I have never been so disgusted with a gun range than with Point Blank Range. After spending around 2 thousand dollars at this business I will not be going back again. They don't care for their customers except what they can get out of them. I purchased my second hand gun there a few months ago and from the first day trying it out the gun was jamming. I got a few of the employees to use the gun themselves and they told me I needed to put around 600 rounds through it first. After shooting the gun for the third time and put to 300 rounds it still had multiple malfunctions. They agreed to send the gun back to the manufacture for repair and inspection. They assured me then they would talk about taking it back. My wife refuses to use the gun is I asked them to let me know what they can give me towards another hand gun. $200 was all they were willing to give and from day one it's been defective. The gun cost $700. You tell me if that's fair? Would you do business with a company that treats you so unfairly? The employee that offer the $200 said it with a smug look on his face and he could care less if I thought it was fair or not. Terrible company to do business with! read more

This range is great on so many levels! It is a new facility and it is beautiful! You can tell they will take great care of this property. My first visit was back in December. I was super nervous about stepping foot into a shooting facility...it has the potential to be very intimidating. My reason for visiting was my new found interest in hand guns/pistols. The first place I stopped was the gun counter right inside the front door. I spoke to the ranger and explained that I was a newbie and new very little knowledge about guns or their operation. He assured me that I was in a safe place, with great people, who would show me what I needed to do to have a fun and safe first shooting experience. I viewed an 8 minute safety video and was off to the range to select which pistols that I wanted to try. I was looking for a good fit for my future first purchase. I believe they had 20 shooting lanes. The cost was $20 per shooter for an all day pass, $20 to rent handguns of the same caliber, and $10 to upgrade to any caliber. Ammo for the 9mm was about $17 a box (which is a little steep), and ear and eye wear was $1 each. Targets were around $1 each. By the time it was all said and done with .... I had spent right at $100 on my first visit because I was having such a great time pumping through the ammo. This place is good for all people. I saw teens shooting pistols, grandmas shooting Assault Rifles, women and men of all ages shooting hand guns and shotguns. After the initial shock and thrill of my first experience, I became more comfortable in the environment. All of the Rangers are SUPER NICE, highly trained, and always willing to offer advice if asked. The 2 that come to mind first are Stacie and John. The range offers classes and individual instruction on many levels and at several price points. After saying all this, I feel like a regular now....just after a few visits. Much more confident than in my fist visit. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 lies in the service I received when I asked to purchase a Glock 19. I apparently hit the place after the Christmas Rush. They were sold out. I visited on a Monday night....and the guy who helped me told me to stop in between 10-4 to speak with the guy who does the ordering. So, I did just that. When i spoke with the guy about ordering.....he basically said bluntly that he would not be doing a special order for my inquiry because it's such a popular gun. He said that he would get around to ordering a replenishment stock and that I could check back in a month or two to see if they had come in. I was really wanting to do business with the range that I had had such great service with. I took his response as, "we don't really need your business that bad....sorry". I continued to look at other options....and a few minutes later, he revisited me at the counter and apologized for coming off as harsh and that he didn't mean it that way. I felt a little better about the experience after that. He could have probably kept my business by saying something like... "Hey man, I'm so sorry that we are sold out. I have ordered several Glock 19's. They should be in within a month or so. I believe that they are on back order. If you would like, I would be happy to take your information (and maybe a deposit) to secure one for you when they come in". If it were handled that way, Point Blank would not have lost a $600+ sale. No big deal really, I just went down to Hyatt Coin and Gun and picked up what I needed. All in all, there were no hard feelings. I really love Point Blank and will continue to shoot there on a regular basis. read more

First of all, the facility looked pretty cool. However, when we walked in for our training, not one employee was wearing a mask. No sign or social distancing either -- we turned around and walked out. It is their choice to not follow reccomendations, but they lost us as customers. read more

Not impressed with their customer service and price. Very expensive and staffs were som what rude if you have never handled guns before or have no knowledge in shooting. Well I did not and this was my very first visit to a shooting range and they treated me like I was a five years old. Not sure what went wrong there. Since then I visited other shooting ranges such as black stone near uptown, etc. and realized the point blank is very rude and not the norm where staffs treated inexperienced folks like a child. This is a Beautiful range with nice people. We where their to try out some Glocks to purchase. We also had to buy the ammo for the 9mm. I was shocked when I went to pay my bill and it was almost 200$. I got home and looked at my receipt and saw that each box of 9 mm amp was 60.$. I was shocked!!! I called some other ranges and the 9mm ammo is half that price. I am sorry to say we will probably not be back to shoot or purchase our gun or ammo from them. read more

This range is pretty nice. Very safety oriented and clean. They get very busy sometimes and still get you on a lane in a decent amount of time. The targets are controlled electronically so the distance you want to shoot at is not a guessing game. Be prepared to watch a safety video and get verbal instructions from one of the range safety officers before you get on the range. They give you good info, PAY ATTENTION !!! read more

This will be the easiest review I have ever written. Me and my buddy Neil and my 11-year-old son walked in to this and newly opened establishment and couldn't have been more blown away (no pun intended) At first glance we noticed the huge selection of Galco Holsters they had there. What really stood out next was Steve one of the firearm salesman he was very knowledgeable and extremely professional and very patient as my 11-year-old son asked him about every gun from his video game. Their prices were better than Gander Mountain and the staff 150% nicer and easier to talk to then the staff at firepower. I'm looking forward to doing all my firearm purchases and all my range time here. read more

It's an acceptable range. It's expensive; however the staff are friendly and helpful. One or two could use a refresher course on NC PPS board regulations in regards to proper range cadre etiquette. All staff also need to be reeducated on acceptable payment methods and ability or non-ability to split the bill between patrons. read more

Drew is very knowledgable and staff very friendly. I did have to have my background run to pickup my pistol I had cleaned. A little strange but I understand as there was not a formal procedure established when it was dropped off. Range is by far the best I've ever been to. While at the counter I did notice a man lay down a loaded 1911, no case, which made me a bit uncomfortable. I assumed it had been checked however there was a round in the chamber as I later saw him confronted at another counter, pistol was taken and emptied in the range. Great way to make a point and handle the situation. Range officer came out and said we now have a cleared firearm. Good for him. Unfortunately these folks are everywhere, ideally we could catch them at the door. No question as time passes this range will take over the Matthews area. read more

Point Blank was phenomenal to work with when I was trying to arrange an anniversary event for my wife and me. They were very accommodating; both with setting up a hands-on handgun introduction/practice range time as well as with the concealed carry class. A special shout out to Monika C for the intro and practice support. She was awesome and made it a very fun experience for both of us. Our concealed carry instructor, Melanie A, was great as well. So to get started, I posted a review about 3 weeks ago via Google + for Point Blank Range Matthews. I will not go into full detail as I did there, even though they have since deleted the Google review section of their page, to cover this bad review up. I have nothing bad to say about the range itself. The range is nice and well lit. Nice selection of firearms as well. I do have a problem with the staff though. Micah, good guy, also the sweet lady that works there. They would earn my business any day of the week, but other staff, not to mention names, but this short grumpy guy as well as another fella that couldn't help solve a simple problem. I feel as though me and my friends, who are experienced firearm enthusiasts, have been talked down to by these so called "professionals." I have to serve my clients to the greatest extent possible, and when spending money on large ticket items, this is crucial. Point Blank Range Matthews, does not show this trait to the fullest. read more

Outstanding... professional, clean, helpful, not intimidating at all. I've asked for help on the range and they have been outstanding...even oiled my pistol for me one time! Sales... I was about to buy a cleaning kit, and they brought me a better (less expensive recommendation). Took a lesson once, and it was very well done. All around great place...doing it right! read more
