Tiny portion of spicy tuna. Barely counts as one bite.
    Candy W.

This is the worst poke bowl I've ever had in my life. Their "large" portion is the size of a regular portion at other places. Not only that but their sauce is not good and the bowl overall is very bland and sad looking. Look at the scoop of spicy tuna which counts as 1 protein. It's literally a third of the size of other places. The spicy tuna is tasteless and the crab salad is shredded imitation crab without any sauce or seasoning. I tried calling multiple times to make sure that they didn't give me the wrong order but their phone doesn't work. I am so upset that I ordered 3 bowls Togo just to be met with disappointment. I'm never coming here again and warning those of you who love poke to not come here.

Came for Saturday lunch. Parking can be difficult with lots filling up and finding street parking. The poke stall is inside a small grocery store Ava's but it was empty when I got there. Service was quick and friendly and there is both indoor and outdoor seating. 8/10 Large Bowl $ - half rice/salad, 4 proteins (tuna x2, salmon, scallop), bunch of toppings, sauces and come with miso soup which was just ok. Fish was all fresh and mixed well in their sauces! Portion size is ok for the price. Notable adds were the crunchy toppings (garlic and onions), pineapples, imitation crab, seaweed salad, and spicy aioli sauce. Recommend getting this bowl for value and splitting with a friend.

I've heard great things about this place and decided to try it out. Unfortunately, my experience didn't line up with what I've heard. The rating is solely based on the food. There was nothing wrong with the staff, cleanliness, location, etc. Now onto the food. I ordered a large poke bowl with several toppings, and got a free "miso soup". At $24 this combo is relatively expensive. The two things that really stood out to me were: 1) the miso soup was just warm water with green onions. They must have forgotten the miso flavoring? I took a large gulp and just got some warm water, which caught me off guard. 2) what is their spicy tuna? I was expecting chunks of tuna with spicy sauce. Instead, I got ground-up fish that *might* be tuna, mixed with a lot of fish eggs (which I hate). Overall, the portions are pretty big and the salmon is good. But half of my bowl being spicy tuna and flavorless miso soup kind of ruined this place for me.

Poke Bar is tucked away in a market located downtown Mountain View. The girl that helped me was super nice and the fish portions are pretty good and generous. There was no line so I was quickly able to order and get my bowl. Most of the ingredients are pretty fresh except the avocado that was starting to brown a little bit- that could be because I came towards the end of the day. They have tables outside the market so you can sit down and enjoy. Do recommend coming here for a quick meal! Hopefully the avocado is freshly cut next time

Large portions, solid service, but a miss for me. There's a few tables outside to eat at, but no indoor seating. Grabbed two bowls, a small and a large. I don't like being a contrarian when others seem to really like this place, but the ingredients didn't seem that fresh when I visited. While the poke bowls were packed to the brim, this was the first time I didn't want to finish my poke bowl, like ever. I love that this spot is well-loved but something about the taste/mix of the poke just wasn't good for me. Maybe I'll come back another time to give Poke Bar another go!

Good food, awesome service! Love the freedom of selecting all the toppings I like, and bring them home for a satisfying meal.

Great quality for the price and quantity they give!! I wasn't expecting such a huge bowl of fish and toppings but this could definitely be two whole meals worth of food. I love that some toppings that normally cost extra (seaweed salad and crab) comes with any bowl, and they are pretty generous loading up on toppings. The flavors sometimes get pretty salty, so I would try to balance the fish out with the sauce you pick, especially since the sauces are a hit or miss. It was in a small grocery store in Mountain View, so it's a little bit difficult to find, but once you know the spot, it's so easy to keep coming back. Because of this though, it's a bit hard to find accessible seating, so I had to walk pretty far to sit down and eat. Overall great spot, I always feel so healthy after getting poke, so this will become my new go-to quick lunch!

I got a small bowl and it was plenty for lunch, I felt very satisfied. Super fresh ingredients. The raw salmon melted in my mouth. I never had raw octopus, I tried it and the texture wasn't my favorite. The kale noodles were really unique, they had a nice chew and flavor to them. I asked for a sweet and salty sauce and the worker mixed too sauces for me and it tasted very good. He was really nice. $20 all together with a drink. You choose your base which can be up two things, up to two proteins and as many toppings as you like. It's a takeout counter within a grocery store and there are tables outside.

Pretty good poke bowl ... maybe the best I've had in the area. Fish was pretty fresh. Toppings were good. Nice to sit outside the store and enjoy the weather. I had to get a couple bottles of still water from the grocery store because the Poke Bar doesn't sell regular bottled water ... Service was OK.

Got some takeout from here. Got 2 medium bowls. 3 scoops with white rice. The portions were huge, probably would've been fine with a small honestly! One complaint is that there just wasnt enough sauce. I wish they had tossed the fish in a bit more sauce, or if there was an option to add more sauce on the side. I just added some more kewpie sriracha mayo and soy sauce at home. Overall good for the price!

Great pricing, good topping options, but a bit salty. They season their rice heavily, and once you add any other sauces, it ends up being a sodium bomb. Located inside a little market, this place is easy to miss, but definitely worth a try. Crab salad, masago, and seaweed salad are free.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ~ A M B I A N C E ~ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Its a nice casual restaurant tucked away in Ava's Downtown Market in Downtown Mountain View/Castro Street! There is some outdoor seating, but it is not covered. You do get some a little bit of shade from a nearby tree. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ~ F O O D ~ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Small - 2 scoops of protein $11.50 Medium - 3 scoops of protein $13.50 Large - 4 scoops of protein $15.50 Choose between - Salmon, Ahi Tuna, Albacore Tuna, Scallops, Octopus, Shrimp, Spicy Tuna, and Tofu The BEST part is that seaweed salad is a standard side. You do NOT need to pay extra! WOOO! The Albacore was very peppery and had a very distinct but good flavor! The fish was fresh! The rice was still warm and fluffy! The imitation crab is plain imitation crab. It is not mixed with mayo or dressing or mashed, do not confuse with crab salad. It is simply shredded. Which is simple and delicious! Unagi sauce tastes just like what you would put on... UNAGI hahaha. If you like eel/unagi then I would ask for this sauce on the side! The PORTION SIZE IS AMAZING especially for what you pay for! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ~ S E R V I C E ~ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I got two large bowls the only thing different was the protein. Everything else was the same. [1] I requested Salmon, Ahi Tuna, Albacore Tuna, Scallops [2] I requested 2x Salmon, Ahi Tuna, Scallops Bowl [1] looked like it had a lot more fish than Bowl [2]. My husband and I debated and we placed our bets and weighed them. Bowl [1] was 1054 g and Bowl [2] was 950g. You can decide for yourself whether a 100g or 10% difference in weight is within the range of error/noise hahaha. Also both bowls some how ended up with Albacore Tuna, even though only one bowl requested Albacore.... Still delicious, but the order is still wrong. We didn't notice until we got home and started eating. Sad. Anyway, the cashier was nice and even offered us to put some of their new Unagi sauce on the side! Very sweet. We paid 10 cents for the bag, and then it promptly broke on us as soon as we walked out the door :( the bag also had a hole. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ~ O V E R A L L ~ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Regardless of the hiccups, we still love this place. Portions are big, fish is fresh, seaweed salad is included for free. When you order just make sure to order a different fish for each protein option rather than double/tripe up on one type of fish. This is so you don't get accidentally shorted a scoop of protein or end up with this 100g/10% difference in weight hahaha.

You can certainly dine outside in the patio areas on the streets too. Foods and beverages are fresh and delicious. It's been around for more than a decade, even when I used to work nearby in the area. It's catered to mostly working class people. Staffs are always busy fulfilling customer orders. They are all passionate and it shows when they hand the orders to customers. I watched them prepare the poke bowls too. Having two self service kiosks inside this tiny shop was a bonus. It didn't take too long to grab my order. It's a breeze here if you know what you want ahead of time. At the kiosks, you should always pick everything that is included/free for your bowl. Otherwise, your order may not turn out looking generous in portions or great. The system isn't set by default to fill in the items for you, so choose wisely to create the perfect bowl for you. I had the poke salad bowl with 3 proteins. Absolutely delicious and fresh. It reminded me of times when it used to be my regular lunch stop. My bowl was satisfying and I ate all of it: mixed salad greens, light seared lobster surimi, spicy tuna, ahi tuna (I thought I ordered salmon instead), cucumber, sliced onions, sweet corn, cabbage, edamame, kale, mango, tangerine, pineapple, seaweed, cilantro, peppers, medium flavored/ponzu sauce, seaweed salad, pickled ginger, sesame seeds, chili crisps, garlic crisps, strong wasabi (I should have skipped it), etc. Very nutritious and good. I was able to taste all the ingredients. I'll keep coming back for the super poke fixes.

It was too late to drive to Aloha Fresh, so my daughter found this place and suggested we give it a try. The interior is nice and spacious, and there's a decent amount of parking in this small complex. It's located next to Buffalo Wild Wings Express, which we may try another day for their BOGO deal. The menu has a lot of options, and the rolls seem reasonably priced. Unfortunately, the rolls stop at 7:30 PM, so it was too late for us to order the chu-toro, maybe next time. We ordered the viral spicy salmon nachos and a regular 3-fish bowl. The nachos came with a lot of tortilla chips but very little salmon. I did like the guacamole and the mix of corn and other toppings, but overall it was just okay. I still prefer the poke nachos at Aloha Fresh, they're cheaper, has more fish, and saucier. As for the 3-fish bowl, the portions of fish seemed small. We're used to the scoops at Poke House, which are bigger and slightly cheaper. The bowl was fine, but nothing special. We may come back to try the chu-toro roll and some of the other rolls, but probably not for the poke bowls or the nachos.

This place is a bit of a love-hate relationship for me, and it's hard to explain. Things started off pretty smoothly. Based on reviews, I was excited to see that they offer both good sushi and ramen--and that part is true. The sushi is really good and solid overall: fresh fish, flavorful roll combinations, and well-balanced rice/ingredient ratios. The ramen is decent. The broth is flavorful, though the chashu doesn't quite compare to what you'd get at a dedicated ramen shop. Still, it's nice to have ramen as an option, especially when dining with a group. That said, service took longer than expected, especially considering ramen is usually quick to prepare. To their credit, they noticed the delay and offered us complimentary edamame, which we appreciated. About 45 minutes in, the restaurant started filling up fast. We were almost finished but decided to order sweet shrimp nigiri, something we always try when it's available. Unfortunately, that's where things went downhill. Once the crowd came in, it became very difficult to get the staff's attention due to the influx of both dine-in and online orders. At least three other tables around us were also missing items or had orders forgotten--just like us. We placed our nigiri order at 5:34 p.m. and didn't receive the two pieces until nearly 7:00 p.m. We didn't even realize how long we had waited until we were leaving. Ironically, once we mentioned it to an employee, the order came out in less than five minutes. The explanation given to multiple tables was that there were too many online orders and they couldn't stop them (??) To me, this felt more like a communication and prioritization issue. Dine-in customers shouldn't be waiting 45 minutes for two pieces of nigiri or a single maki roll. They did offer us 10% off the bill, but it didn't fully make up for the frustrating experience. The food itself is undeniably good, and this place has a lot of potential. However, I wouldn't gamble my time here again unless the service issues are addressed. I really hope they find a better system, because the quality of the food deserves it.
