor. Can be really crowded and noisy depending on the time of day. It feels a little like an assembly line there, similar to Subway or Chipotle. If you're looking for something fast and local, this place is worth trying. read more

As an Orange County, CA transplant, the things I miss about living behind the Orange Curtain are few and far between. However, the ubiquity of good poke joints is definitely one of them. That's why I'm so glad I've found Poki Poki Cevicheria! I always like get a large bowl and customize it to my liking and I am appreciative of all the topping options they have! I have yet to try their tacos though I only really go there for the poke bowls; I generally sate my taco needs elsewhere. Their fish has been fresh on almost every occasion that I have been there (now 4 times) so I will keep coming back. My most recent visit yielded some salmon that had seen better days but I'm willing to give it a pass, mostly because I am desperate for delicious poke. They have a rewards program which is nice because getting a regular bowl will set you back a bit over $12. I see that they are in the process of expanding to serve espresso and dessert and other things that I really hope do not mess with their poke!!! The parking lot has the potential to get rough because they share the space with Red Door Brewing but I haven't had a problem there yet! Check it out! read more

Having eaten at the Poki Poki location on Central for well over a year now, I can't begin to describe how excited I am that they have opened up a location much closer to me! Everything is SOO GOOD! The seemingly limitless number of toppings and combinations makes for an incredible experience every time! I've yet to find something I don't like here. The fusion mayo and spicy poki sauces are definitely favorites. They are very generous with fish and toppings so you definitely won't leave hungry. Having been to one of their competitors restaurants as well as many poki places in southern California, I can confidently say Poki Poki blows the competition away. It is a bit confusing how fish in New Mexico can be better than fish on the California coast but its true. Poki Poki is number one! The restaurant itself has a very cool/modern/hipster vibe and the staff is incredibly friendly and more than willing to help new customers with the concept (I guess it can get confusing). I went opening day, and this (mostly new) staff all seemed incredibly prepared and very friendly. This location even has a bar which makes it all the more popular. Warning: if you come in during the busier hours, there will be a lot of people so it may be difficult to hear the person making your bowl. If its your first time, I'd recommend avoiding the dinner rush to get the best experience. Customer service is a high priority for this staff and its obvious that they all care about the restaurant. Overall, I would recommend Poki Poki to everyone, they even have a variety of vegetarian and gluten free options! read more

It IS possible to be addicted to certain foods and Poki Poki has proven that. We go here more often than we probably should but the food is incredibly high-quality and healthier than a lot of other places out there. The staff is always fabulous and doesn't even mind when we yell at the TV during football matches. This is definitely an addition I won't be trying to stop any time soon. read more

You have to like RAW fish, as tuna and salmon and fruit and Little Spice. The waitresses are very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the food for the 2nd time, this time the Hawaii bowl for take out. The toppings you can choose yourself. The base of the bowl is rice or salad. I did not eat there, they have music outside, on Friday for sure. Busy, difficult to get in the parking lot. read more

Good food served quickly. I had the tuna bowl on the menu and it tasted fresh. It's not what I think of as ceviche (seafood doused in some kind of acid) but more like a sushi bowl. I'd go back again. read more

Previously living in California, this Poki place I wouldn't recommend. First the quality of the fish isn't great. I got salmon for mines and getting a large it wasn't much fish. Paying 13 for my meal and not getting full. Very disappointed don't recommend this place. read more

I love this place as my go-to healthy treat. its going to cost you about 10-13 dollars for a nice salad or rice bowl. Nice atmosphere to relax upstairs, at the bar, or even outside. It is one of my favorite restaurants in ABQ. Most restaurants dont make food to keep you alive (taste over healty)---they make it so you come back and its healthy. read more

Holy cow! Uh, I mean Fish! Lots n' lots of fish. Who doesn't like Poki? Basically sushi in a bowl, super fresh, super delicious sauces to choose from with all sorts of other ingredients. Choose from the menued items or make your own. Simple, light, and oh so good. read more

Delicious food. Great for keto diet! It was a little like a chipotle with an Asian flavor. They were very understanding about diet and made great suggestions. Nice atmosphere but we got our food to go. Reasonable prices. Definitely going back soon. read more

I'm pretty sure this my favorite restaurant right now! Wyoming location is nice and friendly. Chill atmosphere and I like the upstairs area and being able to chill on the couches and check out the murals. Building my own Poki bowl is so yummy! I would eat here everyday if I could and it's nice that they have a rewards system to earn free stuff! I eat here as often as I can! Prices are a bit high but it's not too crazy. Can't wait to see the expansion completed! read more

Step inside, however, and you're immediately welcomed into a warm, intimate atmosphere that feels like a hidden gem tucked away in Old Town Albuquerque. Owner Steve, who has been running the restaurant for nearly three decades, greeted us personally. His passion for hospitality was evident from the moment we arrived. While we waited briefly for our table, he took time to learn about us, ask what types of food we enjoy, and offer thoughtful menu recommendations. The restaurant itself is charming and authentic, with an old-world steakhouse feel that perfectly complements the historic New Mexico setting. Many of the tables and booths are arranged to create private, intimate dining spaces, making it an ideal choice for special occasions. We were touched when Steve seated us at what he called the "anniversary table," complete with a small scattering of heart confetti, despite our celebration having technically passed. Service throughout the evening was exceptional. Rather than relying on a single server, the entire staff worked seamlessly together. Water glasses were never less than half full, empty plates disappeared almost instantly, and every member of the team seemed genuinely invested in ensuring guests had a memorable experience. Even the kitchen staff engaged warmly with diners, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. As for the food, it exceeded every expectation. We started with oysters on the half shell, which my husband thoroughly enjoyed. I upgraded to the special salad, a beautiful combination of greens, apples, strawberries, mandarin oranges, walnuts, bacon, and a creamy mini brie, all brought together with a delicious pear vinaigrette. For our entrée, we chose the Châteaubriand for two. It was expertly prepared, carved tableside, and cooked perfectly. Every recommendation we received was spot-on, and the meal was so impressive that before leaving, I made another reservation for later that week just so I could return and try more of the menu before our trip ended. It took nearly 30 minutes for them to come out while there were maybe 4 customers that had ordered after me (one of which ordered the same thing and got it in ten minutes). I was approached with the wrong order and had to wait another 10 minutes for them to finally come out with two soggy cold tacos which they shoved into my hands and walked away. I love Poki Poki. Usually the service is amazing but tonight I waited 20 minutes at the bar to even be acknowledged. The server helped people that came in after me, refilled drinks for other customers, and was cleaning the work area. There was 5 people in total at the bar area. The couple next to me took notice and flagged down the server for me. I work in the food service industry and can definitely understand that servers get busy but it was not busy. I love the tacos at Poki Poki but this experience makes me hesitant to go back. I felt invisible and ignored. read more

So nice to have a fresh and authentic poke place in Albuquerque! The food is always amazing! The "cooked" food and dessert coming from the kitchen is spot on, flavorful and fresh. The poke bowls are great! They let you build your own or have ones that are predesigned. You can pick the size of the bowl and have many options as far as bases, fish (or even chicken), toppings and sauces! The bar has a great selection of local beers and their sister company sweet cup is awesome for Boba! You don't want to miss this gem! read more

So nice to have this near the Heights! Incredible food! Their carnitas tacos are a not miss! You can't go wrong with any of the bowls- although my favorite is the spicy bowl. Their sangrias are spectacular and you can't beat the great spot at the bar that has garage doors that open to the street! Great spot! read more

This is the best ceviche in town. The fish are always on point never unpleasing. The layout of the locations are always very professional and elegant. The Latin Bowl is my favorite hands down. read more
