Goodwill, Cornelius NC

A quick stop to check out the furniture and see if there's anything that I'd like to use to replace the kitchen chair that just broke. Nothing like that today and I came THIS close to buying a $25 bicycle. In terrific condition and needing nothing to be road ready. Wow! Lots of clothes, very well organized. And enough glass vases to hold a field's worth of roses. They also accept donations here. [Review 12641 overall, 2433 of 2019.]

Thank you for what you do. It is great to have a place to donate gently used clothing. You are appreciated.

The entrance.

This is a very cool Goodwill! They stock the merchandise. The household goods aisle was filled with nice items. Name brand items. It was fun just to checkout the offerings on the shelves. The clothing was abundant as well. I was able to find some name brands that were like-new. They even had a great selection in MY SIZE. That's what happens when you have a large inventory. The parking was not bad. The store looked and smelled clean. Today was my first time here and I can't wait to return.

The new manager is so rude to the customers. He better remember what keeps goodwill in business.

This is by far, the best SA within 60 miles. I'm an avid thrifter and visit many SA's, but none…read morecan beat MY store. The staff is always friendly and most helpful!

This used to be the best thrift store in Cabarrus County. Yes, used to be. It has gone downhill…read moreever since they reopened after C*vid. That's part of the problem too - all new staff due to firing the old staff during C*vid times...ones who had been there for years & were so sweet. The new manager is a guy who frequently complains openly about people shopping in the store, has literally complained about having to check my cart of stuff because I "got too much" and it'd take a while to scan it all in (I had maybe 6 books, a couple of shoes and some small nicknacks - it wasn't a lot). He's also changed sale hours - day of - closing early because he felt like it. He does not make people feel welcome to shop there - it's like we're bothering him to be in the store. Also, the pricing has gotten really bad - it's frequently at or above retail now, which is so sad since this stuff is always clearly used and *given/donated* to the store, but they grossly overprice it. Case in point: A used coffee grinder for $24.99 when it's new for $18.95 on Amazon or $19.98 at Walmart. The clothes have been really stained, hole-filled, torn and ripped lately. I really hate how bad the store is these days... I went in recently and they were selling a side table that was missing two legs, but still had it priced at $39.99. It just makes me so sad since this used to be my favorite thrift store in the area, and it's awful now.

Absolutely not worth your time, especially if you're driving any distance to visit. The store feels…read moremostly like a discount/outlet store that also sells some donated items they receive. They get clearance merchandise that never sold from places like target and Kohl's. They obviously get a lot of junk from Amazon pallets too. The store is massive but a ton of the racks are the same exact 30 pairs of jeans priced at $20 so don't expect an incredible selection just based off the square footage of the building. Beyond that, a LOT of the donated clothing they choose to put out is very heavily worn with very obvious flaws such as massive tears, bleach stains, and fast fashion that is literally falling apart and needs to be in the trash. Yet they'll still put a $10 price tag on a pair of jeans with a huge hole in the crotch. The prices are much higher than other chain thrift stores around it, and the quality is awful. Beyond the actual merchandise, the store is depressing. I used the restroom and there was no toilet paper in ANY stall in both the women's AND men's bathrooms! Not a single one. And no paper towels! How is that possible? The floors are dirty, the people who work there are not friendly, and the donation process is "park outside with your flashers on and hope someone actually comes out to assist you". Do not waste your time.

Overall not too impressed with their items. This was a mix of Ross/Michaels with a thrift shop…read more Strange to see food with used items but good for people who cannot afford much. I probably would check expiration dates. There was a ton of clothes. Unfortunately I was not looking for clothes but looking for pottery and mugs. Their prices were about average but for some of the knickknack stuff it was a hit or miss. Good selection of clothes, ok selection for blankets and not too much household stuff. The employees didn't really take notice of us which I guess isn't bad. It's a thrift shop not a salon.
