We needed repair from a leaking dishwasher and decided to run hardwood throughout the rest of our first floor. Zudor flooring matched the floors and finished them so that it looks like the whole wood floor was original, no seams or lines where new wood was added. We were in FL during the process, and Paul communicated very well and cleaned up daily. We arrived home to a beautiful new floor and were delighted with the results. Good price, quality work. I was pleased with their work in my home in Des Plaines, IL. Would be a 5-star job but for the flooring stain being all over my baseboards. This was not mentioned up front but was in fine print on the estimate. This caused me to incur expense to paint the baseboards. Paul Zudor did offer a $100 discount and pointed out the fine print on the estimate. I did not take him up on the discount and paid the agreed price but suggested he verbally mention that to prospective clients before starting a job in the future. I would have appreciated that. I got quotes from three flooring companies and I choose Paul Zudor Flooring for my floor refinishing work. Paul was extremely friendly and answered all my questions. I decided to have him do two jobs. One at my condo that I'm renting and one at my home. The condo had some flooring that needed to be replaced and floors refinished. My home just had to have the kitchen floor refinished. Both jobs were done extremely well. I can't tell which boards he replaced. And the flooring for both places match existing flooring. We purchased a two-unit building last year and needed help with the flooring --existing wood floors were layered in linoleum, carpet, and other types of flooring, there was extensive water damage beneath the radiators and staples/nails in some of the flooring. Paul was incredible to work with --when the plumbing was delayed, he rearranged his schedule to accommodate, and explained all options to refinishing/replacing the floors. The quote he provided was lower than others I had gathered, but the finished product was much higher than other flooring work we had done in previous properties. My husband and I had reached out to a bunch of commercially operated flooring companies and even a few smaller, hometown companies to inquire about ripping up our salmon-colored ceramic flooring and laying down actual hardwood floor. Each quote we got seemed very cushioned for profit and caused my husband to just say no each time. Paul came to our house the day I inquired (I was so happy it worked out that well), gave us a free estimate right away and then gave us probably the most fair and honest quote we had gotten by far. My husband was ecstatic to have found a fair person to deal with! Paul even made the lumber order and just had me call and pay for it which shows you that we paid for all labor and not just "cushioned profit for materials". Paul Zudor was prompt in his response to my request for a bid, took time to walk around my floors and point out possible problems (such as a severe pet stain). He gave a verbal quote but was quick to provide a written proposal when I asked for one. He was courteous to put up plastic at entrances to keep dust down, he also vacuumed on a regular basis, again to keep dust down. I recently called Paul at Zudor to investigate why my engineered hardwood floors were warping. Paul came in and investigated and found that my dishwasher had been leaking for a while and was causing the floors to warp. The Zudor team assessed the damage, pulled the flooring up so it could dry and replaced with new flooring. I was so happy with the service and pricing that I had them also replace the carpeting on my stairwell and landing with hardwood as well. The whole crew was professional and very detailed (and they put up with my dog following them in and out). The floors looked great - better than when originally installed by another contractor. I wish I would have called Zudor when I was installing the first time (their experience really shows). Lastly, one very important item to me when hiring a contractor is that they are on time. Not only did they start at 7am the days they were there, they were there 10 minutes early! Well done! I went with him because his quote was timely, he had excellent reviews on Yelp and my sense after meeting with him was that he was a true professional. It was a big job requiring that we vacate the home for a few days. Naturally we were concerned that they might not get it done on time and of course would it be done professionally. Paul recently refinished most of the hardwood flooring in our new house. He did a great job. He was very prompt -- within a day of calling him he stopped by to see our floors and gave us a quote. His prices were competitive with other people we talked to. He was able to fit in our project within a very reasonable amount of time which was really helpful, as we were not originally planning to have the floors done prior to moving in. He arrived early each morning and was really helpful in picking the right stain color.
