There are amazing staff there. The selection of items is awesome and so are the prices. I love Ollie's.

Nice people, good bargains. Get there early. Or you will miss out. And they do not do rainchecks.

Decided to stop into this store as I have never been to an Ollie's. This js located in a shopping center, so they have a big open parking lot with plenty or parking spots to choose from. Went inside, and it's super big and open space. They have a huge section of books for all ages and genres. They have a variety of things, including cleaning products, febreeze items, snacks, coffees, patio furniture, and normal home goods. I was impressed with some of their prices. I ended up finding a pair of "cat and jack" shorts for kids for only $.50, which I thought was a huge SCORE! There are some items including home goods which are a bit cheaper but I did feel like a lot of the items such as shampoo, coffee and electronics are around the same price you can find at a family dollar or even Walmart. Overall, it's a good store you should check out. I feel like this is a great alternative for some things if you don't want to go into a Walmart or Target and just walk in to get something super quick. read more

I love all the merchandise they have. I wish we had an Ollie's in Charlotte. This store is quite different from all the rest believe me. You have to stop by in person to really appreciate it...believe me you will be hooked. read more

Ollie's Cheap This place was a mess! My sister invited me and had rave reviews. I was less than impressed, but slowly began to understand the hype. I needed curtains. So, to my surprise the curtains were far below other store's prices. I actually found some that were priced $1.99 yes, $1.99! So, being a savvy consumer I picked up four. At the register, I was accused of changing prices. After a brief discussion with the cashier and the manager. He march to the back. The manager was unprofessional, lied saying that "they were all marked $9.99". I then agreed to go with him to observe the curtains! Right there in front of his face were 10 or more curtains priced $1.99. He tried to pull the race card. Unfortunately, I am black as well, then he pulled the class card ( being a blue collar worker) well I'm a blue collar worker as well ( a teacher). He said he needed to "launch and investigation. On who? For what? He refused to sell me the item even after I pulled up the Attorney General's ruling on deceptive marketing. He then removed all of the curtains and marched off. They are the worst. I have shopped the Ollie's Bargain Outlet in Concord a few times, because the Hyundai dealer is very close and while they work on my car, I walk over to Ollie's to look for good deals. Recently I did just that and (as I have done before) I asked that they leave my basket at the front of the store where they can keep an eye on it until I can come back with my car to pick up the heavy books and toys I found for Christmas gifts. When I returned my basket was nowhere to be found! I didn't even have time to get upset, really, because the manager, Amy, told me not to worry that they would replace every item for me. John was the kind employee who started that process of taking my list (which they found in their system) of what I had purchased and with my help, we found every item. The process took over an hour, but they were so kind. In talking with Amy, the manager, she told me how she loved working at this store. Honestly that is also really good to hear, because I know many bargain type stores do not treat their employees well, but she said Ollie's is a great place to work! I'm going to feel even better about spending my money here now knowing that! Thank you, Ollie's!!! read more

I enjoy going to Ollie's. I usually always find something random that I actually will use or need without breaking the bank. They aren't typically crowded. Generally it is pretty organized by sections and it isn't too hard to pinpoint a certain good you may be searching for at the time. read more

I was in the store on Sunday 3/19 and getting ready to check out as my Cashiers register suddenly went down she hesitated to call her Manager as she stated that she had been having issues with her register all day. She called and told him that her register was down he told her right with me standing there I'm not Tech reboot your register as she tried several times to reboot her register it would not do anything. She again called him to tell him that her register was black and nothing she did would work he screamed at her to go to another register as he could do nothing this poor girl was so embarrassed and humiliated l felt so sorry for her as she kept apologizing. I think this was so unprofessional and uncalled for!!!! He could have at least come upfront and pretended to care!!! I Love Ollie's and shop there often but witnessing this struck a nerve.!!! read more

For a seconds store, it's well stocked and the employees are very helpful since I wanted the only heavy, white clay pot that was on the very very top of the display of many many many pots. Well, we'll see how my new pots will last this winter. They were inexpensive, I thought. Ollie's also has those shovels with a wide step to push into the ground comfortably. The best thing about this Ollie's is that it's rt across of Costco, very convenient. read more

Went to Ollie's on 9/2/2020 and first had to deal with a person that left her dog in a hot car while the outside air temp was 92 degrees. The people at the registers refused to announce on the intercom the license plate of the offending person. The police and dog control were called to handle the matter before the dog died in the car. Then I went back in to try to purchase an advertised item that went on sale the same day. They said they did not have the item. They should not advertise if they do not have said item!!!!! read more

Had an awesome experience today at Ollies and wanted to share it. I shop Ollies about every 3 months. I love all the cool bargains you can find. Today I had a whole cart of bargains and went to check out. I was purchasing a bottle of dish detergent and the bottom of the bottle had a crack in it and soap got over several things I was buying. The cashier Starr apologized and said she would give me 25% off my entire order. I was shocked since clearly it was not the stores fault. It was my fault. Starr took a bad situation and made it GREAT! I walked out of Ollies feeling like the Queen of the world. Thanks Ollies! I will continue being a faithful shopper. read more

Rarely do I ever make my way in to Ollie's but today, I did. It's like a treasure hunt to me. I have to do a shout-out for the employees that were there today, but unfortunately, I don't know their names. The first gentleman that I came in contact with was super helpful. He had a beard and was stocking shelves in the spice area. The 2'nd person, (I later found out that she was a manager) was equally as awesome. You just have to walk through Ollie's to see what you might want to purchase. I often find great bargains that make me smile! Then there are some occasions where I don't purchase anything. I have to just visit every now and then to find surprises. They have just about everything and things you might find elsewhere but not for the low price you'll pay at Ollie's. It can be overwhelming so be sure to visit when you are well rested and fed. read more

There's a plenty of good stuff and some are brand names. Everything here is very affordable. And I always find good bargains. But you need to buy while in stocks. It may looks messy bit it's okay, as long as it's cheap. From snacks, clothes, fishing, housewares,books,etc.. just make sure pay attention to food expiration dates. read more

It seems that the market is crowded these days for bargain outlets. Big Lots, Roses, and the like evoke a lukewarm-to-contemptuous response from their shoppers, but this bargain outlet lives up to the name. Ollie's is unique in bargain outlet world in that their employees are friendly. One of the managers knows my name after visiting half a dozen times. The staff actually say hello to you....don't know how long this will last. But oh well. And values? If you like books (and I'm a librarian) this is your spot. They have the "Dummies" books for $7. So you could learn about green computing or cats or Christian prayer, its up to you. They have a great selection of Bibles and Christian living, plus last year's bestsellers for $3-$5. The food products are similar to what Big Lots sells-cheap coffee, canned goods, jellies, and other non-perishables. The draw to this store is the variety of name-brand items. The kitchen appliances are worth taking a look at (I got a Hamilton Beach juicer for $20) and they have Paula Deen cookware. Ollie's has a nice selection of flooring, carpet, sporting good, and house decoration. Even if you're not a bargain freak like me, check it out when you are shopping/stopping in Matthews. This was my first time visiting an Ollie's Bargain Outlet, and I honestly didn't even want to go inside. I didn't know what to expect. When I first walked in, I noticed the large amount of books they had directly near the front door. Not only did they have a large selection, but the prices were so amazing. Everything in this store is very affordable. I may end up shopping here more often if I am ever in the area. read more

I love this store! I could wander around and find great deals for hours and frequently do, but I particularly want to compliment the manager who helped me out with a factory refurbished toaster oven that turned out to have a ghost in the works...lol. After heating a bun in it one day, I turned the toaster oven off and started assembling an array of ingredients for the cheeseburger that was going to be stuffed into the bun when I noticed out of the corner of my eye a red light flashed --- the toaster had turned itself back on. I repeated my actions...it turned back on again. Clearly it was not 'refurbished' enough. I unplugged it, bagged it (having recycled the box) called the manager at Ollie's the next week and explained the problem. He immediately said 'Just bring it back, we'll take care of it, no problem." I then contracted a bizarre summer flu that put me down for several weeks, and forgot about the toaster return. When I was better, it dawned on me that I was far beyond the return period...but when I called the manager and explained, "Don't worry about it.Just come in when you can." Cash refund, no problem. In today's retail world of "Sorry, we can't..." customer service is heard too often. I was very grateful and very impressed. Ollie's in Matthews has the 'Find ways to say yes' attitude to help their customers that will keep me a loyal customer forever. The store is pretty interesting. My husband took me there a while ago. You can find anything and everything in here. Prices are OK. Somethings you can get cheaper somewhere else. But what I really do like from the store are the rugs and the carpet squares. read more

Store is physically filthy and getting worse all the time....check out the unswept (not to mention unmopped) floors, the gum stuck there, the dust bunnies, etc. I expect them to eventually go the way of that other neglected chain of stores, K Mart..... read more

Hit and miss, but sometime the 'hit' is great! Yesterday's visit was well worth the trip. Did my Christmas shopping all in one place. My suggestion would be not to be looking for a specific thing.....just browse the isles and look. Purchased some great toys, a few things for the dogs and a great book. read more
