That was NOT the case with Repo Records! Their selection is FANTASTIC! I think that their prices were fair for the albums I looked at. Hey - you're going to pay for quality. The used album I bought was rated VG+ and was in perfect (nearly mint) condition. I will definitely be making return trips here. Side note: I loved finding Morrissey and Johnny Marr sharing a tab - right next to The Smiths! This is how I would organize my collection!

It is a cool blast to the past. The Owner Walt is usually there and is great to talk to. They sell vinyl records for as low as $1. Just have to do a little digging. They have all types of music genres and also stand up comedies. They have the oldies and even current music at this Record store. Parking I can see being difficult as this is located in the downtown area but there isn't much going on there on a regular day. Jampac Records also does events from time to time too. Music is playing the entire time you shop, creates a real nice vibe. Staff is very friendly. The items are previously owned/used but in relatively great condition. They also have cassettes, cd's, and even some movies to choose from. It's a small shop in a nice little town, if ever around or if you live near and you love finding new music, I would definitely recommend checking it out.

Birdsnest is actually located right upstairs from the Needlecraft Center on Main Street in Davidson. It seems weird, but you walk into the house and head upstairs to the second floor. The Birdsnest consists of a retail shop and a place to get some music lessons. There is a little room that is cluttered with tons of vinyl records, which is what drew us here in the first place. The prices were pretty good and the quality of the records was great. They also have a small selection of CDs and other music formats, but it's mainly about the records. There are other rooms upstairs that are dedicated to music lessons, both instrumental and vocal. Birdsnest is a pretty cool addition to downtown Davidson and worth checking out if you want some vinyl or want some professional assistance in becoming a rock god.

I recently started following them on Facebook, and love that they post almost daily updates on new vinyl coming into the shop, and will even put a 7 day hold on items they post if you request. Last week was my first time visiting, and although it's not a big shop, they've got it packed, and well organized, offering music sorted out by many different genres, and sub-organized within the genres in alphabetical order. Pricing varies, assuming based on amount of specific items in inventory, rarity, and condition. The staff was friendly, and welcoming, asking if there were specific items I was looking for. Great spot to have in town, but potentially financially dangerous for music lovers out there! Though it was my first time, I'm certain it won't be my last. Give them a like on a Facebook, and stop in to pick up some of your favorites.

With its location on a strip, parking can be a hassle. I found one way in the back of the lot. It was a short walk but it was raining. Inside, it was cozy but an abundance of records with a huge variety. There were records on the wall and in binds.
