Noble Records is my favorite local record store, hands down. Lots of selection, frequently updated, well-curated, and the friendly staff lets you browse in peace. There's always something interesting playing on their system, which makes the time spent flipping through their stacks even better. They have everything from discount bins to audiophile pressings, all categorized by genre, new vs used, and they seem to actually spend time keeping them well alphabetized. In addition to a great vinyl collection, they have a decent selection of CDs, cassettes, and 45's, as well as some vintage gear and their own shirts, etc. Getting there is the hardest part, the Elevation Church likes to block the parking lot unnecessarily on random weekends, and aren't very considerate of the businesses they share the lot with, but it's worth the hassle. It's my first stop each Saturday AM that I can get over there. You can then thread the needle of the parking lot over to Hardy Boys Records (in the Brass Grasshopper) before heading down to Mad Jack's to complete a trifecta of record store stops in Matthews. read more

I have made a half dozen or more purchases from Noble Records on their Whatknot Shop. This is a fantastic store and the owner Dillon may be the most knowledgeable person on the planet of all things vinyl records. I regularly watch His channel on Youtube, and He has greatly expended my personal music tastes based on his reviews and recommendations. Another fantastic voyage into Noble Records. I'm fortunate that I have the opportunity to travel the world and visit record shops whilst there. This latest visit proves once again why Noble is one of the best shops in the US. I can't express enough the appreciation I have for a man that truly keeps his supply of albums local and forgoes the temptation to sell online. Because of this I always walk out with a stack of fairly priced rare lps. This time it came in the form of two Lynyrd Skynyrd Japanese pressings. Both flawless and amazing! Had unfortunate challenges with an order (see earlier post if you want details) but the great news is that there owner ultimately contacted me as he was unaware of my lost vinyl issue. Clearly an honest mistake due to dinner issues they are having with their online sales. That said, I feel comfortable changing my review to reflect the sincere apology - I'm hoping they get the website issue straightened out but in three meantime I can absolutely recommended this so for in person sales. I was on a business trip from NorCal and stopped by here on Thursday night to check it out. This is a nice, well organized store. I appreciate they are mindful of their stock and don't just keep every record for the sake of having a lot of "inventory" - nothing more aggravating then shuffling through a bunch of junk to find a good record or two. Within 2 minutes of walking through the store something caught my eye - Malo/Malo (Promo version) in the front of a stack in the Jazz (??) section. What??? This is one of my favorite Latin rock albums (I have 4 copies) and I see a copy in NC of all places? I guess the vinyl gods were smiling down on me this night. I took a look and it was in excellent condition. I picked it up for a great price. I also picked up ZZ Top/The Best of ZZ Top (Club Version) also in excellent condition - it looks brand new. Got it at a great price as well. I put both off these through an ultrasonic bath and just played them through - outstanding!!! If you're in the area or out of town and have some free time, this place is worth the stop. I have a few more trips planned out this way so I'll definitely be stopping by again. First met Dillon at a pop-up shop he was having in NoDa and I was overwhelmed with the quality of vinyl he brought to the event in his iconic yellow "Noble Records" van. The brick and mortar store opened in October I think. I've made a couple trips out and have been super pleased each time. Dillon has made the store very customer-centric. Bright interior with a couch, chairs, and a listening station so you can check out your options before you purchase. Thousands of records to choose from spanning all genres and a VERY generous $1 section where I've got some good finds. There is a "Holy Moly Wall" where the real gems are usually displayed for sale. Original pressings, rare bootlegs, you know... the good good. Dillon or Chris a.k.a. Tunes Van Zandt are usually manning the register and are quick to offer help, suggestions, answer questions, or just shoot the breeze about music. Excited to see his business grow and spend more time spinning my wheels to get there and spin some vinyl. read more

Mostly untrue response by owner. I never claimed to visit the store lol. I never demanded him to come to my house. (Complete fabrication) Yes I was out of state. I was never aggressive and in fact went back and forth for quite some time trying to make something happen. It wasn't until I came way down off of asking prices that he would communicate. I wonder if he lets you negotiate his prices in store lol. When trying to break the ice on a $2000 deal owner stuck me with all PayPal fees and shipping costs and played dumb about them so I refunded his PayPal pmt. I asked to do COD and he had never heard of it. That's a red flag to him. Lol. It was always a shipped deal, there was no other way. It wasn't a possibility. This guy lives in fantasyland. He wanted to give me $1000 for Pearl Jam Bennaroyal only. 1 of 2000 in the world. Check prices on that LP set. He reached out and begged me to remove the review and pretended like he was willing to work things out because he had an in store event coming up. I have every text from Dylan to back up what I'm saying. I hope dylan (which isn't a standup guy) finds a better way to deal with customers other than like a used car salesman. read more

This store which once seem promising, has truly lost its foundation values. From treating the people who bring in to sell records so poorly. To getting upset with a shopper if the ask for a discount on a used record. The owner will not tolerate it fact will throw a fit if you do any of these things in his store. If your not out by 7pm to close he will throw you out. The just mumble and complain that people should no better. In this world of financials struggles should customers truly decide to spend their hard earned money in a place that doesn't truly welcome them. The is evidence and testimony out there off all these action directly from the owner himself. He doesn't care about the people who helped him out along the way, but just the money. Please make careful consideration when going to this store. People can seem on way in video and very different in real life. read more

I've been meaning to stop by this place for a while, ever since I heard they had a location after being a pop up shop for a while. It had a really cool vibe and atmosphere. Vintage furniture too (although not for sale, just for aesthetic). It seemed like they had a lot of floor space, but I'm assuming that's because they are still starting up. Good selection! I drive by this shopping center every night before work and noticed this new store. It sells vinyl record albums. I looked around for a short time and saw several familiar music groups like The Eagles and The Police and The Moody Blues. Prices were around $50. They also sell t-shirts. read more

One of the greatest independent record stores I've had the pleasure of frequenting. Dillon is a great guy who created a comfortable community atmosphere. Pretty good record shop. Roomy and clean as a whistle. Records are organized very well and easy to flip through and dig. He has a bargain section of one dollar records and a second section of three dollars records. He also has a new arrivals section as well. I bought four records and wanted a specific t shirt but they were out of sizes. Maybe next time. read more
