Do not use this service for squirrel removal. Technician placed traps on the wrong side of the home from where the access point was. Traps were moved but two days were lost. Traps were then placed on the ground when the access point was on the second floor. Communication was horrible. They basically dropped a trap in the front yard, collected it in a week and got paid. Any homeowner could have provided this same service. For this I paid 500.00, criminal. read more

Had to call poison control. We were not disclosed mouse poison was put our apartment from my landlord. They did not properly secure the bait in my apartment and I ended up spending $110 for a consultation after our cats found the loose packet. They're going to end up with a lawsuit at some point. They also dropped an adhesive insect trap in the middle of our floor and did not remove it. Update: found another loose one the cats were playing with this morning! Luckily they didn't tear into it. AND they lied to my landlord about how dangerous the bait is. 3 grams is a fatal dose to a 9-10 lb cat according to poison control and they claimed their 10 grams package wouldn't kill our cats. read more

They assumed the Pure Home Pest control that we had had great service from. This technician was unable to make 3 scheduled appt times that he agreed to. They refused to honor the 2 year pre-payment agreement I had with PureHome with the discount that went with 2 years of prepayment. They tried to charge me for a service date that I specifically asked the technician not to come on and then charged a service fee when they had not delivered a bill or mentioned of any charges they felt were due (incorrectly) until I called to discontinue service with dissatisfaction. Speaking with their business office was also mostly non-helpful. Recommend avoiding this business. We had our previous pest control for 20+ years and were always satisfied so this is an outlier in the pest control business. read more

I sent out for bids to resolve a pest issue that cropped up with the cooler weather. It's also something that seems to happen with older homes. I couldn't handle my cats' solution, as it involved having to deal with carcasses. I knew of Plunkett's because they handle my former employer's locations. The gentlemen who showed up were friendly, thorough, and answered questions without seeming to get annoyed. Eric arrived and quickly got to work after a brief conversation about my needs. He'd read the online submission, so he really just clarified and reiterated everything. He toured outside and inside the home and quickly found the problem and resolved it. Not only this, Eric arrived at the TOP of the appointment window and was a bit early. I am happy to say that everything is great and Eric's actions also saved me money. Had a mice infestation in our house and heard about Plunkett's from a friend. Started with their "mouse special" to have three to four visits to deal with it. Kerry was able to deal with the mice already in the house and identified areas of possible entrance from outside. Seeing the issue was larger than we'd first expected we upgraded to their full annual package. I'm glad we did because the amount of service we've received has been phenomenal. Kerry has been out to our place a dozen times now to check up on the mouse situation, clear up a wasp nest, and do the outside sprays for insects. At one point he even brought his manager over as well to see if there was anything he missed. We're now mouse-free and know we can call if we they find another way in. I have no complaints - I feel they went above and beyond what I expected. read more

Scam, the service technician was a no call no show 4 out of the 6 times scheduled. Charged $300 for the technician to look at 1 bait box and say, the rats aren't eating the bait I will be back in two weeks with another plan (literally) and never returned despite scheduling time. And the bait boxes were mine before I called for help. Excuses "I don't have a ladder, my GPS didn't work" etc etc. Most importantly the rats multiplied 3 fold from my initial visit, solution I can come out monthly for twice the original costs. The first time they came out last fall, they put 11 huge black bait boxes all around my small three flat, without asking and without me telling them I had any rodent issues. I do not believe in these because of the harm that rat poison does to the ecosystem and potentially to the local cats who take care of this issue for us. And even if I did, 11 large bait boxes is complete overkill for a standard residential property. Any prospective and current tenant would think we had a serious rat problem! They did remove them from two of the three buildings but I had to remove them from the third myself. Also, they did not contact me ahead of time for services on two subsequent occasions. Both times, I got calls from their technician saying they were at the property for a scheduled service, for which no advance notice was given. Maybe that's ok for some people but we need to schedule staff, notify tenants, and so on. In short, both of those issues showed they had zero respect for my business. The feeling is mutual. Maybe others have had better experiences but I certainly did not. read more

Had a mice infestation in one of our walls, called several companies, i end up cancelling the other ones and go with plunketts because they have the earliest availability and we need to fix this issue urgently. First time they came, they laid out traps, second time he was suppose to seal the possible entry points but he told me the company has no available supply and that he will come back once it is available. And that was the last time i heard from the technician. Its been almost 2 months, i emailed him twice no reply, i called the company twice and they said they will reach out to me. Nobody reached out. I called them today to ask then just to refund the sealing part since i paid somebody else to seal the entry points because we need to replace the wall urgently last month and they said they cant because 2/3 services was done. Avoid this company at all cost. Its a complete waste of money. Worse part is that they were denying that i called several times because they said there was no note in their system that i called. read more

100% would recommend Mica from Plunkett's to deal with your cockroach issues. We had roaches off and on for many months, despite a good cleaning regime etc., and eventually realized other units in our shared building had the same issues. Mica quickly and precisely diagnosed the source of the issue, was real with us about time and possible costs, worked with us in coordinating multiple units, patiently answered all questions, and in the end helped my neighbors and I deal with this extremely persistent issue in a relatively short time frame. He approached treatment with a lot of care and thought, in particular listening and adjusting for our concerns re: safety of our young toddler. This was a big one for us! Plunkett's was a bit more expensive than some other pest control companies we looked at, but neighbors had already tried multiple other services and it never got rid of the issue. In the end, it was probably cheaper than multiple ineffective treatments, but more importantly we haven't seen a roach in several months. read more

Requested live trapping of raccoons and humane treatment and release. They declared their work done but left behind one live trap of a simple three trap trap-line---an animal got into it and was left to die of heat and thirst in the sun before I discovered they left their trap behind, baited and unchecked. "Technician" Bill was supposed to have cleared the traps. Will never use them again. This is in the Twin Cities area-"service" out of their Fridley Minn. office. Animal died after days in the heat, stuck in a live trap. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. The tech that came out charged me $300, said he sealed all the holes. When I noticed mice were still digging in that area I asked him to come back out and check at which point he said everything was still sealed. The digging didn't stop, and I finally had a different company come out and they found two very obvious holes that he had missed. When I called Plunketts to complain they gave me attitude and said the tech did his job and they would not give any sort of a refund. Worst experience ever. read more

I've used plunketts twice. The first time was great. The second not so much. The tech in my area acts as though he knows it all but the next visit contradicts himself. Since my first year we t great I had my daughter use them and he'd give them the same stories. I also used them for bugs in which it did nothing since they only spray outside your home. After my year I quietly cancelled. They continue to bill me for services that I did not sign up for and they tell you they will take the charges off but I continue to get billed. Frustrating. Too many other companies to use. read more

This company was referred to me by a buddy who used them a few years ago to rid his roof eaves of squirrels as well as block the access hole....and was charged between $300-$400. 3 years later I requested a quote for the same issue on a smaller house and was quoted $2,260. There is no way I'm going to pay that kind of money to get rid of a few squirrels and block a couple holes in the roof line above my porch. Plunkett's work quality reputation seems great....but what happened to the pricing? Was I quoted this amount because the technician just didn't want the job? I'm at a loss. If you have mice, it would be better for you to google how to get rid of them than waste your money on Plunkett's 1) they told me they would seal openings less and the size of a golf ball. In English that means they stuff copper wire into the holes on the outside of your house (what you can do yourself easily) 2) they use poison to control mice every time. There's a number issues with this being that especially if you have pets, mice can move poison to areas where your pets can access. If poison gets moved to the HVAC system, it's also toxic to breathe. Mice who die in the walls, create a nasty smell and attract further pest issues in the spring. 3) they will not set traps or monitor them. 4) hire an exterminator that will properly seal openings and give you detailed instructions on how to rid of them for good. Plunkett's just puts a bandaid over it and tells you what you need to do to seal the holes yourself. Really disappointed and I should've listened to reviews read more

We were able to get an appointment quickly. Eric arrived on time and gave me a phone call ahead of time to let me know he was on the way. He wasn't able to get to one of the wasp nests because of where it was located on the roof - it sounds like they don't use ladders, at least for residential work. He had a long telescoping rod that he used to spray the nests and we could see the wasps flying out. He also answered some other questions about insects, and informed me that they do not kill bees (the good pollinator kind of bees). That was nice to hear from a pest control company. If I have any further pest control needs, I'll call Plunkett's again. read more

Plunkett's offered a service over the phone that sounded perfect for our home rodent (deer mouse) infestation. I was able to pay a one time fee for immediate service. They told us they did not see signs of mice in the house. (they did not enter the house!!) They supposedly set traps around the outside of the house to keep anything from entering through identified areas of intrusion (that they never identified) and said they would have a service person out daily at first, then once a week. We could not find a single trap they claimed they set and when I tried to connect to the tech or customer service I did not get a response via Email, phone or text. My husband saw the tech arrive 3 times that first week and when my husband came out to talk to him the tech got in his truck and left. They also told us we had a bat infestation and sent us an estimate through Varment Guard for over $4000! again... when I tried to reach someone to ask for details I received a response email that told me to sign the contract and a technician would be in touch! side note... the technician originally sent a text before his first visit telling me if I had questions to just reach our via text. They were mainly there to check for termites and carpenter ants, but they totally missed the mouse infestation in my house. There is about 20k of damage from mice nesting in my dropped ceiling and walls in my basement. read more

Giving 5 stars for my exterminator, Aura. The company itself seemed like it could be run better, as it took a week to hear back from them and that was after calling every day and being a pest in my own right. I had a bed bug problem- I was finding them crawling around the apartment I just moved into and had over 30 bites from sleeping there only twice!! Aura came and busted her butt all over my apartment. She sprayed my mattress, couch, other high risk pieces of furniture, around the baseboards, up on walls and around moulding, etc. She took apart my wall outlets. She put powder around to check where they might be coming from, and she bombed the place. She was very communicative with me before she came and while she was there, and she told me clear instructions on what I should do to help fight the bugs and protect my stuff. I was extremely stressed from this situation so it was really nice to have someone professional to help me. I still can't fully believe it, but after her first visit, I didn't see any more bed bugs and had no more new bites. I told her this but she still came back 2 weeks later to check where the powder was left and do some more spraying. She also brought me some poison strips to leave in bags of belongings I might be afraid of being contaminated, which was also really nice. I was worried upon seeing the low stars of this company that this was a nightmare I would be dealing with for a long time. I do not know if other exterminators at the company are to blame for bad customer service or if it's the company or what, but I can at least say that Aura was a wonderful professional and I feel a lot better about my situation. read more

We've been customers of Plunketts' for 24 years. I want to first clarify that we are always fully satisified with our BUG services from them with Jerry, and have been for 24 years. (Minnesota). Long Story Short: I paid almost $500 for a service Plunkett's never showed up for. Edited to say: But, I got a great call from Jenny Williams, a regional supervisor who ensured I was fully refunded, and was super receptive to my feedback, and I ensured her we would keep using Plunketts because of that call & because of Jerry. However. I recently made a request for a wildlife personell from Plunkett's to come remove some woodchucks in our yard, and had THE WORST experience. I orignally called over 2 weeks ago to have the initial consultation, etc. I was told I had to first consent via email first (very odd), which I promptly did, and then pay the almost $500 charge (ridiculous) and that someone would call me to schedule after I'd paid. I paid, my card was charged, and I didn't hear from them for 4 days. So I called, and was rudely told by someone that I didn't pay, she double checked, confirmed that I'd made the payment, and said I could expect someone to come out the following Monday (at this point, it's been a week and a half since I've paid them, and I've had to make every attempt to schedule the service). Monday rolls around, I took the day off work because "they couldn't give me a window of time", which is also bizzarre, and no one showed up. I called again, for a 5th time, to ask where my service provider was, that I've paid for 2 weeks ago, and they tell me "no one was scheduled to come. We don't even have work orders for this yet." So I asked a supervisor to call me in the morning. They don't, so I call, again, for a 7th time, to speak to SUE, in your Fridley office, who was extremely patronizing and told me to "stop yelling" just because my tone was rightfully curt after essentially being robbed by Plunkett's, who never came for the service I paid for. We give Plunketts 1000s of dollars a year for bug control, and Sue offered me a measley 10% discount on a service of almost $500, and still couldn't explain why I was charged for a service they don't have any work orders for, and gave ZERO APOLOGY, not one time did she apologize. Customer of 24 years, no apology, and when I asked to cancel the service for a full refund she told me it would take 5-10 business days. Absolutely unacceptable. I went with another company, Minnesota Wildlife Removal, who have amazing reviews and are much more reasonably priced and they had someone here within the hour of my call. read more

I have a mouse in the house! September 2020. Before our guy from Plunkett's arrived, we found the hole we think the mice are getting in the house through. We came up with a scenario too. When our guy showed up, he completely went with what we thought and didn't say much. I had lots of questions. He really had no answers. He was so vague, and kind of just chuckled me off. He didn't really look around. He didn't move appliances or look in nooks and crannies. He crawled into our crawl space and stayed in one spot. How can you figure anything out by not looking and feeling and moving items in the crawl space? He sprinkled some pellets in two corners in the crawl space, to rid all other bugs and creepy crawlers. How is only two corners going to rid bugs from the entire basement? I'm highly disappointed with Plunkett's and the guy I have. I feel like he's lazy and didn't do a very good job. I feel like we did all the work and wasted our money hiring Plunkett's. read more

I live in an apartment complex. I purchased my own rodent trap of outdoors. The Plunkett guy stole my trap and put theirs down. There could no confusion their traps have their name on it. When we moved into this terrible wreck of a home 14 years ago, it was ridden with carpenter ants since it sat next to 10 acres of public woods. The previous owner neglected everything. We had two horrible treatment companies and finally jn desperation I called a professor at U of Mn in environmental studies. He recommended Plunkets and said the U., used them as well . As the daughter if a prof of biochem I am anti pesticides. Plunkets has done OUTSTANDING work for us. We have no ants spiders mice etc.-- very diff with dense woods so close. read more
