The atmosphere is great and I like how everyone there is willing to help you out not just Thomas and staff, but all the racers too. They are there to have a good time and to grow the hobby. I ended up buying a couple of mini z racers along with parts and accessories while there. The prices are great. It's always best to buy from your local shop to support the hobby. They also race off site for those interested in off road car, truck, and buggy racing, but check in with the shop to verify times and days. They have an assortment of RC cars and trucks, so I recommend stopping by to check it out. A special shout out to Thomas, Raphael, Mathew, Kaleb and Sean for their help, knowledge and RC spirit that day.

Boxes of remote control vehicles ranging from cars to drones are stacked along the walls of the SC2NY RC Shop in Rock Hill. With products ranging from $10 to $1,500, the new remote control hobby shop aims to become a hub for enthusiasts of all ages. SC2NY RC Shop opened in August at 946 Charlotte Avenue, formerly the location of Woody's Music, and is now located at 1647 Cherry Road. The owner, Thomas Nunez, hadn't initially planned on opening a brick and mortar shop. When Nunez established his company in December 2024, he intended to be an exclusively online retailer. But when his supplier told him they wouldn't supply online stores, Nunez rushed to find a physical location. Though his business turned out differently than he expected, support from the community has boosted SC2NY right out of the gate. "We got a lot of people in the door," Nunez said of a recent event. "Man, it was so many people that came out. I had one track at that time... We were just having fun, just whipping around." Nunez is a native of the Bronx in New York City, and the shop's name is a nod to the city he grew up in and the state he now calls home. He said his remote control business is all about fostering community. Situated on Rock Hill's Cherry Road corridor, Nunez imagines the shop as a place for hobbyists to come together...

They have an impressive selection of miniatures, with plenty of options for painters and tabletop gaming fans. The board game selection is also solid, covering everything from lighter family titles to deeper strategy games. A staff member greeted me as soon as I walked in and spent a good amount of time chatting with me about different games and upcoming releases. That kind of genuine engagement goes a long way and really adds to the experience. The one thing I'd love to see in the future is a dedicated board‑game night. All that said, I'm genuinely glad to have this shop within a 20‑minute drive from home. It's a friendly, well‑stocked local store that I'm happy to support and visit again.

I typically don't leave negative reviews, especially for small businesses, but my experience here…read morewas incredibly disappointing. I reached out on Facebook Marketplace and specifically asked if an item could be held until the next day, as I was working. The business assured me they would hold it, but then, out of nowhere, I got a notification that it was sold--despite my confirmed hold request. When I called for clarification, they kept giving me the runaround: first, they were too busy to check, then promised a callback that never came. After multiple attempts, I think they just blocked my number once they realized I was still trying to reach them. Ironically, they were quick to update the listing that the item sold--no issue there. But holding a customer's item as promised? Apparently, that was too much. I won't be doing business here again, and I'd strongly caution others who need reliable service.
