It was a pleasure doing business (selling a treasured collection of LPs) with this father and sons business. I highly recommend them!

Noble Records is my favorite local record store, hands down. Lots of selection, frequently updated,…read morewell-curated, and the friendly staff lets you browse in peace. There's always something interesting playing on their system, which makes the time spent flipping through their stacks even better. They have everything from discount bins to audiophile pressings, all categorized by genre, new vs used, and they seem to actually spend time keeping them well alphabetized. In addition to a great vinyl collection, they have a decent selection of CDs, cassettes, and 45's, as well as some vintage gear and their own shirts, etc. Getting there is the hardest part, the Elevation Church likes to block the parking lot unnecessarily on random weekends, and aren't very considerate of the businesses they share the lot with, but it's worth the hassle. It's my first stop each Saturday AM that I can get over there. You can then thread the needle of the parking lot over to Hardy Boys Records (in the Brass Grasshopper) before heading down to Mad Jack's to complete a trifecta of record store stops in Matthews.

I have made a half dozen or more purchases from Noble Records on their Whatknot Shop. I regularly watch His channel on Youtube, and He has greatly expended my personal music tastes based on his reviews and recommendations. I highly endorse and encourage anyone to not hesitate to become a customer! A+++++++

The other half of the large space is a Habitat for Humanity re-store with tons of furniture, Knick-knacks, lights and pretty much everything else you can think of! This is an excellent combination of café, bookstore and thrift/furniture store. The book prices are particularly good and make it easy to take a chance on an unfamiliar author or genre. The café serves very good coffee. On this visit I had a cortado, which was strong, smooth and well made. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive without being intrusive. What I like most is the atmosphere. During my visit I saw families browsing books while enjoying a drink, friends meeting for coffee and people having informal meetings. It feels like a place where you can spend time rather than simply stop by. The balcony seating looked especially appealing for reading or quiet study, with a good view over the café below. A place with plenty of character, and one I will be returning to again.

They have an abundance of scented oils, shea butter, soaps, music, clothes, incense and gift ideas. The owner is very friendly and takes great pride in her business. Seeing that this is a business, you know she is definitely doing her thing and trying to represent at the same time. I honestly didn't look at many prices.. love Bob Marley, but I'm not going to buy a bath towel or blanket with his face on it. There are some cool products like raw shea butter which I use.. did buy some, wanted to get more but it was really expensive.. that's because I'm from Philly and it's mad cheap there, but you know I recognize this is Charlotte and haven't seen that many holistic, local health or African shops. There is an unaffiliated Jamaican shop next door, really wanted some sour sop juice but they didn't have any. Anyways, I like to support local, small businesses. I would return to check out their essential oils, black soap and get more raw shea when I run out. Also would check out getting some flags and tickets to reggae events.
