Pocco is a place that I could eat at a few times a week and never get tired of. They have staples that I crave all the time! My favorites: Feta Dip- delicious. And with the puffy bread.. Sooooo yummy. Save some to dip your kabob in later; feta dip makes everything better. Kabobs- chicken of beef, cooked wonderfully. Delicious. The chicken and beef tips are also very tasty. Thai shrimp lasagna- NOT lasagna. I repeat NOT lasagna (in the traditional form). But what it is, shrimp upon crispy wontons with the two most delicious sauces, makes it better than most lasagna. Their Sangria is also a must when I go, and their fattoush should not be overlooked. The service has always been great as well. read more

Just had take out from here last night and enjoyed it very much! My daughter, who is the pickiest eater known to man, loves the chicken kabobs, and the fresh pita bread just out of the oven with the flaming goat cheese. Fatoosh salad is my favorite.. The atmosphere in the restaurant is refreshing, and the Sangria's are delicious. Highly recommend... Would give five stars but food portions don't work for everyone. I went on vacation to Italy and Greece. While in Greece, I spent time in Santorini and Athens. I never thought I'd be able to find food here in the states that compared to what I ate while in Greece. It was awesome! The Ara-Yes Halabi was so flavorful, the hummus was great and so were the dolmas. We tried several small plates and were not disappointed in anything we ate. I have been to Poco Piatti several times over the past few years. The service is always very friendly and accommodating. The decor is very unique and creates an intimate atmosphere perfect for quiet dinners. I decided to try the Shish Kafta, a dish off of their "large plates" section of the menu. The dish is essentially lamb, onion, and seasonings pressed and grilled on a skewer served with two sides, of which I chose risotto and steamed vegetables. The meat on my skewers was burnt at the ends but very juicy in the center portion. The taste in the center was great and what I had come to expect from Poco Piatti. My risotto had an overpowering taste of cheese that was only offset by mixing it with the juices from the meat. The steamed vegetables were cooked nicely, firm but soft enough to chew without much strain. For dessert, I decided on the baklava, a dish which I have made from scratch and enjoyed at many restaurants. This baklava, however, tasted as though it came from a frozen package. It was very hard to cut into and the pasty dough seemed too flaky with an almost burnt feel to it. The pricing for the large plates at Poco Piatti seems a little odd, as a full portion (two skewers and two sides) is about $7 more than the half portion (one skewer and one side). With side choices such as rice and potatoes, the markup seems a little higher than average. If you do go to Poco Piatti, I would recommend sharing plates with other people at the table. You get to have a greater variety of what they offer and may end up saving a couple bucks in the end. I would probably not go back here for awhile unless I had to. There were only a couple other tables being served during the peak dinner hours on a Monday night so perhaps others are waiting it out as well. read more

I questioned why we would be charged a tip for just a table of 5 and I told her she lost out as I was going to leave a larger tip than 18%. I used to love this restaurant. When it was located on Monroe Street. When it served unique, rotating menu items. When said food quality was solid, not hit or miss or missssss. This last visit to the Perrysburg location was my last. After several return trips where we were served rudely...at the bar...and horribly in a booth...I had to sit through a dinner with visiting relatives. The service was awful. We arrived on the hour. We were not greeted at our table until 25 after. Our drinks weren't served until 40 after. By the BARTENDER! The rest of our service was spotty at best. Leaving us to request help from other employees. The food was good, but not consistent. And I truly used to love this restaurant. We celebrated several graduations and birthdays at Poco over the last five years. I was most disappointed that we had invited our "out of the country" guests to a local haunt that displayed such poor service. read more

We have always enjoyed the good food at Poco Piatti. It is great fun to order several small plates ranging from Spanish, to Middle Eastern, to Italian to Greek. The sangria is excellent too. My favorites are the Mediterranean salad, lubia (green beans with onions, tomatoes and olive oil), shrimp appetizers, kabobs, and small pizzas. Would have loved to checked out the food, but unfortunately this place is ran by incompetent people. We were in town to visit family for the holiday, we wanted to eat before choosing not leave our hotel, Hilton Garden Inn (in the same shopping center). I called to see how long the wait was and the hostess stated there was no wait. We left the hotel and drive there instead of walking since it was raining. It took us all of MAYBE 3 minutes to get there. When I walked up to the hosts stand and was told there was a 30 minute wait. I don't appreciate being lied to or being taken advantage of. I will not be returning or recommending this place to anyone, especially my family, they deserve better than this substandard service. read more

When you walk in, the place is wide open, poorly decorated and not homey at all, and you feel like you are coming into a big italian place or something. With the "poco piatti" name, and the pitchers of sangria, you would want this to be spanish .oh well! The sangria was okay. Tasted very watered down. We got the calamari, which was avergae and normal. We also got the fatoosh, which i actually really really enjoyed. And then we got the lamb chops with green beans and french fries. Fries were good, chops were very fatty and luke warm. Too soft. And the green beans were not cooked even close to enough! they were hard! OHH...and the saganaki...man...i hope someone that works there reads this...(being greek, i know) the cheese was WAYYY too thin and burnt! NOt how it should be. And where were my lemons. We need our lemons yo! Im usually not such a negative critic, but this place just had me wondering what i spent $75 on when i left! Very confusing. A bit of a letdown given the five star average (albeit based on 2 reviews) at the other location and the recommendations on Chowhound. Onto the food... -Pita: dry, crusty, bland. 'Nuff said. -Paella: Nowhere on the menu did it say that [tasteless] sausage would be part of the conglomerate of meat in my fave Spanish dish. Small gripe aside, the chef must have squeezed 100 lemons onto the paella alone. -Stuffed boneless chicken breast: Ya know those cardboard tasting Healthy Choice frozen dinners? They tasted 100X better than the insipid chicken breast stuffed with a soggy cake of ricotta cheese and spinach. -Sauteed tenderloin tips: So far, dinner had awakened my sour taste buds to the point that they have gained immunity. The tenderloin tips served its purpose for my salt-detecting buds. How much salt could one chef possibly add to this specific tapa dish? The answer would be crapload. -Crispy southern fried frog legs: I've consumed enough of these critters to know what sets apart delectable from decent from unsavory. The ones at PP fared low on the Frog-o-meter. The heavy breading took away from the distinct texture and flavor. The subpar food was coupled with unfriendly service. The table behind us, who had our listless server, ordered the Saganaki Kasseri, which apparently came with an "OPA!" when presented. The "OPA" sounded more like "Ooompa." She checked in on us once throughout the entire meal which was perfectly fine with me. My dad had to specifically ask her for a refill; even though both my parents' glasses were nearly empty when she swung by, she had only refilled my mom's drink. Hmmmm.Where to start? This was one one of my go to places in the past, but I had moved on. I decided to make a trip there recently and was sadly disappointed. The prices had risen but were not supported by dish sizes or quality. The falafel salad at $10 featured THREE quartered falafel which encircled about 3/4 cup of chopped vegetables. The lubia which used to be delicious was oily and flavorless. And to add to this, there was an incessant banging in the back which at one point made it impossible to hear the wait person. The service was extremely slow, and the food was as cold as the restaurant was. Throw in that they wouldn't accept our groupon because of a "holiday blackout" and needless to say our experience was pretty terrible. It's sad to think how bad this place has become, especially thinking back to that humble little restaurant that they were (when out on Monroe street) with excellent food and service. My experience with Mediterranean food in the past has been much better than my experience with Poco Piatti. I understand Poco Pitatti means small plates, but they weren't a kiddin! One of the dishes ordered was the Lasagna Shrimp. When the waitress brought out the dish, there were three shrimp, each on top of a tortilla chip with some glaze drizzled over top of the shrimp. I used to love their pumpkin gnocchi, their risotto, their portobello pizza. the list goes on and on. Holy cow, if I could give this place more than 5 stars I would; it is just that great. I first went for dinner with some friends in December. I got a couple of different things and they got a few different things and we all shared. Which is my favorite way of eating out. One of the dishes I got was Mujadara which I'd never had. Oh my gosh was it delicious. It's a dish of lentils, rice, onions and pickles. The pickles in my opinion are what make this dish so divine. It would be good without them but they really elevate the dish. The next time I was in Perrysburg I ordered takeout and also got the falafel salad. While not up to the Mujadara level it was still really, really good. I got takeout yet again this last time I was in Perrysburg. I will do the same the next time I'm there. This is one of our favorite restaurants for several reasons. One it is tapas style, although the small dishes range from italian to mediterranean to thai and everything inbetween. It is very romantic and is inexpensive (tapas range from about 4.00-8.00 apiece. You can take your time and just order a couple dishes at a time, talk and drink some excellent sangria. The thai shrimp "lasagna" is excellent! I put not good for kids not because they would not be welcome, but because it really is best to take your time and linger for awhile which I don't think many kids would tolerate well, plus waitstaff is frequently rushing back and forth (as well as lighting saganaki a lot--OPA!) read more

Wow, the other reviews of Poco Piatti are pretty bad. My experiences with the food have been a bit better, although I've had poor service almost every time I've been there. The waitstaff often disappears for inordinate amounts of time, and my orders have been screwed up several times. The premise of Poco Piatti is "small plates", as in, you order a bunch of smaller dishes instead of one big entree. However, recently they have revamped the menu to include more entrees, so the "small plates" thing isn't forced on you anymore. I would describe Poco Piatti as a Mediterranean restaurant, although usually when I think of Mediterranean food, I just think Greek, Lebanese, etc. Poco Piatti, on the other hand, also has dishes from Italy and Spain, and even the odd French and Thai dish. There are some great dishes to be had here, although as a repeat customer, I have found the dishes to be inconsistent from one visit to the next. I almost always get the sauteed tenderloin tips in hummus, which I love, but one time the lemon was so strong it was nearly inedible. The Markouk chicken wraps are also at the top of my list. They are little wraps of chicken and pickle served with garlic sauce. The Saganaki Kasseri is usually pretty good, if you are into flaming cheese, that is. The chicken shish kabob is good, although I just don't care for the spices in the rice that comes with it. The patatas riganates are okay, but not great, and I feel basically the same way about the pumpkin gnocchi; I could take it or leave it. For what it is worth, the atmosphere is very nice. It has an upscale feel with a nice decor, and the tables aren't too crowded so it feels very comfortable. All in all, I like having Poco Piatti in my restaurant rotation to spice things up a bit, but you can definitely get better food and service elsewhere. read more
