My husband and I visited here a few months ago and to be honest, it wasn't as good as other poke places in town. I wasn't going to review it because I didn't have much to say about it. And I wasn't planning a return visit. Then recently, my husband ate there when I was doing something else. When I got home he told me there were leftovers in the fridge. So I knew something must be off because this man almost never has leftovers. In the fridge I found a bowl with a lot of rice and a really large amount of edamame. He told me that he had even eaten a full-sized serving of rice and edamame at the restaurant, but there had been such a large amount of it compared to other ingredients that he couldn't finish. I took a classic boba stop while on a long road trip, and downtown Omaha was the place to go! Poke Boba is really cute from the outside. But unfortunately I can't exactly say the same about the inside. It almost seemed like they were renovating or missing something, or maybe it was just due to the still closing pandemic. They had a very nice and ranging menu. I didn't try a poke bowl so I can only speak for the drinks. I got a passionfruit drink with tapioca. The passionfruit was excellent. It was sweet and tart, but the boba was a different story. It was so weird I still don't exactly know what to think. The boba were tiny, basically dip n dots size, or slightly bigger, which is much smaller than your average tapioca boba. I was fine with the weird size difference, but the textures were so inconsistent- some of the boba were soft and chewy like they should be, but others were so hard I spit some of them out. (not like a spit take, more of a dribble and throw them outside lol) So yeah not really sure what was up with those. I'm not sure if that's how they always are or if I just suffered a spoofed boba. Poke Boba House's tucked away location is easy to miss but definitely worth the stop. Their wide array of ingredients fosters the perfect environment for creativity and a happy belly. At the time of my first visit to this cute little shop, I had never tried poke before. The employee there was so patient as she offered me very helpful suggestions, and wow, I'm so glad I took them! The ingredients came together beautifully and created the perfect meal. The servings are large too - I was only able to eat half and packed the rest for later! While the food was delicious, I was less impressed with their boba. The drink itself was not the best, and the boba consistency seemed a bit off. Best of Omaha?! For those that voted, all I can say is that I don't think you get out very often. I always try to give a restaurant a second chance after a 'bumpy' first impression. The restaurant is located in the building formally Julio's Mexican restaurant. First impression was that the restaurant was adequately clean, and seem to do a fairly brisk business. The individual that helped me was respectful did a nice job and put together my poke bowl as requested. The restaurant does offer several sauces that I haven't seen in other area poke restaurants. Presentation in the bowl was somewhat sloppy in that everything was just piled on top of each other unlike experiences at other locations where the food is distincly laud out in the bowl for a nice visual. The prices are fairly standard although there seem to be a lot of extra costs and smaller portions seen compared to other area poke restaurants. Overall, a fair experience and pretty tasty poke. This location does not offer any soft drinks. We returned again this week to try some alternative poke ingredients and had the same experience with portion size, presentation, and pricing. The one thing of significant concern was when the server dropped the raw fish on the counter they used the food scoop to push it back into the bin and then used a dirty towel from another counter to wipe up the surface. Leaves me questioning the sanitation of the restaurant and will probably prevent me from going back here again. Better training may help to address the issues cited however until then this is definitely not the best of Omaha. read more

Wandered across this absolute gem this week and couldn't be more surprised. The location is easy to pass by as it is right next to a tattoo parlor and public parking lot...but definitely worth the visit for the boba (haven't tried the poke menu items). Boba shops have popped up in drives recently, but this one hits the mark. Soft fresh boba, expansive menu, inviting and bright shop layout, and helpful employees. The wait was a little longer than I would have hopes (10 minutes), but it was very busy and that's what happens with a tasty boba shop, so I wasn't off-put. Most boba shops have ice level and sweetness level options, but it seems that isn't the case in Omaha. I'm excited that there's finally poke in Omaha, and another option for boba. I hope that many more places open up to increase options. That being said, I'm being generous with 4 stars here because I want these places to succeed. However, if I'm comparing this place to somewhere in CA, then it'd be ranked at 3 stars. I got a 2 scoop bowl with rice, tuna, salmon and lots of toppings. Also a Thai tea boba. The food and boba were all pretty good, but nothing was great. The fish was fine, and toppings were all good. However, the employee squeezed way too much sauce onto the bowl, so the rice was saturated with it, which overwhelmed the overall flavor. Definitely monitor how much they sqeeze and let them know to stop when you want. The Thai tea was ok, and the boba itself was good. But here, just like most boba places in Omaha, they don't have enough tea flavor in the drink. It's too weak for me, but that's really an issue with most places in town. Finally, I do feel like this place is a bit overpriced for the amount of food you get. It's the only option downtown for poke, so that may play into it. This place is definitely on the good side of the scale. The place was recently renovated and the decor is lot different from the old noodle house it used to be. The tall benches might be a little awkward for some but serves their purpose otherwise. The Taro and Honey Dew boba we ordered were OK...but not sure if my taste buds were fooling me a bit due to the spicy flavors of the Poke bowl I was enjoying at the same time. I was initially excited to hear Omaha had finally opened a poke place, but I was sadly disappointed with both the service and quality of food I received. It took forever to get acknowledged, then I got extremely skimpy servings of poke toppings! It's hard to convince me to pay $14 for a bowl of primarily rice, a few edamame beans, and a couple of mini cookie dough sized ball of fish. The avocado wasn't fresh, neither were most of the veggies. I'm giving Poke Boba House the benefit of the doubt, as they were primarily new when I visited, so hopefully they have improved since then. read more

You can order in-store, or you can order online and stop by to pick it up. I love the Thai Tea, Red Bean Matcha, Honeydew Milk Tea,, Coconut Milk Tea, Brown Sugar Milk Tea, Peach Oolong Tea, Jasmine Honey Tea, Passion Fruit Tea,Jasmine peach Tea, they are all so good and I have many more yet to try. I've liked pretty much every one I have tried. You can customize the drinks as well. I tend to like the tapioca pearls better than most of the poppings but it really depends on the drink. We went on a Sunday and it was quiet in the afternoon. With the Sun stretching it's rays on our table through the windows, we all enjoyed Poké bowls. I was NOT disappointed!! Everything tasted fresh, and made to order. I recently got out of the hospital and I have to be careful about spicy or hard food that dont sit well. I was happy to find that a "make your own bowl" was an option. And it's not stingy. You can get your protein with 3 of these toppings, 3 of these toppings, and more- and it's the same price as a pre-made dish. The person I was with got the Omaha Bowl with a Jasmine float (75% sweetness). I thought I was being adventurous with the jelly. I should just stick with regular boba from now on. Also, the Sea Bowl is not very good. Very small shrimp and not very good flavor. My partner's food was good. My gf and I went here last weekend because we both LOVE Poke bowls and this place didn't disappoint! It's basically a Subway for Poke bowls: you pick your two proteins, rice, three? add-ins and toppings. They have a few pre-conceived bowls that you can choose, as well. The bowls are $10, which is good for Poke. The fish tasted really fresh and was cut up perfectly. The rest of the ingredients were all really fresh too. The portion was perfect as well. I had their Peach Aloe Boba tea, which was really good, but almost had too much 'jelly' in it. I would ask for a lot less 'jelly' next time. The service was great too. I heard a lot of good things about this place either from friends or the reviews I've seen on Yelp, unfortunately I have to disagree with most of it . Firstly, it's hard to get to cause it's located at downtown where it's hard to find park (plus you have to pay for parking). So unless you're already in the area, I find it hard to get to them. Second is the price tags on both the poke bowl and the drinks which I think is a little pricey compared to other places. The most disappointing part is the flavor of the drink. I got the brown sugar milk tea & I cannot even taste the brown sugar, it's basically just like regular black milk tea . They do have a cute and comfy seating area though. I just came for boba, but I will say th3 food looked fresh and lovely. Staff was incredibly helpful answering my questions, and making recommendations off my preferences. I loved the menu variety, and despite having a hard time deciding it was absolutely not overwhelming. Will definitely keep it in mind for future Omaha visits. Being from Hawaii, I know what a good poke bowl is like. By no means am I comparing the quality between the two states, however, I have many reasons for rating this place one star. If you order a poke bowl, you want poke, not just 99% of it rice, and a few pieces of fish. The limit the amount of actual seafood you get and cover it up with a bunch of other "perks" like sauces and random toppings. While the location is located downtown next to a lot of other restaurants, you get the "lovely" aroma of smokers before you eat since there is a smoke shop right next door. We didn't bother sitting outside - we just grabbed it and left. The boba was typical. Nothing out of the ordinary. I was slightly irritated that I had to wait a few minutes because they were still cooking the white rice, but nbd in the grand scheme of things. Cost and Value: * I feel like pricing is quite fair. You get to choose 2 ($9.99) or 3 ($11.99) proteins, and you can add another for $2. They're pretty reasonable with portions. I'd say one scoop is probably 2 ounces. Then you get to choose 3 add-ons ($1 for any extra, and for avocado). Finally you can choose any number of sauces and any number of toppings. * I got a bowl with white rice, octopus, white tuna, spicy tuna, and salmon --my add-ons were 2x seaweed, and cucumber--sauce I chose ginger --toppings I got tempura flakes, sesame seeds, and masago. All of that, plus an order on toponyaki (which was DELICIOUS) cost about $24. They give you hella rice too, so you definitely should be full and satisfied by the time you leave. 4 stars instead of 5 because I felt a bit rushed when ordering (I was the only person there). and I told the employee it was my first time there, and she didn't explain anything to me aside from that I could build my own bowl or choose from one of their set options. First time ever trying poke. And I love it. Very cute spot in downtown Omaha. I paid almost $20 for a poke bowl and bubble tea. Kinda pricey but the food seems to be good quality. And the portions are pretty generous. So far I've tried the brown sugar milk tea and the honeydew milk tea. Both tasted really good, but so far I prefer the honeydew more. I definitely plan on going back. The tables inside are huge! I hope single eaters are ok with sharing a table. Finally a poke place in Omaha!! Food is amazing and fresh. If you don't know what poke is, it's essentially a seafood version of chipotle. Healthier for you and they don't use any fatty oils.
