I was delighted to find a big selection of STEM games/activities, hot wheels, dress up gowns, and sports equipment. The staff are very helpful and will hold items for you at the register while you look around for more. It is a magical store for any kiddo. I've been to this store several times. There is a large variety of toys, a little pricey compared to some other places. The staff is friendly and helpful. I was looking for a specific toy so went on their website to look at the virtual tour and it showed they had it so I drove there to buy it, but couldn't find it. When I asked they said it was outdated. It would be super helpful to let people know the virtual tour online is indeed outdated to save people the trip. Overall a good store for a variety of toys, but the website does need an update. read more

Wow if your looking for the toy store of your dreams this is it! The only thing they are missing is hobby type stuff like RC cars and model trains but other than that this is the place! Don't even think of going to a box store for a birthday gift, just come here and tell them who your looking for a gift for and the expert staff will have you set in minutes! I'm afraid to bring my kids here because of the amount of temptation I'll have to battle from them. I have never visited this place, but I took the virtual tour on their website and I can easily say that it is truly an awesome toy store. The selection of BRIO trains is amazing; that's what my niece likes. I just think there website should display what's available and how much for each item. read more

08/09/2025 Afternoon time 1:30pm and there are a total of 7 people working and only one seeming to be capable of talking when someone approaches the counter. Halfway through my shopping experience, I go to the counter where there are five people standing around in a circle with no uniforms, a few on their phones scrolling, I have to guess if they actually work here, you know. Then they all look at me, I asked how they're doing and then for a key to the locked bathrooms, they all shrug and look at each other. Finally one responds who is standing closest to the keys and brings it over and places it on the counter. We all have off days, but no one seemed to have any idea of how to interact with customers, like...totally cool girl clique from grade school vibes. I decided to not use the restrooms after all because they keep the key on a giant green stick that looked gross. Not so cool girls. Recommended training for employees on how to interact with customers. It doesn't have to be awkward. Just get off your phones and talk to people. Perhaps an apron or a smock to indicate who is an employee. read more

One of the best toys stores in the Charlotte area, but I came in to return something, literally a day or two later because the toy is battery operated and doesn't work well. I'm not sure what's wrong with the toy, but regardless The old lady who works there treated me like I was doing something criminal. I've bought so many toys from this shop and this was literally my first return. Not the friendliest staff. Not sure I'll be back as often to buy toys here after this experience. read more

Fabulous toy store with excellent customer service! I needed a birthday gift and I wanted to support a local business. They were very helpful on the phone and gift wrapped my present! I paid over the phone and picked up easily. Easy to park in the lot at the store. Staff were all wearing masks and the store has incredible toys of everything you can imagine. I'm giving 5 stars. So many fun things. Prices are pretty good. I went with family and kids and we spent an hour here rummaging through toys, edibles, and board games. It's not the biggest but it's the best we have in the city. Give me some drones and other cool things for older ages, and more hobby focused, and I'd def be buying day of, instead of waiting for a delivery. So coooool. read more

I feel like the volume/quality of toy stores in America are on the decline--but that is not the case with Toy Mania, so it's nice to be able to come in and support a local brick and mortar toy store with fantastic customer service and a TON of inventory. I came in here on a Thursday night before Christmas to get some shopping done for my niece and nephew. Since I don't have children of my own, I struggle to buy toys online without being able to physically see what I'm buying and get a feel for what it is. The staff here is extremely helpful and the best part is that they will gift wrap your purchases for free. I also feel that the prices are quite economical, I ended up getting 4 items for less than $70. Very happy customer. read more

I was about to say welcome to the stinky store until, I forgot her name, spoke! This store has awesome finds but it's not really a friendly environment. The ora is stale and they don't really have any personality. They remind me of bougie folk, even the Hebrew one, which is sad... the products will keep me coming back, the people won't! I would give a 4 star if the staff took some cultural diversity classes, but until then, not pleased. read more

Let's face it- in our post-Covid world, customer service is pretty much dead. Toy Mania, unfortunately, is no exception. My daughter and I walked into the store 10 minutes before closing to pick up a birthday present. Upon entering, we were greeted with a terse, "You have 10 minutes". From then, every two minutes the associate announced loudly, "Y'all have 8 minutes, 6 minutes, etc..." I get it- we walked in towards closing, but give me a break. I had my 5 year old in tow and all we needed was to pick up a specific gift for a birthday party and get out. The associate in question was a middle-aged lady who should've known better. I'm giving two stars because it's a nice toy store with great selection but this is my 3rd visit this year where not one person greeted us and acted like they were doing me a favor by helping me . There are plenty of people working there so there is always someone available but they never offer to help. We visited this Christmas Eve for last minute stocking stuffers and I had to interrupt staff talking amongst themselves to ask a question, then out of the many people working there none knew of a popular toy I was looking for. I was told that if they had it it would be on back wall ? Really ? Well it wasn't and I found it elsewhere in the store by myself. I always try and support local business as opposed to chains but I'm guess 3 strikes and your out for this business. read more

Purchased a Brio train toy and took it home to find out it was not compatible with the current Brio set we had. It was also much less durable than previous train sets. Packaged right back and returned to the store - WS told could exchange for a store credit. Drove 30 minutes to exchange and was told it was missing a plastic piece (part of packaging) so store credit was no longer an option either. We packaged it up just as we purchased with all cardboard, etc. - I believe this may have been missing when we purchased the item. Warning - if you purchase anything from this store make sure you ask staff to open any items that are not entirely sealed to avoid this situation. Been shopping here for years and will no longer be a regular or recommend to others. read more

I came in super excited to find some new special toys and books for my son, left with a very bad taste in my mouth. There was a particular item in the store that was the only one of its kind and it was on a very high shelf with no sort of signage or tags, it looked like it was not for sale. I asked the store associate verbatim "I'm sorry to bother you, but is that item up there for sale"? instead of answering my question she responds: "it's $145." with a very bitter tone, didn't even have the decency to look in my direction. I felt very disrespected by her tacky and classless response in front of my child. Needless to say, I took my money elsewhere. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but I won't return to find out. I'd never recommend this store to anyone. read more

This is a wonderful toy store. We were visiting from out of town and I decided to take my granddaughter out for a bit. It was raining so we found Toy Mania. Ellie's eyes were so big as she just walked around looking and taking it all in. She picked out a little set of Calico Critters and a lego set for her brother. It was such a joy to be able to see all of our choices in person. And there was a much greater selection than in big box stores. The staff was friendly and helpful. I had to make a quick return visit for a gift yesterday. Well the best time to shop is early in the day - lots of staff during this time. The lady pointed me right to the book I was looking for. She was very friendly and helpful. I thanked her and she told me that's her favorite section she stocks. Great customer service from start to finish!
