    Water damaged bed

    Our move with pods started off great. When looking at options for the move, pods was expensive;, but the convenience of dropped off in front of complex, storing our items for 2 months and then again in front of our home was great. We paid about $7k to move from Hawaii to the mainland. All of the plans sounded great. We got our permits from the city to keep pod on the street, got the delivery time and the pod was delivered as expected. Our move went well and the pod fit all of our belongings as planned. The problems started when we opened our pod on the receiving end. We expected small shifting of goods as with any move. Unfortunately as we began unloading our pod we started to notice much bigger issues. Our goods were wet, clearly water damaged and some moldy. There was standing water on top of plastic storage tubs, our mattress was water stained from top to bottom (clearly soaking in as it dripped through, boxes were drenched and misshapen and the print on the boxes transferred over to sofa cushions and other pieces of furniture they were stacked or leaned against. We unloaded our pod and began taking an inventory of damages. An entire home of goods with little help takes a few days to complete. Once completely unloaded, we compiled a list and called pods to advise of the damage. It was a nightmare to get anyone on the phone, in 3 days I spent over 7 hours on hold, getting callbacks and being bounced department to department. Finally I got a guy who said there was a claims manager that would reach out shortly to assess our damages and receive all our information. I was able to send all the photos of the damaged items to this guy (through multiple emails because they can only accept 10 images at a time). Then the real fun begins- and continues! I have been going back and forth with my claims manager for 5 weeks now. They keep saying "we are working on it", "we are trying to get information" etc. I call and they say that they need to water test our unit. Clearly we didn't load wet items into the pod, it was unloaded in dry conditions, I have photos of standing water on our goods, I have photos as we unloaded and a video of the pod before it was picked up showing water damage on the internal walls. They then say our pod unit had already been given to another customer and they would have to "check to see if it is ok" to perform a water test on the unit or switch out for another one. So the unit was not tested to be water resistant or waterproof before given to me, but they are saying they need to test it. The new occupant says they don't want them to do it, which I don't blame them at all. It's not their fault Pods didn't inspect the unit prior to assigning it to a new customer. They say they can't really do anything until the pod is empty again and returned. So they are saying they will send an on site manager out to take photos and do a walk around. This will not prove water can enter or exit and in fact proves less than the video I have and photos of our items. You would think they would use the facts. Anyways, it has been another week and I still have no update, photos or anything more than I had a week ago. The worst part of this is that I am also working with my insurance company to file a claim because pods isn't doing anything (I had my own renters insurance on the pod). Because pods won't give them a statement about how the water made entry, I'm stuck waiting because of pods. This has turned into the worst moving experience I have ever had. Pods has done nothing to try and rectify this situation and find resolve. So my family and I are still sitting with damaged goods and mold on our furniture as they try to "work on it". With a family and 1 year old in the house, it is absolutely unacceptable. I would recommend you go with a company with better service, values and follow through. Pods has absolutely not been it. It's apparent they do not care about their customers. I'm sure they will respond with a canned answer of "send us your contact info so we can work on it." You have it- you need to handle my claim.

From the moment they arrived, they got right to work and did not waste a single minute. I was honestly impressed by how quickly they packed/moved everything while still being careful with my furniture & boxes. What could have easily been a long, exhausting day turned into one of the smoothest moves I've ever had. They were respectful, friendly, hardworking, and worked incredibly well as a team. As a busy nurse who's juggling work, grad school, and life, I truly appreciated how seamless they made this process. Their professionalism and work ethic did not go unnoticed. Wouldn't recommend them still. Review not changed. 7/20: No reimbursement in full or any additional communication from this company and it's been almost 2 months. Avoid them at all costs! 7/14: Yes, accidents happen, we understand that and asked your company to make good on them. A $120 gesture of "goodwill" isn't reimbursement in full, it's a slap in the face that we refused. If there's truly a reimbursement in full for the brand new dresser and trench I will update this review again. If not, I'll update this with the communications from your staff.

I also had an extra large sofa that almost didn't make it through the door.. they never gave up and ultimately got it inside using top notch problem solving skills. Did my freshly painted wall and ceiling get a little scuffed up? Yes, but something is always going to get a little banged up during a move, that's just reality.     I hired Atlanta Home Movers (AHM) to deliver my new washer and dryer and junk my old units. I am a…read more60-year-old man, so needed help with everything, and AHM were wonderful. David in the office told me what to expect when I booked and answered all my questions: it all went exactly as he said it would. I paid a simple hourly fee for the labor, and a flat fee for the junk removal of the old units. No hidden costs. Richard was the team lead, and his experience was clear; they arrived on time and they handled the job with speed and assuredness. They quickly took out the old units with a lot of care to my property, then they fully installed the new ones for me. They made all the connections and tested it, so I didn't have to worry. I can't say enough about how well they treated me - they were all true pros every step of the way. AHM handled each detail, and I ALWAYS knew what to expect and what it would cost in time and money. They were transparent with everything and took great care of me. I will happily hire them again whenever I need labor, junk removal, or moving services.

I recently hired Top Dog for a move -- and it turned out to be the worst decision I've made all year. During the move, one of the movers entered my private bathroom without asking permission. He remained in there for several minutes, during which I was still being charged for his time. This was not only unprofessional but also a clear violation of boundaries. When I called the company to address the matter, the response was dismissive and unprofessional. The representative told me he "didn't see a problem" and compared the situation to letting a mover use his own bathroom. I explained that my bathroom had been professionally cleaned the day before -- and I had not even used it myself yet. I requested they arrange for it to be cleaned again, but my concern was brushed off. I was told they would "call back after speaking with the worker," but I never received any follow-up. No apology. No offer of resolution. No discount. Nothing. This company demonstrated a complete lack of respect for its customers and their property. Based on my experience, I strongly advise avoiding Top Dog for any moving needs.
