After setting up a time online which was extremely convenient, the arrival of my Pod went extremely well. Carolina Hernandez contacted me before arriving and made sure we were on the same page about everything. Once she arrived with my 12 ft Pod she turned out to be even better in person ! Accessing the access to my townhouse here in Ankeny she easily maneuvered the Pod in my driveway very quickly. WOW...did we ever get suckered! Went to website to decide on size of POD needed or whether multiple would be. Based on the website description of what "will fit" we selected just one large pod. *Also rented a truck just in case* Movers that we hired came over on move day and said "your stuff will not fit in both the Pod and the truck, we can move it but you will have stuff left over" which of course really upset me considering I even got a 17ft truck as back up. Needless to say, I feel scammed. I already knew I would only use about 2-7days of a pod while paying for full month but then finding out it would not fit everything it said while also spending money on rental truck... Thankfully BLACK BELT MOVERS were able to reschedule us for the next day and brought their truck which had ample room to get the job done. Out of the old and into the new house all within 5hrs including travel time. Oh, did I forget to mention when I checked on the payments for PODS that the accuracy of their quotes for delivery are almost always fairly off?!? Yeah, so I paid for a Pod that not only did not fit what it was supposed to but also got charged more than expected. If you need to actually store your items they may be worth while but if you are MOVING from point A-B in one shot don't bother with a pod...contact Black Belt Movers, ask for Shaun and tell'em Big Jim sent you. Even if you do wish to store...go there and take a look at the Pod as they clearly embellish on how much one can store. Use again, no way! Recommend, RUN AWAY!!! read more

As I was typing this and taking to a second pod customer service representative, I was on the verge of giving the PODS Service a 1 star and at that point I was so mad they didn't ever deserve that, I had gotten charge a crazy amount for something I had no ideal I was getting charged for, the first customer service rep was no help and didn't even try which just made me more mad and I asked to talk to someone else, Thankfully that was (Jean) like Demi jeans, he had a calming voice and listen to me as I was going off like a mad women about being charged $280 for storage fees , yes I was going nuts, cussing a storm and I know it wasn't his fault and he was trying to do everything he could to keep me calm and this was just 4 days before Christmas. I told him I was so upset that I didn't want them to drop off my pod and I will go get a truck and get it all moved out by self that day, he put me on hold and said, Ma, I hope this make you a little happy but I think we worked something out for you, we will credit your account, still drop off the pod but we will pick up the next day, I said that works, and then ask me if I was done yelling at him lol. There are some great people who really like there job and care about their customers and Jean he was it, my blood pressure has gone down I was done dropping f bombs and he did everything he could to make things right even though it seems like everything was going so wrong. I rented a pods storage unit. All of a sudden my credit card was charged. It was my understanding, in review of my contract; I had paid in full for two months. Finding this charge erroneous, I contacted customer service to discuss the matter with them. The customer service representative was rude and would not fully listen to what I was trying to ask. She would not answer the questions to a satisfactory end. The charges cannot be disputed, Pods does not clearly define what their charges are. Had their charges been more clearly defined, I as a consumer would have taken my business elsewhere. I will never do business with them again. Nor, would I ever recommend them to anyone. read more

Plainview New York to Maquoketa Iowa, it went without a snag. We packed all our boxes on hand trucks, the ones with the folding handles. When the pod was delivered, it was a wood frame interior which turned out to be a plus, there were eye hooks I used to put loops in to make it easier to strap the boxes in. We had to change the pick up date because when we sold the house the closing date was up in the air. Was not a problem and I changed the pick up date with the chat feature on the Pods website. We drove to Iowa which took longer because of the winter storms in the states from Iowa to New York. Staying an extra day in a hotel worked out well- we missed the worst of it and saw the interstate littered with cars. The day they dropped off the pod it was windy and around 1 degree outside. Sadly they couldn't park the pod in the driveway- low hanging wires. The night before we moved the cars out of the driveway, my wife's Mini wouldn't start it wouldn't even recognize the keyless ignition. My Kia started and stalled out before I could get close enough to give the Mini a jump ... so glad we have great neighbors who helped us push the cars so the truck could drop off the pod. The next day it was warm enough the cars would start and we put them back in the driveway- over to one side to have a clear run to the garage. Just in time too, the police showed up, my car had been parked on the wrong side of the street for the failed attempt at giving the Mini a jump. We should have gotten permission from the town to park a pod on the street, but we explained it was an error that we missed the low hanging wires. Unloaded the Pod in two hours- just us two and 3 of the hand trucks collapsed (packing mishap). We called that afternoon and the Pod was picked up the next day, we called the police (small town) and the town administrator and everyone was very happy. Add a star if you go through life as an optimist remove a star if you can not be pleased. read more

The pods system was perfect for our situation. Communication was a breeze with English speaking representative. Very thorough, with detailed instructions as how the system worked. Scheduled delivery & pickup & they were right on time. Same results 6 months later when we needed to unload our stuff. Good company with whom to work. Delivery gentleman took good care to pick up & put down the pod carefully. No damage to anything. Very satisfied & would use the system again. read more
