Right after installation, my gas bill jumped from $30 to $350 a month for several months. Three different technicians came out before they finally found a defective part in the new furnace. I kept asking the owner what exactly was wrong, but no one ever gave a clear answer -- they don't seem to communicate with each other at all. Most recently, a tech left my furnace running but disconnected from the thermostat. It blew loud nonstop air for 12 hours, making it impossible to sleep or stay in my house. The owner ignored my calls and texts. Very disappointing. This company clearly does not care about their customers or their comfort.

I know you're a business and have costs and I understand sharing those expenses with you. My frustration is not about the money, it's about how the situation was handled. After I rejected that amount, it was all of a sudden only $149 on special from the owner, Robert. I thought that was strange, but I told him that that needed to be the amount when they got here too, and he assured me it would be. I made the appointment for the day after Super Bowl and they were to arrive between 9:00 and 10:00 AM, texting me before they arrived. I finally got a text around 9:20 AM telling me that the technician was sick and we could schedule for any other day that week. Sounded suspiciously like a hangover to me, but whatever. When they finally got here and removed the filters, I was advised it was now going to be $50 more. I had explained that I had a small house fire inside, but we had cleaned all of the filters and now they are stained. I even asked Jeffrey if I didn't want to pay the extra money, was he gonna just put everything back together and go away? I could see by his expression that was not going to happen so there was nothing I could do. I'm an elderly woman and I already told them since it was only $149, I wouldn't even ask for a senior discount but now they raised the price so I was very disappointed. As they were working, and I came back out into my garage, I caught Jeffrey talking on the phone about my water heater and putting a sticker on it. I told him stickers were OK, but I didn't know it was that big... not only did he put a giant sticker on something he wasn't working on, but he threw the backing on the floor of my garage! When they left, I looked at the unit, and all of the lights were flashing red. At first he had said that the filters would have to dry and then plug in the face plate later, but he plugged it in immediately and it didn't look happy. I texted the workmen and got no response. Finally, the owner responded and told me to hit the reset button. There was still one light flashing bright red after I reset. I had to have my husband work on it when he got home to get the red light to go away. It was very stressful for me overall, but I guess the job did get done... time will tell. It doesn't look like they cleaned anything on my outside unit either. I hope they do better with other people. It could have been just a bad set of circumstances but being "sick" on a Monday after the Super Bowl seems weird knowing that it could be done any other day of the week so the person couldn't have been too sick.

They will extort you, send you an estimate for one amount but then find…read moreother issues while installing the over priced part you agreed to, because you were left for a week without heat (after having already been out to inspect the heater once before) and the cost will double. My mother-in-law called them because her heater was making a loud noise. They came and shut off her heat and told her they'd be back in 2 days. Then at that time she got a text message telling her to shut something off, or push a button. She did and then they were under staffed and couldn't come out. After 6 days of my 80 year old mother-in-law living in a house without heat (her house was sub 50 degrees) they sent her an invoice for $360 because she apparently needed a pump and they said her heater would not turn back on without it (even though it worked prior to them turning it off). She was freezing so she just said as long as it was today. They were at her house within an hour (ironic since they were SOOO busy the first 6 days...). Then, the estimate DOUBLED while the tech was at her house as he said he found a gas leak (the house did begin to smell like gas AFTER the first tech turned off the heat). (I should say the 2nd tech was EXTREMELY understanding and helpful. He also confirmed that the gas leak was NOT reported by the 1st tech and the 1st tech was a new guy.) My mother-in-law agreed to it but called us. While we were on the phone with her the tech said that to fix all the problems he found this time (again someone had already been out there to inspect before) it would be $1500!!!!!!!!!!!! My mother-in-law started crying because she couldn't afford it but she couldn't handle being cold any longer. I called the company, the receptionist told me she wasn't able to make any decisions and would have her manager call me back. Then my husband went to talk to the technician at my MIL's house and he told us that she was delayed due to their high volume of customer's with larger (dollar amount) problems. I called the company back and asked to speak to the owner/manager. The receptionist denied my request and told me she never told me she wasn't authorized and that they have all their calls recorded. She told me they had record of calling my MIL every day to schedule the service but we have phone logs showing my MIL called them every day. She told me we were going to sign a waiver to release them from liability of the gas leak. When I said we wouldn't sign it, so she said she was pulling the techs from the job and hung up on me. When I called back, she again told me they were leaving the job (my husband who was with the technicians confirmed that they had tried to recall the techs from the job and my son had been recording EVERYTHING from their interactions with the techs) and refused to get me in touch with the manager or owner. I said I have read numerous reviews who said the owner was a man of integrity and I had seen negative reviews retracted after speaking with him. She again told me she was pulling the techs and tried to hang up on me. I told her I didn't want that and maybe if I could speak to someone who was authorized to discuss these matters with me (and not lie to me about what was or was not said on recorded phone calls as I am 100% SURE they will justify MY side of the story and not hers) maybe we would sign it but not without discussing these very unethical practices with someone who did have authority, and the person who would actually be impacted by our response to this distress (not someone being a complete brat and who didn't comprehend the severity of the situation). I was put on hold for about 15 minutes but then told she would call me back. I haven't heard anything from the company since. I believe this occurred intentionally to extort my mother-in-law. I also think the initial tech was responsible for the gas leak (whether intentionally or accidentally I can't say). Because they were not clear about what was needed, and they kept delaying her, she didn't have time to get a 2nd opinion or compare prices. We will be taking this up with the BBB (https://www.bbb.org/file-a-complaint) and the Attorney General as the Department of Justice has a form specifically for Elder Abuse and Elder Financial Exploitation Statutes (https://www.justice.gov/elderjustice/prosecutors/statutes). This is completely immoral, unethical and NOT an action of integrity. I will also be getting someone out to my MIL's to take a look at the gas leak and give us their opinion on how the gas leak came to be.

Andres was very responsive to my questions and were open to handling the permit, which is often a challenge with other contractors. Adrian showed up promptly for install, arriving on time and got right to work. He was very thorough and the install looked great when he got done. You can tell he takes pride in his work. The issue I had with Greentop is the warranty registration, which was incorrectly registered with my name and contact info as the dealer. I traded a couple e-mails with Vera and was then ghosted. I ended up calling the manuf myself to have them at least correct the name of the dealer on my warranty registration to Greentop. They advised they couldn't change the contact info. I'm hoping I don't have any warranty issues down the line due to their error.
