My partner and I stopped in since we were craving poke, and while I didn't have any expectations, this cozy little shop was fantastic! It's similar to most poke spots in a build-your-own bowl format. The woman helping us made sure to let us know that the bowls were a better value than the poke burrito, which was kind. We each got our own bowls with our own toppings, and she helped us navigate some of the options based on what we like. My partner does not like any spicy sauces, so the woman was super helpful when he asked what she would recommend for him. He also really loved that they offered tomatoes in their toppings. I enjoyed my bowl--the fish tasted fresh and even though mine had a salad base, I felt very satisfied and full at the end of my meal. Curiosity got the better of my partner and he ordered the poke burrito for us to split just so he could say he tried it. All in all, we thought the service was great, the fish tasted fresh, and the topping selection was huge! We'd definitely come back when in the area. read more

This spot is a small hole in the wall. The service was fine. The portions were pretty big and I was offered a free miso soup for ordering a regular bowl. My biggest complaint is that the salmon was extremely fishy and the spicy mayo tasted bad. I couldn't finish my entire bowl and threw it away. Their loco sauce was good but I couldn't stand the fish and the spicy mayo. I would not come back here again unfortunately. read more

Poke Ave is TOP NOTCH!! Everything is as FRESH as you can get. The owners are extremely nice and helpful. We come once a week since we live so far but it is absolutely worth it. DO NOT RECOMMEND!! I was very excited to eat here, I ordered large poke bowl. The bowl itself is large, but the portions don't fit the bowl for the price. I had to add 2 more scoops making my total $28 which i was fine with until I ate the food. The white rice was overcooked and very hard as if it's been sitting there all day. The salmon itself had a lot of hard chewy parts which I've never experienced at other restaurants. Overall very disappointing and waste of money. read more

Best Poke in town. Poke is similar to sushi just chopped up with tasty sauces and additional ingredients of your choice. Food is delicious and love the bowls, sauces and soup. The servers are quite handsome too (just saying...). You can eat inside too has a small sit down, relaxing restaurant ambience. read more

Food Quality: White Rice Poke Wrap The food was fresh and very delicious as I got my Tuna, Salmon scoops, and 3 toppings. The 911 sauce is a must-try for spicy lovers! (5/5) Service: Service was fine. The lady kinda seemed impatient while I was ordering, but I'm not too sure so I will give her the benefit of the doubt (4/5) Ambiance: This place was clean and with no one eating around the time I was there. It's mostly a to-go spot, however, there are a few seatings there if you want to just eat around. (5/5) Value: The lady serving me barely added any tuna and salmon for the scoops. For around $20, it was 100% not worth it. I would not go again for the wrap due to its inflated price. Haven't been here in a while but am happy to say it's still good! I'm a little bummed the prices are kinda high now ($16 for regular bowl and $19 for a large), but I do think they have better quality fish than your run-of-the-milk poke place in this area. The place is super immaculate and I love that they give free filtered water. Service was really friendly and helpful. What I recommend: brown rice, salmon + surf clam protein. For sauce, spicy mayo + ponzu + sesame oil. For toppings, masago + crunchy onion and garlic + seaweed. If you like avocado, add that too :). I have eel sauce in my bowl, but don't recommend that since it makes it a little too sweet. Some people love seasoned seaweed (the one on the bottom of the picture), but I think you can skip it. read more

Absolutely rude! I didn't even get a chance to sit down and enjoy their food because the rude service. I walked in the door and asked (what I thought was a simple question)if she could show me the different sizes she was rude in her response and attitude. How would I know ALL BOWLS we're going to be the same size. I've never been here before. It was a simple question... definitely will never support this business read more

Way overpriced for how ~not~ fresh anything is. The miso was sour, the crab salad was really fishy, there were chunks of completely hard rice, and my tuna was really gray. Guess we will see how my body responds in the next few hours. read more

Absolutely love this spot! I work down the street so I come here at least once a week because IT'S SO GOOD!!! Definitely my favorite poke spot around in ALL of OC. I eat fish 1-2 times a week if it's not sushi it's poke and this place really is always a hit and their customer service is amazing! Love them. read more

The portion sizes here are so freaking HUGE!!! The worker would not stop scooping tuna into my bowl!! I have never ever gotten that much poke for that price at any other poke place i have ever been too!! Not only are the portion sizes giant, but the poke is AMAZING. The tuna was so and the texture was just *chef's kiss* !! Such high quality!! The ponzu and loco 2 sauce were just right- not too salty or overpowering. The green onions were so fresh, crunching and so flavorful. Rice was pretty standard, but still really good. They have a wide variety of different fishes, toppings, bases, and sauces to pick and choose from and FREE miso soup! The service was great, the workers were so attentive and patient!!. The lady behind the counter was so friendly and nice! This is officially my new favorite poke place and I will be coming very often whenever I am craving poke (at least once a week)!!!!! read more

Poke Ave is my go-to lunch spot in Brea. They serve generous portions with fresh ingredients for a decent price, about $10/bowl. The set up is like any other poke place (1. base, 2. toppings 3. fish 4. sauce). The regular bowl comes with 3 scoops of fish, and is enough food for one person. Extras such as additional crab meat or avocado is $0.75 and well worth it because they give a generous serving. There are a variety of sauces including ponzu, spicy mayo, eel sauce, etc. They also have a loyalty program in place with a card that you have stamped each visit. It is based on the amount you spend- for every $10 spent, you earn 1 point. Once you get 10 points, you receive a free bowl. I am always satisfied with the quantity and quality of food when I go to Poke Ave. There are many poke places in Brea and surrounding areas, but I suggest you stop by Poke Ave. read more

I was very surprised at how nice and clean this establishment is. It's small with a normal subway type food stations exposing all the options right to you while being protected by a glass shield. My friends and I began to order and I went with a regular which included 3 scoops plus a scoop of spicy crab. Let me tell you, this place is not cheap on their portions. In just the regular size they provided a great deal of fish and some great options for toppings. I did a base of a little bit of brown rice and salad which mixed perfectly. Ther service was quick, and their plate presentation was on point. The taste was fresh and the only thing that was missing was a bit more spice. I think they go light on the spice maybe for their demographics. But overall it was enjoyable and fresh, probably my second favorite Poke' in California. read more

decent lil place! i wanted spicy mayo. my bowl was really dry. they gave me no soy sauce. i mean thanks for the free miso soup on a hott 100 degree california day. they seemed to have a decent variety of sauces. the ponzu seemed spicy and different thannthe regular ponzu (i think the chick grabbed the wrong one) my food wasnt really spicy. i may come back if im in the area but i wouldnt make a special trip. read more

Poke was okay. I had it once before and it was pretty good, maybe today was just a bad day, but this time the fish pieces were cut into really really tiny cubes. Not only that, but $19 for a large bowl is ridiculous. I have been to many different poke places where the large is not more than $14. Even if the bowl is $19, it's fine, but the person serving the toppings didn't do a good job. I got a ridiculous amount of wasabi and ginger and very little rice, seaweed salad, and cucumber. I will say the ratio of fish was a decent amount. The last thing that really frustrated me was when I asked for sauce on the side, she gave these insanely tiny cups. I have never seen a sauce cup that small. Overall it just didn't seem worth the price. read more

I've been here several times since my last review and this spot officially takes on the TOP SPOT of my favorite Poke Bowls spots of all time. First off, the service here is top notch. Many times when I go in, the owners are in and they remember their regular customers and provide everyone that walks in with superb service. The few other times I've been recently, I've been helped by a younger, Asian man and he too, provides exceptional service, is very attention to detail, and gives the same amount of portions as the owners, which is very generous. Here is my standard order every time I go: Large bowl with extra white rice. For my toppings, I go with crab meat, seaweed salad, green onion, cucumber, edamame, jalapeno, cilantro, wasabi, and ginger. For my fish, I always go with 1 scoop of salmon, 1 scoop of tuna, 1 scoop of albacore, and 2 scoops of scallops. For my sauce, I like to get a light drizzle of ponzu and sesame oil, with a couple sides of their 911 sauce for the good kick. For my additional toppings, I go with their nori and masago. One thing that is very rare but this spot nails is the quality of their rice. The rice they serve is really consistent and no matter what time I go, the rice is always at an exceptional standard. All of their toppings are fresh and one thing to mention is that the crab meat is also very delicious and not too overly seasoned with garnishes or mayo. The raw fish here is the freshest you'll get. Sure, the cubes of fish are really small, but they make up for it by giving 2 SCOOPS for every SINGLE PORTION. This place gets your fish in a separate little bowl and hand mixes it together with the sauces, but I like to just get my fish straight on top of the bowl with the sauce drizzled on top. With that being said, a light ponzu with sesame oil drizzle is perfect and not too strong in flavor as well. Their 911 sauce is probably too spicy for 95% of the crowd, but it's really good especially with their scallops and tuna family, which includes albacore as well. One downside is that avocado is an extra charge. The price of the bowls have increased over time, but the quality and portions of the bowl are above and beyond. One extra upside is that a bowl of miso soup is included for a purchase of a bowl. The miso soup is delicious and not overly salty or bland! Like I've mentioned in my previous reviews, I have experience in the sashimi field and I 100% can say that this business offers to notch, fresh ingredients! I never feel rushed here and from what I've seen, they respect every single person that comes in for their business. Spectacular! read more

I walked straight in and went up to the line to place my order. I got a regular poke bowl (3 scoops of protein) Over brown rice and salad. I choose salmon, octopus & spicy tuna. I ordered green onion, jalapeño, cilantro, pickled ginger, Wakame (seaweed salad) & edamame. Then I got ponzu, loco II sauce, masago, wasabi and furikake on top. Also had a little cup of Miso soup. Great service, friendly staff. Clean atmosphere with good family friendly music. Delicious!!! I would definitely recommend and will return again. read more

Love this place. Definitely one of the best value poke place. Though they've increased their price recently, I still love coming here because they give big serving and they are walking distance from my work. Love getting the half white rice half veggies. Even a regular size looks like a large. The fish taste good, never had any bad experience with the fishes here. All the sides taste good too. And the workers are all very nice. The place is also very clean and it's never too crowded. Please stay in business so I can come by next time I go to work! I love this place. read more

For the price I would've expected more. The serving size was okay, I like how they give you free miso, but for even just one scoop of avocado to be an extra 1.50? I've managed to get a large five scoop, more generous poke bowl from other places for 15. And on top of all that I bit down on a bite and something really hard almost broke my tooth! I don't normally go out of my way to write reviews but this is solely on the service that was given to me. First time customer here. Thought it would be nice to get a really healthy meal after the gym. Looked on yelp and this had really great reviews on it. When ordering my meal towards the end I was asked if any addition sauces on top of my poke bowl and I mistakenly said my toppings instead. The lady gave me a straight face and said "any additional sauces on my bowl." . This rubbed me the wrong way bc the person with me also made the same mistake and stated their toppings instead. With no empathy, it came off rude. No bedside manners and just being impolite. Don't know if she was having a bad day but not a good first impression. read more

Poke Avenue is the best Sushi Bowl place that I have had the pleasure of eating at. My whole staff of 75 people eat there 2-3 times per month. We drive from Newport Beach on the weekends to eat lunch there because their food is so fresh and the owners are passionate about quality. I took a friend of mine their from Monrovia and he loved it so much, he said he will come back this weekend with his family. Covid shutdowns almost took this business down, but the owners didn't quit. Their prices went up slightly but their quality new has failed. read more

Made reservations for the patio area(we like because it's quieter)and we were seated right away. We ordered a great red from Sicily 'Nero D' Avolo'. I ordered the Linguine Alla Vongole (clams). It was amazing. My wife got the Penne Primavera. She loved it and had it for lunch the next day. The staff is super friendly and again the manager came by to say hi and ask how everything was.
