    Wax On Bowl
    Sheryl S.

The Wax On bowl was great but a bit too saucy from the dressing. I got it with half white rice and salad. The salmon was fresh. Came on a Wednesday afternoon and wasn't packed and the food came out quickly. The sushi spot across from them is their sister restaurant but did not get to try anything from there on this visit.

Kid poke. Tuna! Wakame! Cucumber! Shallots! Rice!

I'm not a fan of food courts. But, a few of Miami's hidden gems are located inside halls like the Citadel. Brought by a friend, specifically for a Poke bowl. Very fresh tuna over sushi rice and garnished with wakame, crispy shallots and marinated cucumber, drizzled with eel sauce. As tasty as visually enticing. My only criticism, is next time I order, less cucumber. I like cucumber. But for my preferred taste, the marinade is very sweet, to a point of too distracting. I prefer to let the protein be itself without being overpowered by the sugars. Otherwise, I plan to make this a frequent choice. Also suggested - the crispy rice and the crab rolls. Deliciously well composed!

BEST butter crab roll around town! They have well proportioned poke bowls that you can customize which I love! The fish is super fresh and flavorful, However, their butter crab roll and their yellowtail onigiri are hands down worth trying this new hot spot! (Located inside of the citadel)

Delicious delicious..: the fish is nice and fresh, the rice is so good that I can eat it by it self . A huge fan of the pickle cucumber , they put a good amount. I order twice last week and not one complain.

The presentation was good, however the food needed more flavor. Maybe adding more sauce to the order would've create the perfect combination. I got the small order and added a drink, fresh seaweed, and avocado. Paid $26.54 with the tip.

You enter an immersive world that really outshines any tiki bar to which I've ever been. The magic radiates out of every nook and cranny. That was complimented by our bartender, Billy, knocking out some perfect killer classics, like a real Mai Tai, and Navy Grog, that, post the 1950s became kind of sugar filled, over-the-top mockeries of the Tiki cocktail arts. No mockery here. Just the old school magic. It's a very analog, and thankfully honest, unhipster revival for a generation who knows not of Bali Hai, Don the Beachcomber, the Mai Kai, and San Francisco's once-great, now seedy Tonga Room & Hurricane Bar, at the Fairmont Hotel, on Nob Hill. The crowd, including the regulars, were a lot of fun. In all, a really awesome evening! Five stars, for all of that, and a sixth for the memories.

The Thai tea latte was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced with that classic bold tea flavor and subtle sweetness. The Butterfly Lychee was refreshing, light, and visually stunning, with a delicate floral note and fruity lychee flavor that made it feel perfect for Miami's warm weather. Service was friendly and welcoming, and the staff were happy to answer questions about the drink menu. The vibe is modern, stylish, and relaxing, with a beautiful interior that makes it a great place to catch up with friends, work remotely, or simply enjoy a drink. The space feels thoughtfully designed and inviting. Overall, a lovely café experience with well-crafted drinks and a great atmosphere. It is a bit pricey here so I would expect a little more in regard to portion size and taste. I would come back in the near future for my poke fix for sure!

This place, however, is a major exception! 1-800-Lucky is an Asian food hall in the heart of the Wynwood neighborhood in Miami (north of downtown and Brickell, west of midtown, south of design district). This food hall packs a punch and would be right at home in LA, SF, NYC, CHI, SEA, etc. The restaurant options include korean, authentic Chinese, sushi, dim sum, Ramen, and Thai street food. The Korean restaurant and thai food, in particular, are stellar. Portions a bit small for price (most entrees 18-23 dollars with side items less. I am a big eater and was able to eat entire thai meal, korean meal my last visit with little more room. There is also a cocktail bar with great outdoor patio conducive to both hanging with friends for cocktails or sipping Boba tea while catching up on some work. The restaurants have self service ordering screens where u order/pay. Employees will bust your table when done with meal. To Whom It May Concern,…read more I am writing to formally complain about an unacceptable experience I had today with Mana Poke regarding a lunch order I placed today for myself and two co-workers. I initially ordered three bowls online: two with salmon and one with chicken. A few minutes after placing the order on line, I received a call from Teresa advising they did not have any chicken. I therefore canceled that bowl and proceeded with the remaining two salmon bowls. Despite this adjustment being made promptly, my order arrived one hour late, which is completely unreasonable for a lunch order--especially when multiple people are involved and relying on timely service. Unfortunately, the issues did not end there. Upon receiving the order, both bowls were prepared incorrectly, containing the wrong ingredients in each bowl and missing items that were clearly specified in the order. At that point, the quality and accuracy of the service had failed entirely. I contacted the restaurant and spoke with a staff member named Teresa to address these issues. Her response was deeply disappointing. She repeatedly said "OK" in a dismissive manner, showed no concern or accountability, and made no effort to offer an apology, explanation, or any form of reconciliation. Her lack of professionalism and apparent indifference only compounded an already frustrating experience. Between the ingredient shortage, excessive delay, incorrect food preparation, and poor customer service, this experience fell far below any reasonable standard of service. I chose Mana Poke expecting reliability and quality and instead received the opposite. I am requesting that this matter be addressed promptly and that appropriate compensation be provided for the inconvenience and poor service experienced. I also strongly encourage management to review customer service expectations with staff, as this interaction was unacceptable. Given the issues outlined above, I will not be placing future orders with Mana Poke and believe prospective customers should exercise caution when ordering from Mana Poke.

Anywho, I ordered ahead for pick up on their website. The price was a little above average for poke in my opinion, but hey, I don't cheap out when it comes to my raw fish (or else you'll pay for it one way or another LOL xD). The spot is on the side of 8th street, next to the Subway and CVS side. It's kind of hidden and the inside was very "chill" (wasn't busy at all the time I went, around 5PM or so) for a lack of a better word. Anyway, my order was ready quickly in about 10-15 minutes, so I walked from nearby to pick my order up. Picking it up was easy, they just asked for my name. I inspected my order before heading back. My order felt super light and not to my surprise, it was such a small bowl. Granted, I didn't try their signature bowls, I built my own. Regardless, it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. Compared to my regular spot, I would definitely make the drive to go there (Coral Gables) instead. I really wish I could give this place a better rating and review, but it just wasn't doing it for me. I only recommend this spot if you're craving poke and don't feel like traveling far. *photos of poke bowl to follow*

Upon arrival, the host immediately greeted us and sat us at the only available table which was right behind the host stand outside on the patio, which was fine. With so many restaurants with long waits we were just happy to be sat, no matter if the table wasn't the ideal spot. After we were sat, it took forever for our server to come greet us. When she finally did, she basically asked us what kind of water we want and said she would be back but I made her take our drink orders as well as we had already been waiting for a decent amount of time. After we got our drinks, she took our food order. When the food came out, it was a little messed up. 2/3 of the people at our table ordered nigiri but they brought it all out on one plate, which wasn't an issue but we didn't know what was what. When we tried asking the man who brought the food out to us what was what, he must have misunderstood and he just took the food back. He then returned and had plated all the nigiri on their own separate plate. We didn't ask for this, we only were asking what was what. As for the food, I got the crispy hamachi and the tuna nigiri and salmon nigiri. The tuna nigiri had a super weird ketchup-like sauce on it which was kind of nasty, however, the salmon nigiri was super delicious and buttery. The crispy hamachi was also super delicious. I also enjoyed my drink which was the La chula. I don't think my 9 pieces of sushi and 1 drink was worth $80 but that's Miami for you. My friend also got the bang bang shrimp tempura pieces and we didn't realize it came with blue cheese crumbles on it so that was pretty nasty and inedible. All in all, this place was not the vibe. Service wasn't that great, it was kinda dirty, and food was overpriced for not being that great. Will not be back.
