To Point Blank Range in the Mooresville NC location I'm very disappointed in the service that was provided to me. I went to point blank range for the purpose of protecting my wife and myself after we had breakins at our apartment building. Between my wife and I we have taken 3 handgun lessons costing $450.00. I then decided to buy a shotgun for protection because we are not residents and could not qualify for a handgun. During my purchase I was advised that the MP 15 was a good choice over the shot gun. I purchased the MP 15 and signed up for the AR class to get familiar with the rifle. During the shooting part of the class my MP 15 jammed 3 times with only a box of 20 rounds, with Mike the instructor to verify. Other students went through boxes without a jam. I went back the next day and spoke to a new instructor who tested the gun. Again with that instructor the gun jammed. I was told to leave the rifle and come back at 1pm. At 1pm i returned and was told that the rifle was fired and it was ok. I then took it to the range and it jammed again. This gun was only fired inside your range and malfunctioned many times. I asked for a credit for the rifle to make a new purchase and spend all the money in your store. That request was denied. I was told the rifle would be sent to Smith and Wesson and would not be returned to me for 2-3 weeks. All together I have spent over $1500 in your place in the past two week. This process has made a very poor buying experience for me. The whole purpose of me buying a gun for protection has been delayed for many weeks because of a rifle i bought brand new that was defective right out of the box. I would hope that someone in authority would reverse the decision to refund my money so I could purchase another rifle and continue to be a loyal customer. Brand new rifle right out of the box and they make it my problem ! read more

This was a great trip to discover the range that is just off of the Independence freeway for the convenience of the people in Charlotte and other cities. This is a state of the art facility that uses the more "contemporary" clean cut approach to running the range and gun store. Things are kept neat and fancy and the staff is more engaging and helpful. They have a great set up for the shooting range. All of the guns are kept on pegs and have some sort of retail style lock on them. They also have something that is hard to find at a lot of shooting ranges: Bulk Ammo. They also offer your full line, buy everything you need in one place, array of merchandise. They got tons of classes and even have an all ladies Concealed Handgun Permit class. They even accepted the fact that I am really a woman trapped in a mans body and let me into the class with the other women. I didn't even have to go through the costly procedures that Bruce Jenner had to undergo to gain access into the class, what a bargain!. Okay if you can't take that joke you got issues. They are priced slightly higher for guns than their competitors but where else can you shoot all day for just $20? read more

These guys are fantastic! I know each member of the staff. Let me tell ya, they are super and knowledgeable. Their prices are middle of the pack but their ranges, and the facility is top notch. Important to me is that these guys have the best trainers in the Carolinas bar none. Beginning Shooting, Defense Pistol, Advanced Pistol, BullsEy/Marksmenship, Concealed Carry, etc. Do you watch T.V.? Look up "Top Shot" Season 2, and All Stars, recognize Brian Zins, and please know that he is the range manager and head trainer at this range. Daniel Richardson is his right hand Trainer he's just awesome. Stop by and say hello. They have discounts for Veterans. Tell them Justin sent ya. Stopping in is like stepping back in time, to the days before it was all about being a business transaction and into a time when you felt appreciated as a customer, even if you were just browsing. And you never know what you would find in their inventory. 100 year old milsurp? Got it. Current tactical firearms? Yes. Everything in-between? Absolutely. With their constantly changing selection of new and used firearms, it is worth stopping just to see what they have in inventory. I have purchased firearms from them and have taken my time looking them over, talked with the staff about them and have always been satisfied with the deals they offered. Someone commented that they felt cheated by not getting much for a firearm they sold to Bull Moose, and I get it. The most you should expect is about 50% of the average sale price on recent completed auctions. This means if you take the gun that you paid $600 for to them, and they see that used it will sell for around $400 online, you can expect at MOST $200. Sure, $200 for a $600 gun can seem like you are getting hosed, but that is not just this shop. That is any shop that needs to warranty and assume the risk of being able to even sell the gun at all. In fact, most shops I have dealt with are closer to 25% to 33% of recent sales value, so you'd get even less than $200 most places. In the end, this is a great place to browse, talk, compare and feel no pressure as you look for the best fit for your needs. Small businesses like this are how you should shop all the time.

I especially appreciated how serious they were in covering the law and individual responsibility when it comes to carrying a concealed weapon. Exactly how it should be. We were finger printed, filled out the necessary forms and applications and those of us who passed the written test and the range session were given our graduation certificate along with an envelope containing all we needed to submit to the state. Just had to write the check and send it in. They offer a wide variety of courses so check them out. Why this ended up as a three-star rating is that although their training programs are super, their store offers a limited selection of weapons, accessories and ammunition. A lot of that is economy dependent and might improve when the economy does. They do have weapon repair services and I did have a sight replaced with quick turn around.

I had my daughter with me (don't ask) and they had a ball with her. Plus they helped me get a gun that was suited for me and not just one i picked because I liked it. They are very knowledgeable and helpful in there. Plus they offer classes so if you are a rookie they can help you with that as well. Everything you need they have and if they don't have it I'm sure they could order it for you. They also can change the color of your gun there and adjust various settings on your gun.
