Noble Records is my favorite local record store, hands down. Lots of selection, frequently updated,…read morewell-curated, and the friendly staff lets you browse in peace. There's always something interesting playing on their system, which makes the time spent flipping through their stacks even better. They have everything from discount bins to audiophile pressings, all categorized by genre, new vs used, and they seem to actually spend time keeping them well alphabetized. In addition to a great vinyl collection, they have a decent selection of CDs, cassettes, and 45's, as well as some vintage gear and their own shirts, etc. Getting there is the hardest part, the Elevation Church likes to block the parking lot unnecessarily on random weekends, and aren't very considerate of the businesses they share the lot with, but it's worth the hassle. It's my first stop each Saturday AM that I can get over there. You can then thread the needle of the parking lot over to Hardy Boys Records (in the Brass Grasshopper) before heading down to Mad Jack's to complete a trifecta of record store stops in Matthews.

I regularly watch His channel on Youtube, and He has greatly expended my personal music tastes based on his reviews and recommendations. This is an absolutely lovely little record store. It is larger inside than it looks, very clean,…read moreand the man and woman working here were super nice and helpful. They sell vinyl record albums, CDs, and cassettes. They have every genre you can possibly imagine. The prices were very good, reasonable and fair. We ended up buying a CD I have been looking for, a vinyl picture disc for my husband, and a brand new album (vinyl) that had been released about a year ago. My husband even found an album in perfect condition that he had been wanting in the one dollar bin. This was a bit of a drive from where we live, but it was beautiful scenery and it was totally worth driving here. I highly recommend if you are looking for music. Tip: parking can be found on the side of the little strip mall they are located in OR you can drive all the way around to the back and enter in the store at the rear. Just be careful and avoid the potholes.

It's a small shop right on the street, so you have to be on the lookout, otherwise you could miss it. I got there right around the time they opened and was greeted by Ronnie and Beth. Immediately when you walk in, they've got two units of $1 records with a lot of good stuff to browse through. The overall selection is not as vast as other stores in the Charlotte area, but still stocked with quality vinyl. The music in the store changes every few minutes, and that's because they clean all of their records (except the $1 choices) and test them before pricing them and putting them out for sale. If you're looking for a shop that may have some reasonably priced gems that haven't been picked through, definitely check these guys out!

The book prices are particularly good and make it easy to take a chance on an unfamiliar author or genre. The café serves very good coffee. On this visit I had a cortado, which was strong, smooth and well made. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive without being intrusive. What I like most is the atmosphere. During my visit I saw families browsing books while enjoying a drink, friends meeting for coffee and people having informal meetings. It feels like a place where you can spend time rather than simply stop by. The balcony seating looked especially appealing for reading or quiet study, with a good view over the café below. A place with plenty of character, and one I will be returning to again.
