My wife and I had our kitchen floor refinished by Plus Hardwood Flooring at the beginning of May (2017), which is 3/4 inch solid red oak that was installed and finished over 17 years ago. The finish was in bad shape, which some water surface damage near the refrigerator and areas that were down to bare wood, along with some fairly bad stains. Patrick and Michael sanded the floor down to a smoother finish than the original finishing, with no signs of the stains or water surface damage. We had our kitchen floor stained with Bona Spice Brown, which goes great with our cabinets, baseboard and wall colors. We went with the Elite Package with an upgrade from Loba "Easy Finish", which is a one-part residential water based finish, to the Loba Supra AT, which is a two-part commercial water based finish, since we have a big family and quite a bit of traffic in our kitchen. The end result of our kitchen floor refinishing project that was done by Plus Hardwood Flooring was awesome. The floor looks like brand new and better than the original finishing over 17 years ago. The use of the Lagler Trio sanding machine for the final two sandings left the floor very smooth, with no board edges felt as was the case with the original finishing of the floor. Patrick, the owner of Plus Hardwood Flooring was great to work with. He was very responsive to calls and emails, and provided great information and guidance during our floor refinishing project. He did what he said he would do, and didn't make any promises that he didn't keep. From a pricing perspective, Patrick's price was lower than another company for doing the same work, using the same products, including the Lagler Trio sanding machine. We just had our white oak floors refinished by Plus a week ago. Patrick and his craftsmen did a superb job of restoring our 30-year-old floors. They are gorgeous--smooth and satiny underfoot. We opted for the Elite package with Loba water-based finish in "natural. " This finish brought out the depth and richness of the natural oak grain of our floors better than any water-based product we have ever seen. Before the job started, I had been concerned about damage to the toe/ kick / quarter round moldings that sometimes occurs when floors are re-finished. Patrick explained the Plus method for avoiding damage, and his analysis was spot-on. The detail sanding was exceptional, and the moldings are in great shape for a bit of simple paint touch-up. To top this all off, Patrick is a great communicator who is dedicated to excellent customer service. We will be enjoying these floors for years! read more

I called Patrick because my Brazilian Cherry floors had faded over the years and had been pretty beat up by my kids and their toys. He got back to me very promptly and was out the next day to give a estimate and explain his dustless process in great detail. He got me on his calendar and he himself was at my house within a week and actually finished the job ahead of schedule and it was meticulous. I went over the floor plank by plank all the way to the trim and found ZERO flaws, and he wasn't exaggerating when he said dustless which was super important to me since my son has bad allergies. Overall it was one of the best home improvement/repair experiences I've ever had. I wish Patrick did more than just floors because I would hire him for a dozen other things that I've done in and out of my house over the years. read more

They were stellar so I thought I'd give them a chance to quote me for a rather large (three floor install & refinish) job at my home. We had a major job including total removal of the upstairs floors and installation of plywood underlayment, as well as new oak flooring upstairs and refinishing the first floor. The upstairs was very squeaky before and is now nearly completely quiet when walking on it. The new floor is everywhere smooth as glass and nearly as hard as polished granite! We love the color we choose and it is uniform throughout. There was also some old water damage in the kitchen that was seamlessly repaired. The finish chemicals were very quick to cure and there was great attention to detail. Months later, we have had no concerns and are still very happy with the results. read more

I own one of the largest residential cleaning companies in the Chicago area and once in a while there will be damages to floors where we have to have someone come out and fix them.
