I was feeling hungry and ordered a large. 4 scoops of fish on top of greens and brown rice and all the toppings with house sauce and spicy mayo. Yummy! Loved every bite. Loved the strawberries and garlic chips. Wished they had crab meat as a topping like the other two poke places in Pasadena. The large was a lot of food. I barely finished. Husband likes spinfish better but I liked this place better. I loved how there's inside seating. But parking around the area is bad. We were lucky to find free parking on streets behind but on weekdays u have to pay for parking in the lots. I liked how the owners came up to us and talked to us as well. Very personable. Chased by a toothpick ~ I went here on a nice Friday date night on the 17th of July with my boyfriend and was served immediately, very politely and kindly by the busy servers working behind the glass counters. We were very hungry and it was our first time. The menu and selection of poke toppings were quite generous yet simple and easy to follow. I ordered the small poke with salmon and ahi half and half with greens and brown rice topped with seeweed, nori, sesame seeds, fish eggs and edamame seasoned with poke sauce and spicy mayo on the side. My boyfriend got almost the same thing but with a medium size adding the scallops. Overall the poke was good. It tasted fresh, the seasonings were tasty and the portions were more than we paid for compared to other poke places. What really makes this place stand out is the kind hospitality of its workers. I would definitely come back here especially that it's a walkable distance from home but not so much for the food itself but to the overall experience of the service. I asked for a toothpick at the end of my meal and two workers agreed that they had already ran out. As we head out and left the restaurant, I heard a running and shouting voice from behind. I looked back and saw this kind man (it was very rude of me not having to ask for his name)-one of the workers of Flour + Tea- bringing me a piece of toothpick. I was shocked about this attention. I love this restaurant and eat here 2 or 3 times a week. The Hamachi especially is the bomb. My fave is a medium with 2 scoops spicy tuna and 1 Hamachi on brown rice, with ginger sesame dressing and spicy mayo on top. Yum!! Also, the service is so fast it's amazing. Small nice modern looking lunch place . A little difficult to park but not impossible. Poke is good not great , the flavors kinda all taste the same, it needs more definition in my opinion like more ginger and some green onions. The fish seems decent quality the portions fairly large. Was looking for a tea place this afternoon and drove past this place. Stopped in and although this wasn't the kinda place I had in mind, I am so glad we dropped in. A very simple concept of Poke bowls and teas. Amazingly simple flavor combinations. The food was very fresh and delicious. Staff was patient and friendly while explaining specials. I love this place. Their Poke is pretty good. Their portions are generous, and the staff is very personable. Although the reason I truly love this place is the drinks. My drink of choice is a half sweet Love Potion with the passion fruit jelly. These drinks are so addictive. My mom, my sister, and I always find a reason to venture out here because we all love the drinks so much. Went here for poke. Wasn't crazy about it. Small is 2 scoops for $7.75, medium is 3 scoops for $9.75 and large is 4 scoops for $11.75. Bases were greens, rice, or mixed (greens/rice). Proteins included tuna, salmon, spicy tuna, shrimp, and imitation crab. Albacore was a $1.50 extra. Note, imitation crab was considered a protein "scoop". Other options to add to the bowl for free were edamame, seaweed salad, roe, and cucumber. Guacamole and rice balls were available, but were $1 extra. Overall, it was too little choices and too much charge for the "extras" available. I got greens as my base. Unfortunately, the arugula was old, with yellow spots on it. Staff is very friendly. The portions /price is reasonable. I ordered the medium mix (bed of mixed greens/2 scoops rice), chose ahi, salmon, shrimp. Topped with pickled cucumber & seaweed salad, shredded nori with sesame seeds. They ask you if you want the poke sauce, which is not overpowering. It tastes like soy sauce, a little sesame oil, maybe a dash of rice vinegar. Very filling, I was not able to finish, but ate the vegetables and poke, left the rice. if you have a big appetite the large is a choice of 4 portions. My teenage son found it to be adequately filling. Usually he has to order 2 entrees to fill him up. Parking is located in back, off of Hudson. They are not listed on the businesses yet. (This review is biased as I loath wasabi with a passion. I do plan on giving this place a 2nd chance). I was super excited to check this place out. And when I got there, everything looked fresh and the prices seemed reasonable. (It fish y'all...it pricier than other meats). 2 bites in and I wasn't impressed as it tasted pretty bland. And then bam: pure wasabi in my 3rd bite. (And no wasabi is not at all spicy to me. I literally cannot stand the flavor of wasabi/horseradish). I wish there was a sign describing the sauces the poke was in. I was trying to figure out which item contained it. Pretty sure it was the tuna but eventually it was on the salmon and blue crab. So maybe it was the house poke sauce. Normally I would have ran to the bathroom to spit it out, but I had 5 mins left of my lunch break and had to eat something (As we say in Spanish "mata el hambre"..."it kills the hunger") so forced myself to eat half of the bowl and then gave the rest to my friend. (Who does like wasabi and said this was even too much for him). Both employees there were super nice as they were serving us. So bonus points for customer service. As I said, everything did look really fresh but this was certainly no Da Poke Shack on the Big Island. It seems a lot of the poke places that have pooped up in SoCal are "healthier" than traditional wish is nice in its own way. This place seeming as it falls into the "healthy" category. Though thus far, Sweetfin in Santa Monica is my favorite healthy poke. But I am planing oncoming back in to try something and be very clear for them to recommend a wasabi-less dish. I love love love this place! My friend and I go to lunch there at least once or twice a week! We have tried different Poke bars but keep coming back here for more! Everything is fresh and taste delish! The only reason I give it a 4 instead of 5 is because there is this one lady who seems to make the portions a lot smaller than all the rest to the point where she counts the amount that she puts in the bowl and if it goes over, she actually takes it out, lol! But other than that, I definitely recommend this place, just avoid that lady, lol! read more

This is my favorite poke place in Pasadena. The parking is a bit weird since their storefront is facing Lake Ave but parking is behind the office building on Hudson. You'll know it by seeing a parking attendant booth when you pull in. Their fish is always fresh and tasty and they have a simple menu.
