Everything could stand to be improved in this store! I've been coming to the Cornelius Goodwill 10 plus years. Use to be managed well, but now the rude regular hoarders, resellers basically have taken over! It's no longer fun and enjoyable. You walk in see the same disrespectful people and you just wanna leave.. just sickening and unpleasant! These hoarders will yell at you,I Ive seen fights, they take items from the carts The employees do nothing!! Once in a while I try to give this place a chance, really good stuff here.but you put up with crazy people and the staff/management do nothing. Really sad for people who really could use good stuff but you only have a good chance at getting anything here if you walk in and the hoarders are not around!! No kidding! If you want a great experience with no aggravation shopping, don't go there find another Goodwill!!! read more

BEWARE OF THIS STORE. BEWARE OF RESELLERS! DONT GO HERE! STAFF IS RUDE! I had an item taken from me by a reseller while in line to pay and the employees did nothing and sided with the frequent flyer reseller. Come to find out the manager on duty gave me a false name was very dismissive and hung up on me. I contacted the regional manager Jim Denyes MULTIPLE TIMES to ask for a statement on the matter and asked questions about posted signage etc regarding the incident and he refuses to provide any answers. read more

Strange place. If you're looking for a store--you know, a business that sells products to consumers--you won't find it here. This is more of a chaotic social experiment or networking event disguised as a thrift shop. First, you have the regulars: people who treat this place like a full-time job, networking with employees to get first dibs on the good stuff. If you're not on the inside, you're out of luck--enjoy your trash! Then there are the guys who hang out all day, more interested in picking up women than picking up secondhand clothes. Even pregnant women and moms just looking for a quick browse aren't safe, stuck trying to politely escape conversations they never signed up for. I've overheard workers tipping off regulars about when new bins roll out, what's in the back, and even holding items for them. Some get things from behind the case at heavily discounted rates. Then there's the pricing scam--items marked way above eBay prices, likely part of a scheme where workers and customers wait for the three-day markdown. I've even seen price tags suspiciously changed to extend the waiting period. Some employees shop off the clock like normal people. Others use that time to throw tantrums at customers. So, if you're looking for a peaceful place to shop like a normal person at a store, this is not it. Bring your A-game in networking, flirting, scheming, or tantrum-throwing, and maybe--just maybe--you'll make it into the inner circle. To be fair, this only applies to a few employees and 10% of the customers. That 10% of those customers are unfortunately there 100% of the time, calling Goodwill their second home, probably because their real home is a hoarder's dream based on their carts piled sky high every day. I was tempted to give only 4 stars because the place was so crowded, but that's an indication of a great thrift store, so 5 stars it is. Large and extremely well-organized. Clothing was color sorted within each clothing category. Non-clothing items were well-displayed and easy to browse. Prices were the best I have ever seen in a Goodwill anywhere near where I live (Western New York). I found a couple of "exactly-what-I-was-looking-for" items. And several good books. Next time I visit family in Huntersville, a trip to this Goodwill is already on my to-do list. read more

A quick stop to check out the furniture and see if there's anything that I'd like to use to replace the kitchen chair that just broke. Nothing like that today and I came THIS close to buying a $25 bicycle. In terrific condition and needing nothing to be road ready. Wow! Lots of clothes, very well organized. My son's love this place. Great place to get a slightly used item at a great discount. Over the years, I have donated a goodly number of slightly used goods to this store but have never bought anything from them. Not to say that I have not accompanied my sons and their spouses and significant others in what would be considered in the animal world, a shark feeding frenzy. A good portion of the good offered at this store come from nearby neighborhoods which are somewhat more affluent than other parts of the County. That said, they do attempt to even it out by taking donations and sending them to other Goodwill Stores throughout the County. Well organized and very courteous, if you're into used goods or consignments, this may be your place. read more

This is a very cool Goodwill! They stock the merchandise. The household goods aisle was filled with nice items. Name brand items. It was fun just to checkout the offerings on the shelves. The clothing was abundant as well. I was able to find some name brands that were like-new. They even had a great selection in MY SIZE. That's what happens when you have a large inventory. The parking was not bad. The store looked and smelled clean. Today was my first time here and I can't wait to return. read more

Do you know "Nancy?" I don't know if that's her real name. In fact, it's a shot in the dark. Even if I did know her real name, I wouldn't share it for my own protection. Nancy doesn't work at Goodwill; she's a customer. She seems to be there whenever I'm there. And she's always pushing a shopping cart. This is because she's own the prowl (for items, not small men that would fit into the shopping cart). There is nothing wrong with this, but you best not be in her way! If you're in her way, she's going to push the shopping cart to within one inch of your waist and stop, then glare at you with her head tilted (been there). Jeez, lady. Sorry if I wanted to look at CDs from 1992. If you opt for fight during a fight-or-flight response, then I wish you the best of luck. Nancy will mess you up! As far as the store goes, it's clean, organized, always full of items, and the employees work very hard. It's also in a good location (between I-77 and Jetton Park with plenty of restaurants to choose from). There's nothing like pizza, a walk in the park, and Goodwill. Or maybe I'm just not living enough. As long as you don't run into "Nancy," you should enjoy your Goodwill shopping experience in Cornelius. read more

** This review is only for the drop off service. Easy in & easy out...drive through drop off service is the way to go. Every time I drop off items here, there's someone (or multiple people) waiting to assist me. They're very friendly, too. I like that they always ask, "do you need a receipt?", because nine times out of 10, I do. For those that do want to shop, there's plenty of parking available. read more

Every time I come to this Goodwill I have a great time finding things, as everything is organized my color and type and it's so well done and organized in here!! Although the store was closing and there were still people in the store, the workers weren't hostile or angry that they had to keep working like I've seen at some establishments. They were happy to check out everyone and were very polite in doing so, even if we were there after closing time. It's always been a great experience here, I love it!! read more

99.9% of my clothes and home furnishings are thrifted. This location has higher prices than any other thrift store in the region (and Ive been to just about all of them!). I was looking at a stetson behind the glass. It was $14.99. I decided to buy it. While paying at the cash wrap, I noticed a Stetson box behind the counter on the floor. I asked if I could have the box. Turns out it was another stetson in the box. The price? SEVENTY-FIVE AMERICAN DOLLARS!! WTF!?? The cashier said "yeah, we look items up online and this hat sells for a couple hundred" Sooo, thats how they roll now? a non-profit 501c3 organization thats actually FOR-PROFIT!! Hmmmm. read more

Nicest Goodwill I have EVER been in. Felt like a TJ Maxx, Marshall's. Was in town from Columbus Ohio. Enjoyed shopping here. Negatives, were some of the racks were a bit too packed. Unstoppable. Found a lot, but only walked with 2 great items - a sueded mini skirt, faux suede midi skirt, and a few DVDs. I would suggest shopping here. Prices were a bit high. Goodwill has raised their prices, which I've never been a fan of. Was not a fan that they were selling food - like lingerie, you don't shop at thrift stores for food. read more

I was passing through Charlotte on a road trip and this Goodwill is conveniently located about a mile from I77. I was looking for clothing and didn't really look at anything else. Everything is organized by color, not size, which looks nice but is annoying. Prices are somewhere in the middle, as far as Goodwills go, cheaper than my local one. This is an affluent area so I was expecting them to be higher. They have senior sale days, 55 and older, once a week where you get 25% off. The store was clean and well lit. The racks were full, but there was room to look. Isles were a bit narrow, but manageable. While there, two guys brought out a big bin of shoes. No one was permitted to shop the shoes until they put the new ones out. It was like a feeding frenzy of sharks on a crowded beach when they allowed us to get at them. One man grabbed up every pair of sneakers they put out, except a fun pair of animal print Converse I quickly grabbed near me. I guess, Mr. Sneaker Grabber wasn't interested in sissy sneakers. It was a busy Sunday so there was a bit of a check out line but the wait wasn't bad. Employees were nice when asked questions and interacting with customers. I would like to visit this location often, since I think there are treasures to be found here. read more

The store looks visually appealing. Everything is sorted according to color! But!... try finding your size when you have to look through EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF CLOTHING! There's also very low inventory. Whitsett Goodwill is the place to go! Everything is sorted by size. You'd think this management would get the notion that they can sell more when clothing is sorted by size. Color doesn't matter if it doesn't fit! Super organized for a Goodwill most of the time. I find scores from time to time but there is a lot of the usual basic brands. Sometimes you can find cool or vintage housewares if you look hard enough. I only wish they ran tag sales! read more

I enjoy shopping at Goodwill and this is one of the nicer ones in the area. If you're a label shopper, this Goodwill gets some pretty nice brands of clothes. The store is well organized with plenty of household goods, books and clothes to choose from. I've gotten a few items there that were brand new and in the original package or with the original tags at a fraction of the cost. If I lived closer I'd check every few days, but for now I go about once a month. read more

I have been in the store to shop numerous times and usually, because of the bad behavior of an aggressive, brash, female customer (early 60's w/brownish dark short hair) I have yet to be satisfied with my shopping experiences. This lady is referred to as Nancy or 'the vulture lady'. She is a shopping bully and can be very rude to other customers. She will literally ram you with her cart if you are in her way when items are being brought out from the back room by employees, in the Goodwill carts. She is always busily eying items in the carts on the way to the salesfloor and will stop at nothing in order to obtain them for her own purchase. I noticed the other day she was loading her blueish Subaru with her stash and the car was already packed to the car's roof with items. The staff know her by name and I noticed that the cashiers are extremely friendly and chatty with her. I have complained about her aggressive and rude behavior to staff, but they just brush it off. I will snap a photograph of her to share unless someone else posts one before I do. read more

I consider myself a thrifting expert Ive been to so many goodwills. This location has a really convenient drop off point in the front so you can donate something easily before you shop. The store is nice and wide open with all of the walls with shelves and items higher with only clothing racks in the rest of the store so it feels roomy and comfortable. Smaller housewares section, shoes are nicely arranged to see easily, only one disappointment and it's a major one to me and where I shop. The bathroom is filthy. It doesn't look like it's been cleaned since new, and it's really a shame because the tiles and walls look like really nice quality. It would be such a nice place to shop if the bathrooms were not so filthy. Its shameful to have something so nice and not take care of it. This turned me off from shopping here regularly. read more
