A previous contractor had installed LVP flooring in my mother's condominium so improperly that it created significant issues and posed a safety concern. I initially contacted Pete at 312 Flooring after finding the company online, simply hoping to get expert advice about the poor installation. Pete generously took the time to explain how the flooring should have been installed and what needed to be corrected. At that point, I was only seeking advice--not expecting to hire anyone. His knowledge, patience, and willingness to help impressed me so much that I called back to see whether 312 Flooring could repair the work the other contractor had left behind. They absolutely could--and did. The team handled a challenging project with exceptional skill and attention to detail. Their team assessed the situation, corrected the installation, and completed the job safely, properly, and with excellent craftsmanship. Communication was consistent and clear from start to finish. The crew was professional, knowledgeable, respectful of my older mom, and went above and beyond to ensure the job was done right. The finished result reflects the high quality of their workmanship. I sincerely regret not choosing 312 Flooring initially, and I would recommend them without reservation.

Highly recommend JP Hardwood Flooring!…read more Johnny came out to my house and gave me an estimate to refinish all of my hardwood floors the same day. He does charge more than a few other quotes I received, but his rates reflect the quality of his work. He is very responsive and laid down all of the stain options I was looking at in 4 different rooms throughout my house so I could really see how the color looked in different lighting conditions. He was also able to seamlessly fill in all of the cracks in our floors making them look brand new and did the entire house in less than a week! Make sure you do your research on whether or not you want Synteko for your finish - we ended up going with a water-based finish since we have a dog and little babies crawling on our floors and didn't want to risk the toxins, but I would definitely trust Johnny with the finish if you're interested in it. Finally, about a month after moving in, one of our stair treads broke off and Johnny was able to come and replace it in a matter of days - he asked for the measurements ahead of time, so when he showed up at 8am, he already had the tread pre-cut and was done with everything within the hour. His work is truly phenomenal and I would recommend him for any hardwood needs you have!

You're reading yelp reviews to find out if Ciprian is legit…read more He is. I bless you with the ability to now end your indecisive search for a hardwood installer - email / call him and return to your life free of worry for you are in safe hands my child. Extended Review: I was you - I didn't have anyone who knew a floor installer for hardwood, and I was trying to google-fu my way into finding one. I stumble across Ciprian, see the 5.0 google rating at 360+ reviews, and think either "this guy must be amazing" or "he's got a great review bot setup." Turns out he's just that good. I sent him an email about wanting to add hardwood flooring to two bedrooms in my Chicago condo, ideally matching the existing hardwood flooring throughout other areas of the home. He responded within the day with a rough estimate, and within 3 days made a visit to take measurements and produced a precise estimate that night, along with a diagram of what wood species my floor was and what he recommended. The next day, we had the install scheduled for 3 weeks later. He set expectations upfront that the color wouldn't be a perfect match since it wouldn't be the exact same wood, exact same stain, and all the flooring wouldn't be installed at the exact same time. Ciprian delivered the flooring a couple days after that. I didn't know this, but apparently it's best to have the wood acclimate to where it gets installed prior to being installed (for expansion / contracting based on temp / moisture). Ciprian knows this, because Ciprian knows wood. On the first day of the install, him and his partner had the carpet removed hardwood slinging immediately while also replacing some old base plywood boards free of charge; they finished installing the boards in both rooms that first day. oved When it was time to stain, he wanted me there to approve it - he mixed 5 different stains and placed them throughout the rooms to compare lighting with the existing boards. He then went back and forth tweaking the best stain making it darker/lighter until he got the perfect match - it was a point of personal pride to try and match it as close as possible. Ciprian is professional, punctual, responsive, diligent, efficient, and passionate about his wood species (which is a massive green flag for the guy installing your hardwood) and most importantly about the quality of work he provides. He and his team finished a day early, matched the new floor's stain against the current floors perfectly, and left me with a new standard for contractors that's going to be really hard to measure up against. If you made it this far, you can take the final step and shoot an email to Ciprian for whatever project you have because you've found your guy - he is him.
