Poke Jay has been my go-to for Poke bowls for the past 5 years. Jay makes sure he has the best cuts and my bowl is a taste synergy everytime. My favorite is the Tuna Avocado with 3 chillis chopped (yes I love spicy). You can make you own bowl but whether you choose this or a specialty bowl you will never be dissapointed. Its 5 minutes from the beach..so grabbing this before or after a hit's the spot! A must try and honestly one of my favorites in Boca! read more

I've been here about five times in the past six weeks since moving to Boca, and I have been enjoying the food and the service (5/5 stars). Today (8/11/2025) was different. I (a Black female) walked in around 5:20 PM, the bell rang, and I stood waiting for about two minutes with no one coming out. Then, a white male walked in, the bell rang again, and immediately a young woman with black glasses appeared. Through the swinging door, I could see her male co-worker sitting on a low stool doing nothing. It even looked like she had been sitting next to him, and at one point, I noticed him wipe his lips, which made me wonder if they had been back there making out. I wondered if there was a CCTV in the back and they saw me come in and decided that my service wasn't wanted or were they just back there deep in their shenanigans? I don't know, I'm trying to make sense of it without going into the deep end, but what I do know is that the experience was uncomfortable and unwarranted. I still enjoyed my food, but if my business isn't valued or if I am being treated differently because other factors, you can let me know so I know where I'm not wanted. read more

Great poke place in east Boca! Located next to Mizner in a small strip plaza. Parking can be rough especially during season! The selection looked great and it was hard to choose. We ordered two bowls and both were fantastic!! The Hurricane came with hamachi and had wonderful flavors!!! The fish was on point. Great sauces. The other bowl was Nemo & Iron Man. Wow so good! Had salmon and tuna, spicy mayo and house sauce. You can mix and match to create your own bowl. Each bowl was very satisfying and filling .... Without being miserable. Poke Jay is located in a shopping center near Mizner Park and is a treat. There is a community board that one can view while waiting for their meal. It's a small venue with lots of choices written on a wall menu. The bowls have fresh ingredients and can include raw fish but the option to cook is available. The portion sizes in the bowls are generous. I'm glad that I finally tried this for lunch. After a hot morning at the beach all I was craving was a refreshing poke bowl, and Poke Jay delivered. As soon as I walked in, the sweetest worker greeted me and asked me if I have been here before. She explained the menu and their signature bowls and even offered some suggestions. I decided to go with the spicy krab bowl and was even able to add some extra toppings! My absolute and only place to get poke. I love the options of sauces and toppings. I feel like any other poke place I've tried just has a few options to choose between and still, flavor wise I just think I could run through a grocery store and grab the ingredients to throw in a teeny bowl. But Poke Jay has a bunch of yummy and fun stuff--I love the Thai chili and pickled radish options in particular (but these two are just the tip of the iceberg--they even offer 3 different seaweeds). Just really intentional flavors available to choose from. And I love the ability to choose from the free toppings it feels like you're getting more where again, other places limit you to choose between a couple--super basic toppings at that! I ordered a bowl online for pickup right when they opened. When I got there they were still setting up and the staff was helpful. I really liked the decor of the place but it's not somewhere I would sit and eat a meal with a friend as it is a little smaller so I prefer takeout. The food was amazing and fresh and I loved the variety of options they have so even picky ish eaters can find something they will like. I like Poke Jay. The ingredients are above-grade fresh looking and tasting. I was immediately greeted when I arrived by a server who asked if I had any allergies to any ingredients, which I appreciated even though I do not. I liked that even though this is a "bowl" place, there were several pre-thought-out selections, but not too many as I find in these sorts of places. It did not take long to decide on the Samurai Bowl, which consisted of salmon poke, peanuts, mixed greens, onions, sliced cherry tomatoes, and a few other ingredients. I added roe (I should have asked for it on the top rather than mixed in) and some crunchies. The medley was mixed with a spicy dressing. My server asked if that was ok. I wish the dressing were slightly spicier. I've decided that I am not a huge fan of mixed greens. To me, mixed greens do not provide any crunch or flavor. All in all, Poke Jay is an excellent addition to the downtown East Boca area. My hairdresser is in the same strip center (shout out to Curlspirations and especially Rob Marrone) so I would go back but probably order another option without the greens. Yes. Parking is ridiculously horrible and sparse here. However, with a teeny bit of patience, you will get a spot. I promise. I go to the hairdresser every month and have never had to wait more than 5 minutes to park. read more

Stopped in at Poke Jay today for lunch. This was my second visit. Parking was very tough. We couldn't get a spot in the lot outside the shop, so we had to do municipal parking nearby for $4. The line moved pretty quickly and the servers were friendly and efficient. I went with the salmon over sushi rice and greens, and for toppings I went with garlicky soy sauce and spicy mayo, crispy garlic, spicy Thai peppers, roasted seaweed, red onions, cucumber, hijiki seaweed, daikon and jalapeños. They poke was well made, fresh and delicious. I really enjoyed it. The only negative about Poke Jay is the lack of seating. They have like 4 seats inside and 4 outside. When we arrived it took some time for a table to open up. Fortunately the wait wasn't long, but I could see how this could be an inconvenience if you arrive at prime lunch time. The portions of protein are really small and while taste is good, meals are unsatisfying versus poke bowls we've had elsewhere. I love poke bowls and saw this spot had great reviews. There's plenty of parking available. The place itself is small but very nicely decorated and clean. The service was GREAT, the guy making my bowl was extremely friendly. My only complaint is the portions were so small and the price was higher than similar spots I've been to that give double the portion size. I ordered a build your own bowl ($14). I chose the sushi rice base, which I wasn't crazy about but at the time, I only noticed the choice of either rice or spring mix. I just now saw online spring kaiso (seaweed salad?) as an option, I would have gone with that had I known. I did half tuna and half salmon for the protein. The scoops were extremely tiny in my opinion. I added seaweed salad which was 1.50. I should have just chosen spring kaiso for the base and not gotten charged extra for the small amount that was added. I added toppings to my liking that were all fresh and tasted good but I feel their selection wasn't as extensive of other poke places I've been to. The bowl was good but I was still hungry after I finished it. Perhaps there are better options to choose from in the menu? I would frequent this spot if the prices were just a bit lower and the portions were just a bit more generous. Regardless, the service was very friendly and it is a nice spot. read more

We didn't have a great experience this past Sunday and sent the store a private message sharing the issues we had. After many attempts from the owner to contact us, we finally got a chance to speak. He was very sincere, humble, and apologetic and didn't try to make any excuses. They had hired some new staff and those employees needed further training. It was a one-off and every restaurant has bad days. The efforts of the owner to right the wrong, even offering to drive the new bowls over to us personally, was above and beyond! We thanked him and said it wasn't necessary. He wanted us to try his place again this time to see what his bowls are REALLY like. I get that consistency is key, but sometimes you don't have control of your new hires and people can make mistakes. No one is perfect, but how you handle problems and present resolutions are signs of a successful business owner. Kudos to Jay for his professionalism and thoughtfulness. I would like to recommend Poke Jay and say that if you ever have a problem or aren't satisfied with your food, just know that Jay will do everything in his power to make it right!! Best poke bowls I've ever had - and this is coming from someone who could exclusively eat raw salmon breakfast lunch and dinner. The fish tastes really fresh. The ingredients are of good quality. More important than that though, is the staff that made both of my visits so memorable. We just moved to Boca from Michigan and we even tell our back at home friends and family how great this place is. Max is incredibly friendly, and I wish I knew the girls name who works there because she's just as sweet.
