This place is officially part of my permanent takeout rotation whenever I'm in DC for work. Convenient location, easy ordering, friendly staff, and most importantly, really great quality food. I usually build my own poke bowl depending on my mood that day, but the ahi poke is always a must. Honestly, it's the closest in freshness and flavor to Hawaii that I've found on the mainland. Lots of toppings, sauces, and sprinkles to choose from, and the prices are very reasonable for the amount and quality you get. Definitely coming back every time I'm in town. read more

Very delicious. A little pricey but not the worst. You get a lot for one bowl and it's delicious!! I really enjoyed the lomi salmon and all the toppings they had to offer. To order you go to a machine and you can select whatever you want from there. They have a very extensive Kenny of options when it comes to drinks. Minimal staff interaction. The welcome to the jungle read good but tasted really weird, I couldn't identify anything going on with the drink and I ended up drinking only like 1/4 of the drink before throwing it out. It's a very tropical oriented drink, however the chunky pieces of the fruit offset the balance of everything already going on in the drink. This is a huge portion and a delicious poke bowl. I'm always hesitant to eat raw seafood but this place is delicious and safe. The service was prompt and he provided guidance about spice levels. I got the sauce on the side for an extra 10 cents. It's a really small container of sauce but a perfect size for me. One of my favorite poke places in DC that I'm surprised I don't go here more! It helps that they also have boba - so many choices of milk and fruit teas and with the most fun names like "Taro Reading," "Oreo Speedwagon," and "I'm Your Biggest Flan!" I like the taro and honeydew. Make a hard right when you enter and you can see the boba menu & make an order on the touchscreen. For the poke they really load up your bowl with toppings which makes it feel worth the price. On my most recent visit tried the spicy salmon volcano bowl and it was yummy. Everything from the ahi tuna, salmon and imitation crab meat is a quality. 2) the manager here is a really cool dude. He's positive and he's always got a good attitude. I know he's been there for a while. 3) the place has a decent amount of tables if you want to eat in. The negatives: 1) it's definitely on the pricier side. It's $20 for medium bowl of poke so it's an upscale bite for sure. 2) the flavors are not great. The bowl doesn't really mesh well together and I think it lacks an overall taste component. There are a million sauces and it's hard to choose the right one. I got the wasabi shoyu, ginger and sweet chili. I think there was a lack of sauce for sure. Good service, good quality ingredients but again at $20 it's for me to give this any more than a 3/5 stars. Maybe the signature bowls are a decent option. read more

Poke papa! Even though I didn't get to try their poke bowls, their food looked fresh and a lot of different toppings to choose from. I decided to try two drinks, both very different from each other. The oreo speedwagon was my favorite! Super creamy and not overly sweet. I also like the Brazilian Lime-bada but just wished it was more creamy. Overall their drink menu had a lot of interesting flavors and a large selection which was almost overwhelming. There's a lot of sitting available and although inside wasn't super busy at the time of my visit, there were a lot of takeout orders so keep this in mind. This meal was a little disappointing. I got the small white rice bowl that comes with 2 protein toppings. The rice is generous and the protein was sufficient in amount, but I got the raw plain tuna and salmon and they had a pretty strong fish taste. I'm usually not sensitive to raw fish tastes at all but I had to pick out the protein this time... They barely put any sauce on my bowl even when I mixed it the bowl tasted pretty bland. For toppings there's a lot to choose from but I feel they don't put enough because after I mixed everything, I got mouthfuls of rice and fish but didn't really taste the toppings. I'm not sure if skimping on the toppings and sauce is because of the inflation right now but I expected more and probably won't be going here again. read more
