Run by a great family, this kitchen supply leans into the specificity of everything you could need in a kitchen. Not only supplying distinct tools, but that tool in all shapes, sizes, materials and so on to fit your culinary needs. A visit here would affordably stock any industrial kitchen or innovate a home kitchen up a culinary step. If you take cooking more seriously invest in these culinary grade pieces they have in their inventory and support small businesses! I love this place. You can find stuff in varying qualities depending on the depth of your wallet. I splurged on a nice frying pan and have been shocked by the quality. They also have enough tongs to play endless games of "Operation." Pots, pans, salt shakers, chop sticks, you name it. You need it in your kitchen, they have it. Have you ever wondered where to get those maple syrup/honey dispensers from restaurants? Or wanted a giant stock pot and not break the bank? Or just wanted a wok the size of a tractor tire? Best (Supply) Equipment Corp is the answer to all of your problems! While it's no Sur La Table, you will find virtually everything you could need to supply a restaurant here. Wall to wall of semi-organized kitchen stuff! Cutting boards (so many colors! and in rubber too), half an isle of knives(they have roast knives!), warming trays, cleaning supplies, frying baskets, plates, bowls, ladles and tasting spoons, cakeware, plastic pitchers, platters, pots and pans of all sizes...you get the point. Also, if you need some cheap cutlery, this is the place for you (they sell forks by the dozen...at like $3/dozen). Since I'm no expert at kitchen supply stores, I'll just tell you what I got for around $40. -Two 9.5" x 13" aluminum sheet pans -One 13" x 18" aluminum sheet pan -pan grate for the large sheet pan -12" thin rolling pin -medium sized 3 part bamboo steamer basket -bamboo skewers -cocktail skewers -fish spatula -sink drain -jigger -rice paddle/spoon They could carry some higher quality stuff (I opted to not go for the mixing bowls because of this issue) or more electronics, but this is such a treasure if you need some basics (or not so basics) on the cheap and don't need to have color choices or your hand held in a warehouse (the place is stacked sky high with all of this chaos). This would also be a fabulous place to pick up some things for party hosting or catering. Also, I give them props for having all of my Asian cookware needs (bamboo baskets, woks, wok spatulas, steamer collanders, and soy sauce dispensers). Their store hours are 8-3:30 Monday to Friday, so put a furlough day to good use. I've been meaning to explore this place for years, so I'm glad I finally made it out here. This is a shoppers paradise if you are looking for generic kitchen tools and serving ware. Don't expect the upmarket selection from a la Crate and Barrel or Williams-Sonoma. but if you are looking for tools that you will really use in your kitchen at a reasonable price, then Best Equipment Corp should be on your shopping agenda. I have been in the market for storage baskets for all my drinkware - drink glasses, wine glasses, beer mugs, etc. and have always wanted the carriers that I see at restaurants. So I finally made my way to Best Equipment Corp and was glad I did. After walking around the overstocked aisles, I reached out for some assistance and was helped by an employee right away. He spent the next half hour with me showing me all the different Cambro Closed systems and we found all the sizes I was looking for! Service was top notch where he gave me his undivided assistance and was with me until I found what I was looking for. We went thru the entire store - all 3 floors of it - to find the matching carriers for all my types of cups and glasses. They do accept MC and Visa and prices are reasonable when compared to internet suppliers. read more

Located between the Noma-Gallaudet Metro and Union Market, this is a great place to check out when stocking up for your kitchen. While they offer many restaurant grade items, I think a lot can be used for your own home. There are kitchen cleaning supplies, plates, bowls, utenstils, woks, cups (glass, plastic), cutting boards, salt and pepper shakers, condiment containers, etc. and I think they are all reasonably priced. There are aisles of stuff and employees who are friendly and helpful. When I came with two friends this past Sunday, a couple of curious customers popped in while a few others were checking out. I plan on coming back once I have unpacked and figured out what I'm missing. I might even come back with my parents this weekend to see whether they can find a good wok (which has been elusive) and individual but large soup bowls (another elusive item). read more

Great place to pick up stuff for cheap for your restaurant or home kitchen. Location is a little tucked away and nondescript around union market but well worth the trip. They have so so so much stuff and it's almost all very cheap. I got a butt load of stuff for $60 and I'm very satisfied with my trip. They don't necessarily have all the most premium stuff like high quality wood cutting boards but if you can think of something they probably have it in mounds. You can really get lost here just looking at all the stuff they have that you want but definitely won't need. The hours are inconvenient and not everything is well labeled with prices but it's definitely worth a trip to dig around and get a little lost in all the wares. read more

The area is a bit sketchy (as expected in warehouse areas) but the multiple nearby construction projects make the minimal parking a joke. Come with someone who can search for parking while you start shopping, then they can fetch the car and bring it around for a mad-dash double parking moment while you load things in. read more

I love this place. If their hours fit my schedule better, I'd be here every week. I first came here when my fiance announced that he wanted us to host a brunch with cocktails for 20 people. We needed 60 cocktail glasses and were not about to pay Crate & Barrel prices. This place has a HUGE display wall with more sizes and types of glasses than I realized existed. A very friendly guy who works here was patient and waited while I agonized over what sizes/shapes to get, and then he was great about bringing them up front for me. The rest of the place is packed and full of awesome. Cooks will find a ton of things they didn't realize they needed and the people who work the cash registers are incredibly friendly, which doesn't always happen at restaurant supply stores. As advertised, it's a kitchen supply. I went for a cast iron pan, 10'. At my local Mega-Lo-mart it would have been 25, I got it for 17. Now I just need to season it. Don't be afraid to stop into this old warehouse - the storefront is just the tip of the iceberg. Inside, you'll find knife covers, spoons and scoops of all sizes, candle holders and all types of serving and prep items stocked floor to ceiling. The only thing I could not locate was the little French-style egg cups I was on a quest for, but, I did not ask. I probably just overlooked. This is the only restaurant supply store that I know of that allows us regular folk to shop there without a tax ID number. If you have ever been to one, this is a pretty standard one. Dexter knives, sheet pans, aluminum saucepans, carbon steel woks, food containers, utensils etc. The prices are higher than I have paid in the past when I lived in NYC. They are also significantly higher than resturant supply sites on the internet. I would go here if I need something right away, but I would order online otherwise. Even with shipping and handling I come out ahead. If you are used to shopping at Target, or Sur La Table, the prices are at least 50% off, and often better quality. As always shop with a list. I went on a Saturday afternoon and there's plenty of street parking. read more

They really have everything you need here at such an affordable price! As some reviewers have said, it's a tight space, but the staff has always been helpful when I go in--just ask and they'll direct you! Parking is quite decent (for now--probably once all the new apartments are built in the area it'll be harder) and free. It's a perfect spot to buy an inexpensive pan that you probably don't need, but just want to try for a new recipe (something you can't really do at WS or Sur la Table). Cool store! I needed an aluminum half sheet pan but the one at the fancy kitchen boutique didn't fit into my budget. Thanks to Yelp I found Best Kitchen Supply. I got my sheet pan plus a really nice offset spatula and an enormous skimmer for a grand total of $14. There is a ton of useful equipment to browse through--will definitely be back. read more

This is a very nice family run store with what seems like an infinite selection of reasonably priced kitchen items. Although the store's target audience is definitely restaurants, this is still a great place to grab a wide range of kitchen/household items without the pretension or exorbitant prices you find at a Bed Bath & Beyond or Sur La Table type of establishment. Great for anyone stocking up on kitchen supplies, young people getting a new house/kitchen set up, and anyone organizing a party that requires some oddball items and/or items in bulk. read more
