In my townhome they don't bless the walk in closets as much so I see why people get this done after their home is built immediately. The communication from the staff is top tier and the contractors who came in to do the work were so nice and friendly and this job took close to 4hours. I was estimated 5-6hrs to complete the project so they were quicker which was awesome, I am more than happy about the results and can't wait for the next project! Thank you Mike, Katherine and the team for walking me through the process and providing the best experience.

Mike has…read moredesigned closets for my master bedroom, my kids' rooms, and utility/storage areas, and I am now calling him again for another project. At one point, I tried a more expensive "high-end" closet company because a friend highly recommended them. That other company cost more, the design was not as space-maximizing as Mike's, (they insisted on putting trim over empty spaces where Mike would have allowed me to store things) and the installation quality wasn't even as good!. Mike's designs are intelligent and efficient, and he maximizes every inch of storage space from floor to ceiling. Every closet he created for me has been highly functional and has worked beautifully over the long term. I'm so appreciative of Closet Stretchers!

In late 2022 and early 2023 we hired IKB for a major renovation of our master bathroom that…read moreinvolved removing and rebuilding the floor and walls, expanding the shower stall, moving and redoing all plumbing and electric. The short of it is, they did an outstanding job, were a pleasure to work with through both the design and construction phases, and we are completely satisfied with their work. The work was completed almost to the day they'd initially estimated, and there were no cost overruns or disputes. We researched a handful of other contractors and IKB was the most reasonably priced. We first learned of them through neighbors who had used and recommended them. Here are some additional observations for those who want more details: Through the design phase, they offered a variety of options, and their CAD images provided a helpful visual sense of the these considerations. While they came with ideas, they were also very receptive to our design inputs and readily incorporated them into the final design. Their proposed fee was the most reasonable we received from the handful of other contractors from which we got bids. They were very good at problem solving to achieve desired outcomes. Everyone of their team was professional and pleasant to deal with. The quality of their work was top notch. And because it is such a visible aspect of a bathroom, I'll mention their tiling craftsman's work is outstanding. We wanted to incorporate some bold color tiles. That expert was able to make helpful suggestions for how to arrange those for very nice results, and his execution and grout work are just beautiful. Prior to this bathroom renovation, we'd used IKB to build an externally-exhausting duct for our kitchen stove and also install the exhaust fan. They did this work quickly, affordably, and the result is great. They will be our first choice for any future remodeling jobs.

John's expertise was invaluable, and he was patient, thoughtful, and creative in answering all of my questions and making sure everything was right. The job was pretty small but we were thrilled with John's communication, precise and accurate work, his care for the job, and of course the final product! We had reached out to a bunch of people and struggled to find both willing and affordable quotes. John was friendly from the start and within our budget. He went above and beyond after the stain we had ordered from the cabinet company turned out to be incorrect and he was able to very accurately match the existing stain from a sample piece of trim we had given him. We'd recommend John and Avanti for your next cabinetry project - I know that's who we'll be contacting for ours : )

On two separate occasions, I was given a four-hour service window and received messages during that window indicating that a technician was on the way. However, no technician arrived. When I called for an update, I was informed that the appointment had been moved to the following day. This happened twice, without any advance notice before I reached out. I understand that delays and scheduling changes can occur, but it's disappointing to set aside several hours waiting for a service call only to learn afterward that the appointment has been rescheduled. Better communication and more accurate scheduling would greatly improve the customer experience.

Because we were happy with the earlier projects, we recently used Gilday to renovate our kitchen and laundry room. Based on this most recent experience, I would not recommend Gilday. What should have been a 5 - 6 month project following demolition of the old kitchen and laundry room turned into a 14-month project, with lengthy delays where nothing got done. So many things went wrong with the project that they are too numerous to cite, but they include (i) multiple mistakes and defects in construction of the cabinets by the manufacturer (Greenfield) that Gilday recommended as the top of the lines it offered, which took months to resolve and some of which required multiple replacement pieces, (ii) lighting issues -- both under-cabinet lighting that created large areas of dark shadow and recessed ceiling lighting where the cans repeatedly went bad -- that Gilday did not know how to fix (we ultimately figured out how to address the issues based on extensive research on our part), (iii) caulking and painting that had to be redone multiple times (and we ultimately gave up trying to fix the different kinds of gloss on the sides of the refrigerator cabinet since it was done wrong twice), and (iv) frequent long delays in Gilday's response to emails and scheduling of work. The best work on the project was done by the two carpenters, both the one who initially worked on the project before leaving the company and the one who replaced him, but they usually worked with no helpers, which contributed to the very slow pace of the project. Notwithstanding all the many problems that plagued the project, we are pleased with how the kitchen and the laundry room look (and hope the workmanship will stand the test of time). But getting to this point was very painful, and we will not use Gilday again.

I used KBR to renovate our master bath 8 years ago. I hired them after doing research on multiple…read morecompanies and getting several quotes. I recall having a very easy time working with the project manager (Armagan), but I don't recall him being on site to do much supervision. I basically trusted the crew to do the job correctly. One of the things they did was build a custom shower for us. Right after they finished we had issues with it - specifically, the floor wasn't graded properly so water would sit on the sides. They regraded it and it was slightly better. Then within the year's warranty, they had to come back and redo some of the flooring because water was getting behind the tile and causing it to crack. After that, there weren't any obvious problems, but on occasion when there were some cracks in the grout, water would leak down to the first floor. We dealt with it by caulking and trying not spray water in one direction, but we were afraid there was just constant moisture in the floors that was creating mildew. A few months ago I touched the ceiling and my finger poked right through b/c the drywall had disintegrated. Fast forward to last week - water leaked through the ceiling again, and we had the ceilings opened to see what was happening and now we're in the midst of a major shower rebuild. Apparently they completely did the shower incorrectly. Parts of the shower did not have any Durock (apparently, there is supposed to be a layer of Durock on top of the wood followed by a rubber lining over the surfaces before you lay tile). There are portions of the shower that only had dry wall, or nothing but the wood. Also, where they did have Durock and rubber, apparently it was the wrong order (the rubber was on the wood, with the Durock on top). Also, they painted the ceiling with regular ceiling paint rather than bathroom paint, so it was peeling horribly. So we have to get that redone also. We also suspect they did some of the pipes incorrectly. The bathroom smells like sulphur at random times, and a plumber once told us they were supposed to build a pipe that releases that gas and didn't (hope it's not causing any major damage because we have no idea how to fix that problem without ripping up all the floors). It's so dispiriting to find this out years after a major remodel and all the money spent, only to now spend additional money just to fix a bad job. :(
