Food: 5/5 - I get the lava blaze every Monday or Tuesday and it is fantastic. My personal spin on it is having it with grain blend, take out the orange fish eggs and replace it with seaweed salad, as well as take out the fried onions and replace with green onions. It is fantastic and I never get sick of it. Service: 5/5 - The workers are nice and very efficient, because the place gets super busy. Awesome folks! Ambiance: 5/5 - It's a take out spot, so there isn't really an ambiance, but it is a nice vibe of a place! Feels like a poke food truck but that's in a small store. Overall: 4.5/5 - I give it a 4.5/5 only because it is a bit pricey. $18 for a bowl, however, they really do use good quality ingredients.

As it turned out, I wasn't in the mood for poke, but I immediately appreciated the ambiance and decor of this very reasonably priced restaurant. They're in a plaza with plenty of parking, which I also appreciated. When we entered, it was quite empty and quiet, which I tend to prefer. I noticed a sign indicating that they no longer offer AYCE. This would have really bummed me out normally, but we were planning on a smaller, a la carte lunch that day anyway. It didn't take too long to be greeted, and we could have our pick of most of the tables. We sat by the booze display case, although we didn't partake on this particular occasion. We were given our menus, which included a dedicated lunch menu. Both of us opted for a 3 roll selection that comes with miso soup and salad for $16.98. There's a 2 roll version for $11.98 as well but I was going to devour the plate itself. I was so hungry. We ordered plain hot water as it was a pretty cold, snowy day. Our first waters came quickly, and the soups and salads as well. I swear every sushi place I've ever been to gets their soup and salad from the same, giant dispenser, meaning, they tasted exactly the same. Not a bad thing, just makes it an average experience. For my rolls, I chose a deep fried crab/cream cheese; a shrimp tempura; and a salmon/cream cheese. My friend chose deep fried butterfish; eel/avocado; and spicy salmon. They didn't take long to arrive, but after that, we weren't checked on whatsoever. I liked that the rice to filling ratio on all of the rolls was not too high. The freshness was also good. My main complaint would be that the oil flavour was a little too pronounced on the tempura and fried rolls. That didn't stop me from inhaling my plate, though, figuratively speaking only, thankfully. We sat for a long while enjoying our meal, and my friend wound up not finishing her meal. While we appreciated not being hovered on as an attempt to clear us out ASAP, my friend had emptied her cup of water early in the meal and was really wishing for more. She tried getting our server's attention for a good while before she succeeded. I could see they do a brisk takeout business and were taking calls, but we really were ignored after being served our food. I ended up approaching the desk for our bill while my friend used the facilities as we finished up. I was able to get a cardboard container for my friend to bring her remainders home. Btw the facilities are very roomy and were clean, if getting worn, so that was another plus overall. I might return, but I would find the lack of AYCE option a disincentive as I've grown accustomed to that means of having endless variety. I do find the value for price point quite good, even though the food was so average, so I wouldn't mind doing the same place visiting the same friend in the neighbourhood. I'd be more prepared to have to seek out service more aggressively, but at least they were always polite. Overall can recommend.

The staffs here do not greet you. Queen West has huge seating area. Here, it is tight and squished up at the window (too intimate). Queen West gives you extra this and that, here it's very by the books. The taste of foods at Queen West has so much love in it, here it's another eatery. Just another Rolltation.

There was a good balance of spam & rice & quite a bit of seaweed. Huli Huli chicken plate was tasty with moist chicken & a hint of chili. There was a good sweet, savoury & sour balance. The slaw had a zesty crisp & an intriguing flavour note.  Butter mochi was very good: rich, chewy & slight crisp at the edges with a nice coconut topping.

I recently stopped by Pokito to pick up take out for dinner as I had stumbled upon a $10 coupon from the restaurant over Facebook. Upon entering, the space is inviting and warm, with wooden accents throughout the space. There are several tables if you'd like to dine in. The menu is large and they also have daily deals as well. In the small fridge display they have a sample of their poke on display along with other items like onigiri, desserts, and drinks. Their poke bowls are likely the most popular items to be ordered but definitely don't skip out on the plate lunches as well! I opted to grab a garlic shrimp scampi plate lunch (tail-on shrimp sauteed in buttery garlic sauce on rice (can choose between white or brown rice) with mac salad and a salad slaw) for $22.50. I did have $10 off my order which was great. If you sign up for their rewards program you also get other deals as well (the next deal I get is 50% off a plate lunch for a limited time!). My order was made fresh which took about 5-10 min. I didn't mind as I just sat down to wait. Service was friendly and efficient. I had my garlic shrimp scampi plate lunch for dinner. Beware that the shrimp is really garlicy and delicious! Just be careful if you need to talk to someone afterwards because they will smell it. The rice absorbed some of that garlic flavour which made the rice even better. The mac salad was great and the salad slaw helped to cut through everything as well. Portions were large and I was full afterwards. Overall, a great place for Hawaiian plate lunches (and I'm sure poke as well!) in the Queen/Spadina area. Definitely will return to try more of their plate lunches as well as poke.
