Too cluttered with junk wax recently and there are hardly ever any new packs or boxes to buy anymore. I think there were maybe 5 options for buying loose packs...all of which were overpriced. Not sure how a hobby store can get by with such a minimal selection long-term. The new middle section loaded with 90s cards kind of kills a lot of the openness the shop had as well, and it is hard to move around. There seems to be more of an emphasis on singles than in the past. I used to spend $2-3K a year here, and got to know many of the regulars who always came in to buy packs or sealed boxes. The thrill of the chase was what kept us coming back...if we wanted singles, we'd go to eBay and pick them up. Until this changes, I won't be back. I came here once or twice a month before the ownership change, and loved Bob and Linda. It feels less like a family store now, and more like a business. What a shame. read more

I just started collecting again after a 33 year break. There was so much to know & the owner happily answered ALL of my questions. He showed me so much, and seemed genuinely interested in talking about the hobby. The prices for a few boxes of cards was 10% cheaper at this store than online and 20% cheaper than another store I visited in Charlotte. Awesome place for your sport cards. Football, baseball, NBA and some hockey and NASCAR. It's amazing the card selection hat they have here.. old and new. Bob and Linda and their staff are so knowledgeable and friendly. You can spend some time here looking and talking sports . A lot of other customers also can fill up your shopping experience with stories of their own sport favorites. I was only able to stop here a few times when the former owners had it. The gentlemen and his wife was always friendly and outgoing. The folks that own this place now are not very pleasant to deal with. If I find a shop that is enjoyable to visit, I will go out of my way on my travels to stop by. That won't be the case with this place. Just better to avoid folks in the hobby like the new owners. read more

I'd say I started going to AAA collectables when I was 8 or 9 and although I rarely bought anything everyone was always very nice to me and they were all very nice to talk to. I went there primarily for autographs and stuff other than cards. After going there frequently for a good 3 or 4 years I eventually got to the point where I bought all my stuff online and no longer went there because it is out of the way for me and I wasn't in the area that often anymore. A week or so ago I went back to look at some hockey stuff and even after a good 4 or 5 years they remembered me. I'm not sure how because I'm close to 2ft taller now and I look a lot different but they remembered me. I guess thats how much they care about their customers. If you have to wait on getting service because they're talking to another customer I would kinda take that as them getting to know everyone. Now I'm about as new as they come to actually knowing anything about cards but they seemed to have plenty of ones that I would consider good. I'm a big fan of jersey cards and they have a collection of them that really impressed me. I didn't have the money for any high end cards when I went so I don't know if what Janelle said is true or not but I did pick up a tristar hidden treasures futures for the same price as all the online shops. And the pricing on the jagr autographed picture with a very nice display and obviously a COA that I looked at was well more than reasonable. I'm not sure if their inventory is any better than any other card stores in the charlotte area and I probably never will. AAA Collectables has been the go to store for me and I don't want that to change. In my opinion AAA is the definition of customer service. I guess that goes to show you what treating your customers like friends can do! Plus they're DEACS FANS!!! read more

I have been going to AAA Collectibles for over 2 years now. They are my main source for sports memorabilia and cards! Every time I'm there I am pleased with the service I receive. They are more than willing to help you with anything you need from a $1 purchase to a $1000 purchase. This is how every card and sports memorabilia shop should be! Pricing is competitive with other stores as well as online stores. This is a very well run and kept shop. You will find none better in the Charlotte area. read more

I was impressed with this store, especially after seeing some of the negative comments on here. I am planning on moving overseas soon and am trying to get rid of some old baseball cards, but instead of pouncing on me, they gave me a lot of good advice and strategies to use when selling on ebay or otherwise. I definitely did not feel like I was taken advantage of; on the contrary, it seemed like they went out of their way to make sure I was educated on the subject. And yes, I know baseball cards- I may not know the current market that well, but I have been collecting on and off for more than 20 years. read more
