$15 for 5 pieces of salmon. Don't come here.
    Tyli T.

Absolutely what the hell. I've been coming here for YEARS and have always loved this place, their portions, and quality-- I came here same time last year what happened?? Their service sucked. Not only that, I ordered a small with spicy tuna and salmon and he gave me 5 (FIVE) measly pieces of salmon. I'm paying $15 for rice with a sprinkle of protein. I asked for pineapple in my order which he didn't even give, and I saw him look over at it as well. This place is a joke now. I asked him if that's really all he's giving us and he said yes and I was too stunned to protest, what was the point I saw how stingy he was with the toppings as well. I'm so disappointed with this place and if I could go back in time I would've spent my money elsewhere. I sectioned all the salmon he gave me to show how ridiculous this place has become. DONT COME HERE!

Love this place. The fish is so fresh here. I was craving a musubi and they make them on the spot of you with the fillings of your choice. Good portions for the items, perfect for taking it on the go. Would recommend !

Great toppings but stingy on portions without the option of a surcharge for extra. Just silly.

I was craving salmon and this was the perfect place. I ordered my personal box. I had white rice, kelp noodles, cucumbers, green onion, seaweed salad, cucumber salad, salmon, spicy ponzu, spicy tempura, cilantro, pickled ginger, kimchi, and edamame. Also had a fresh pineapple juice. All was delish and I was full. The service was fast. The ambiance is all white, enough seating. Seems like most of the traffic they get is to go.

    Spam musubi

Disclaimer: This is only a review of their spam musubi. They had a sign outside advertising their spam musubi so decided to stop by and give it a try. I didn't try the poke, but it looked like your standard mainland type poke bar without marinated fish. The musubi was made to order. The worker scooped a large portion of rice and went to the back. She came back with a small container. In it, was a loosely packed musubi cut in half with sauce drizzled on the top of each cross section. I'm not sure they used a musubi mold, as it was so loosely packed and fell apart as soon as I took a bite. The spam was a thick slice, but not marinated at all, and the sauce was an overly sweet teriyaki. It was a big portion but not worth the $5. The musubis at a 7-11 in Hawaii are cheaper and better. Just make your own at home. I would not come back for the musubi, and just looking at the poke, probably wouldn't give it a try either. Worker was nice, though. Easy parking.

Pokeatery is a local chain of restaurants offering customizable poke boxes. I started mine with a base of Citrus Kale and purple Uala Chips, and my favorite components were the sides of Seaweed Salad and Crab & Spicy Crab Salad. My fish choices included salmon, hamachi (yellowtail), and tako (octopus), along with sides of spicy mayo and spicy oyo sauce. I then topped it off with corn, edamame, mango, pineapple, and furikake. Even though I came at the beginning of the day, the ingredients weren't as fresh as they were on my past visits, though the poke box still made for a nice meal overall!

Note, this review is more like 3.5 stars. I was charging my car in the nearby parking garage and I had about 30 minutes to kill. It was around lunch time and this place showed up nearby for me. There was no wait, so I was able to place my order really fast. You just go through each step to build your poke bowl, which I found friendly. Food and Drink: It was not as good as I personally thought. My issues with using cardboard/paper containers is that the rice will stick to it. I felt like I lost a bit of my brown rice to that and I don't want to spend some of my time scrapping alongside the walls just to eat. The choices of having 4 protein is nice, since I find that to be the perfect number. However, no free avocado at this place. The sauce selection I had were good. The strawberry lemonade I had alongside it paired nicely. Like the food itself was alright but the price I paid for all this was way more than I anticipated. I spent about $23 or so for this and for the quality and quantity, I can go elsewhere for much less. Probably won't see me coming back anytime soon.

Haven't been here since I used to work at the plazaand it's even better than I remember. Great customer service although they could probably use an extra hand when it gets busy. It's quiet and chill. Food was delicious of course.

Consistently good poke. Pretty generous portions, and they have mango as one of the toppings, which I always appreciate. The red cabbage, which is available, and that I thought was an unexpected topping, is especially delicious. The citrus kale, when it is good, it is great, and when it is not good, sadly, not good at all. The salmon and hamachi are always a sure bet. The shrimp are little succulent, maritime delights and the tobiko is fresh and crunchy.

    Kimchi is vegetarian.

Is the pineapple dole whip dairy free?

    Yes!

Does the number above even work? I tried calling the place and it made a weird beeping noise.

Hi Amanda, sorry that your phone call didn't go through. The business phone number of Pokeatery Walnut Creek is 925-287-1888. I just tested it. It was working fine.

It's nice to have a go-to Poke place like Oke Poke! My last visit was for a free dole whip (pineapple and strawberry available) and there were several kind employees waiting behind the counter to assist in any way. The seating area and food preparation areas are nice and clean, location pleasant in a not-too-busy-but-accessible part of downtown Walnut Creek, and of course the poke itself is very tasty too. I like how ordering on the app for pickup is a streamlined and simple process (for group orders too!) There's create your own poke, sushi burritos, or nachoes or you can go with a recommended preset. Avocado is not extra!! And there are lots of unique options from rice noodle base to crawfish as a choice of protein. ~$20 for a large bowl with 5 scoops of protein is a good price to me. Looking forward to lots more poke as the weather warms up this summer!

The parking is over, there is a parking garage within a block of this shop. Their bowl size with the 2 proteins is $17 and some change. Which does feel a bit pricy, but the portions are so big, one bowl is enough for lunch and dinner. The fish is fresh which is very important to me. I'm super picky about the fish! The moment I find out a place has bad quality fish, I pretty much blacklist them. It's not worth the food poisoning, so I'm super happy to find a second poke place with good fish! They also season their poke bowls well and don't skimp out! I highly recommend.

I like just being left alone to order at the kiosk and take my time if needed. The one star off is because my order was wrong, the protein was right on the poke bowl, but not all the toppings were there and some wrong toppings. Also, one of my sauces was missing. I would have brought it back, but it's a waste to remake. I really don't want the item that was added in so that sucks a little bit. I think the guy should slow down and make sure he pays attention to the order since it's listed out/doesn't seem too hard. It's better to wait a minute longer and get the order right. They should get that handled because I imagine some people will want it remade to remove toppings they don't want and that's a total waste of their food. The only other thing that freaked me out a little is their seaweed salad turned the rice bright green right away which makes it seem like weird quality/food dye. That being said, it was delicious and seemed very fresh overall and I'll be back. But I will tell them to please make sure to put the right toppings on there. Recommend you check your orders before you go.
