Matt guided me to purchase the Pinarello Grevil F3. The purchasing process was more like a finding if the bike fits my body style rather than just buying a bike and adjusting the saddle post. Matt provided me full service knowledge and the fit of three different select bikes. He also adjusted my shoe cleats for maximum effectiveness. This process eliminated the bike I was interested in prior to me just buying straight from the rack. Ordered a BMC online. Paid for it. Never received a "your order has shipped email" so after a week or so I called to find out where the bike was. Apparently, it's all out of stock and this company just failed to look into it. Good thing I called. Barely got an apology out of them. Poor organization, poor inventory management. Expected better from a shop that's this well reviewed. Update: Called Matt Wheeler and asked him to refund my money. He didn't even know how to do that. This guy is completely clueless. I've been going to Podium for 8 years now. Ever since a buddy of mine raved about the bike fitting he got that added miles per hour to his average speed. When I got my "forever" bike frame, I wanted it built not just with the best gear but the with the most attention to detail. Matt and his team truly love what they do and it shows. Matt was as excited about building the bike as I was. Add to that the culture that Matt instills in his business which is customer centric (and not cyclist centric) and the experience you get is tailored to you and not what their expectations of cyclist is. I have been riding for over 30 years and have always felt judged or lesser than with the exception of when I used to race. I had bounced around from bike shop to shop in ATL and it was either attitude or staffed with people that just didn't put love into your bike. Speed up to today. I just got a new pair of shoes and wanted the cleats lined up properly. I forked out the $100 for the service (sounds expensive but if you're putting some milage on the bike, knee pain is not worth being penny wise and pound foolish). The service is thorough as expected. As we were going through the fitting, Matt noticed my position was a bit off so he tweaked some other settings which are already paying dividends. As he was about to give me back my bike, he noticed some potential issues in my aging wheels and asked the mechanic to take a look. they found some issues and we scheduled a service appt. I expected my bike back right then and there, but the mechanic kept finding little tweaks here and there that would make my riding much safer and more enjoyable until my appointment date. This level of service is something I have never seen outside of this shop. Anything that is not tied to a service ticket (and the hourly fee) is never or rarely offered at other shops unless you are about to buy a bike or just did. Keep it up Podium! read more

This is my bike shop and I love my bike shop! So, if you plan to spend a lot of time on your bike then you want to get fitted for a bike that is going to be comfortable. Matt Cole, owner and fit extraordinaire, will take care of you as he took care of me and many people I ride with. I started my fit with filling out a form about me. We talked about what I wanted, what I was having problems with and what I was looking for in a bike. During the fitting, Matt looked at how I moved with various functional tests and gave me better advice then I have gotten from doctors. Then he measured me electronically and the fit bike magically moved into position for my measurements. Then I rode. Little adjustments here and there until it was right. For me. After that I knew I could trust him. I gave him my price range and Matt found me a bike, fitted everything on it, got me shoes with insoles and even showed me some exercises to do at home that will help with my strength deficiencies. I have ridden my bike and its fits! I have had no problem so far. And its so pretty! Podium also supplies all your cycling and multisport needs. Need to rent a wetsuit, check! One of the last gadgets I needed to take my bike training to the next level was a Power Meter. By talking to the folks at Podium, I was able to quickly find the set up that was right for me. I had been eyeing the Quarq for some time. The best discussion I had was what type of cranks I should get with the meter. Tim and Alan are so nice and very professional. Idk my ass from my elbow when it comes to bikes and they were happy to explain everything in laymens terms so I understood. I bought a cheap-o bike and it was very difficult to ride because pretty much everything was just a little off. They fixed it quickly and even readjusted my bell. Wow! We had an incredible experience here today. We needed to have my new Garmin Edge 520 installed. Lee & Charlie(??) came out to do a quick install and turns out that now my bullet won't fit. Lee to the rescue! He found a piece of medal that he cut to attach & extend the arm of my Garmin mount. He even set up my screens on the Garmin and paired it to my Garmin app. Best customer service ever!!! We always get great service here but today Podium went above & beyond. We drive 100+ miles to this shop to have our tri bikes serviced here. Matt has done both our fittings. We love this place! read more

This is a MUST READ if you are a NEW or EXPERIENCED RIDER. So, I bought my bike in late May, got fitted, got all the gear, and then started training for the MS 150 in New Jersey at the end of September. From the beginning, it seemed like my bike was not correctly falling into gear. As I rode more and the cables stretched (due to normal use), the gear issue got worse. So bad that I took it to the place where I originally bought it...3 different times. They could never fix the problem. I got wise and tried another bike shop...Twice (to fix the same problem). Still no success (it would work for a ride and then stop). Then, I tried one more shop...same result. ***Bear in Mind, EVERYONE OF THESE SHOPS HAS MANY MORE REVIEWS AND ARE WELL KNOWN THROUGHOUT the Atlanta cycling community.*** Finally, after a month-and-a-half of fighting my gears and getting left by the pack, I heard about Podium Sports. It was Saturday and I was in a bind because I new I had to train and and I couldn't ride my $3000 bike. I called them and they suggested I bring it in...then, a younger lad named Jacob starting working on it. He used a lot of techniques I hadn't seen in previous shops. For one, he actually rode my bike before and after he worked on it. He used tools to check the hanger in addition to visible inspection. He pulled the cables and visually inspected them...then, he found a kink in one of them even though the bike was basically brand new. After 1 1/2 hours, I was on my way with gears that actually worked. Later, beacuse I was having serious butt and shoulder pain, I got fitted by Andy. New seat, repositioned shoes and realigned handle bars. Pain was gone, I was faster and the longer rides were actually fun. Do yourself a favor...check them out. read more

I am a Cat 3 racer with tens of thousands of miles under my belt. For about a year I have been struggling with my fit so I decided to follow the recommendations of my teammates and visit Podium Multisport. I was very happy I did. Most of my fitting was done by Andy, although both Andy and Matt looked at me and consulted one another - thus I got two fitters for the price of one. The fitting began by filling out a form - similar to what you do when you walk into a doctor's office: describing any issues and complaints that I have had as well as my goals and the type of riding that I do. Andy lowered my saddle and moved me forward. He also adjusted my cleats. In addition he instructed me on how to properly position myself on the bicycle and on the proper pedal stroke technique. One thing I thought was significant was realizing the amount of rocking side to side that I did on the bike. Since I rarely ride a trainer I don't really notice it. But while I was doing the fit it was quite apparent. Andy knew exactly what was wrong and silenced the rocking motion by making various adjustments. I felt noticeable relief immediately after the fit was done and simply felt more comfortable on the bike. After a couple of months I went back for a follow-up appointment. Since I have bought a new saddle in the mean time (which was installed at another shop) some of the rocking motion reappeared. Andy immediately noticed that although the saddle was installed well it was slightly off and was causing me to rock again. He promptly corrected it with a small adjustment. I was impressed by his ability to spot something so quickly and make exactly the adjustments needed in such a way that I could really notice the difference. It says something about knowing what you are doing versus simply trusting the computers. I highly recommend Podium. My experience shows that they are just as proficient in fitting road racers as they are in fitting triathletes. read more
